Farewell Jesse Hogan
Speak for yourself. Id love him back if we gave up peanuts to Freo.

OUR SEASON
The Dogs list is unquestionably superior to ours. Much more balanced team. They have us covered for talent and on almost every line they either break even with them or are outright better. They also have the heart and grit that we lack and desperately need to find.

Play Jack Viney forward
As in playing down back?

Play Jack Viney forward
I have been meaning to start a similar thread (The Toby Green Model) for a few weeks now. I agree with you almost completely. I feel we should have a look at doing "A Toby Green" with Jack. Years ago, before the GWS midfield became super stacked, Green was there best young mid by far. Racking it up in a team get smashed week in week out. Over time they acculimalted a gluttony of elite mids and they were forced to adjust. Just like we are now. Over the course of a few seasons Green went from one of GWSs excess mids to a AA level small/mid sized forward. Green still attendants center bounces and rotates through the midfield but his core role is a goal kicking, hard edged competitive forward. I cant see a reason why Jack cannot emulate a similar reinvention of himself as a player. His set shot goal kicking is actually very good, hes ability to bust tackles and snap the ball is also elite. He break tackles from guys much much larger than him, so the small defenders are going to have a real rough time lining up against him and holding him down. The biggest weakness or attribute he is missing is the ability to compete overhead. Moving jack forward for the majority of game time allows Gus to play his natural role and Oliver/Trac can all rotate with Jack when ever they need a rest or we need to mix it up in the center. This of course may all fall in a heap if jack is unable to perform up forward however I don't see a downside of giving it a crack for the rest of this year to see if we can't improve overall as a team. I'm not saying Jack will become as good a forward as Green but I can see him kicking 30-40 goals a year and also extended his playing career much longer. Additionally to Viney going forward I would push Tmac back to CHB were he can find form and releases Lever to roam a bit more. I feel Tmac is a much better defender then Tommo who should be running up and down the wing as we recruited him to . My best hypothetical 22 would be: Lever - May - Rivers Hibberd - Tmac - Salem Langdon - Oliver - Tommo Fritch - Jackson - Melk Pickett - Wied - Viney Gawn - Gus - Petracca INT - Harmes - Hannan - Spargo - Sparrow I feel this straightens us up and really allows the players to play roles they are suited for.

POSTGAME: MS02 vs Hawthorn
I agree mate, he had a good game and is a possibility to play round 1 IMO. Not huge numbers but was noticeably clean out there tonight. The hate this kid gets on here is ridiculous, the kids a 20 year old ffs.

Who takes the CHB spot?
Im starting to think you're not a fan of oscar.....

Welcome to Demonland: Trent Rivers
That is extremely optimistic. I hope you are right!

What to do with what is now Pick 32?
I read somewhere last night the Lions were very keen on him.
-
Who would you have taken with pick # 3 - recruiters
Once he got past GWS's first pick at 4 it made no difference when he went.

WELCOME TO DEMONLAND - MITCH BROWN
Yeah, I'm not sold on the idea of picking him up either, just pointing out to that his output isn't as terrible as some have suggested . Some of the remarks about him in this thread have been outrageous.

WELCOME TO DEMONLAND - MITCH BROWN
Kicked 21 goals form 16 games. Our leading goal kicker this year kick 22 in 22 games.

Phantom Drafts
Young and Kemp seems the most likely outcome. We chased 8 for a reason. Even if we split 3, Kemp seems to be our target at 8.
-
Brodie Kemp (drafted by Carlton)
My theory is that the only reason with bought pick 8 was for Kemp. Id say we know he will be there at 8.
-
Brodie Kemp (drafted by Carlton)
I'm convinced this has been our plan the whole time and that we will take Kemp at 8. We traded next years first for him but he wont play in 2020. He will be effectively our first pick in the 2020 draft. Really good trading IMO, we get a top 5 talent next year regardless of our finishing place in 2020.

Splitting Draft Pick 3
With GWS chasing pick 3 and Geelong also wanting a pick in the top ten, maybe we could try something like this? Trade 3 and future second(hawks) to GWS for 6 and Caldwell (or another decent player) Then on trade 6 and 50 to Geelong for 14 and 17 and hope to get Weightman at 14. I also think we should give Sam murray a chance as he will cost us nothing. IN: Tomlinson, Langdon, Caldwell, Murray, Picks 14 (Weightman), 17, 26 Out: Frost, Pick 3, 22, 41, Future second

Splitting Draft Pick 3
I like the Idea, but I think they would want more. Next years 2nd rounder maybe?

Splitting Draft Pick 3
Not ideal, but kicking efficiency and pace seem to be a trade off in the AFL. Its rare to find a player that has both.

Splitting Draft Pick 3
This is from Knightmare's 2018 Phantom draft over on Bigfooty. 7. Jye Caldwell (VIC) Best position: Inside midfield Height, weight: 184cm, 78kg Recruited from: Bendigo Pioneers Projected draft range: 5-15 Similar to: Luke Shuey Rationale: Caldwell has had limited exposure with just three TAC Cup matches this year due to hamstring troubles. A powerful ball-winner with breakaway speed. Moves up power rankings on the back of review of match tape as a prospect who has been out of sight/out of mind for much of the season. October Ranking: 14 Strengths: Stoppage work Contested ball-winning First possession winner Distribution by hand Acceleration from the contest Competitiveness Tackling Dual sided kick Weaknesses: Consistency by foot Little exposed form due to injury

Why are the Saints so attractive?
Disagree, only Ryder wouldn't be in our best 22.
