  1. Yet Neeld played Grimes through the middle more and more as the year rolled on and, most likely, will to an even greater degree into the future.
  2. Pretty good catch! http://youtu.be/oKkaejdFmCQ
  3. Playing in the AFL and trying to win a flag should be incentive enough.
  4. Some that come to mind: 2012: Jones' banana goal against the Bombers. I fell to my knees in celebration - a great moment. To a lesser extend, Garland's goal in the goal square. 2011: Watts' goal against Richmond (false dawn? sign of the future?) Moloney's goal against the Bombers on the run from 55. 2010: Aussie's and Jurrah's goals against the Swans and Hawks. 2009: Jordan McMahon? 2008: Davey's and Wonaeamirri's goals against the Dockers Miller's mark and goal at the 36 minute mark against the Lions 2007: Robbo's 7th after the siren against the Pies on QB 2006: Davey's goal against the Cats in round 6 Mclean's goal in the Elimination Final Bruce's goal against the Swans Neitz dobbing a heap from outside 50 against the Saints Yze's goal against the Pies QB 2005: White's goal against the Dogs Robbo's goals against the Cats and Bombers Yze's goal against the Bombers to start the season 2004: Vardy in the wet against the Dockers Johnstone's goal against the Bombers in the EF 2003: - 2002: Jonhstone/Yze against the Crows Neitz's rampage against the Lions 2001: Leoncelli's goal against the Crows 2000: Woey against the Cats Yze/Green/Bruce/Leoncelli against the Blues Farmer against the Pies/Dockers/Roos 1999: (This was actually a point) Robbo against the Hawks 1998: Tingay against the Eagles Farmer vs the Hawks Lyon vs the Crows All very fun moments at the time, yet looking back they're all pretty mediocre memories in the greater scheme of the game. Although, after a few wins I'll no doubt look back with utter joy...
  5. Playing in the AFL is like teaching, you don't put in the extra miles simply for more pay...
  6. The game we won by 76 points? Turn on the Cats beating us by 31 goals...you'll see some streaming down the guts there! Hopeless example.
  7. Congestion? Tonight's game? Rolling scrums? Tonight's game? I feel like the OP et al. have launched a cause but paid no mind to the game they've attributed to it. The holding the ball rule (the way it's applied) has meant that there is actually less congestion, i.e. players are not able to lock the ball in as easily for ball ups etc.
  8. Unwatchable? High-intensity, high-pressure, high-scoring. Hard to see what you'd prefer to watch...
  9. Dang. He could've made up for our whole season with one word - if only he'd have known!
  10. Yep - any of those articles would go down great on 'Land...
  11. If he doesn't get 30 touches this weekend we should ship him out the door ASAP. Honestly - what do people expect the club captain to say on the club website!? If you don't want to hear it - don't read it. Our club still needs to function to continue to grow our membership numbers etc. FWIW, I'm sure the West Coasts etc. come out with this kind of stuff as well.
  12. Luke Williams - the guy that ended his career on '05?
  13. And then turn on channel 7 or 9 and see how much things have improved...
  14. I think we need something else to discuss... Is the sole reason of announcing a squad simply to generate more attention? Regardless, here is the full squad: P Dangerfield, S Jacobs, B Reilly, S Thompson, T Walker, E Betts, D Beams, S Pendlebury, D Swan, J Watson, L McPharlin, M Pavlich, C Enright, T Hawkins, T Lonergan, J Selwood, H Taylor, G Ablett, G Birchall, L Franklin, S Mitchell, C Rioli, D Petrie, A Swallow, T Cotchin, B Deledio, I Maric, J Riewoldt, S Dempster, L Hayes, S Milne, N Riewoldt, K Jack, L Jetta, J Kennedy, T Richards, D Cox, D Glass, N Naitanui, B Waters.
  15. Can you point out, exactly, which Melbourne supporters are too accepting of which players' non-performance?
  16. I know that many factors mould together to create a footy club culture. But posters on here claiming that people scrapping for positives at the end of another year of misery is the reason our team is rubbish is a bit far in my view.
  17. I know I'll regret this but... huh?
  18. You're right. We should sack Prendergast immediately!
  19. And so it all comes down to (essentially): Hawksley, Gram, Montagna, Schulz and Saad Versus Rance, Ebert, Wallis and Higgins
  20. 15 months later and absolutely nothing has changed.
