  1. Alan Richardson said he had been training extremely well.
  2. the article was conceptually very good identifying basically where our weaknesses are, but made the huge assumption these problems are now fixed with the 3 draftees we brought in, injecting pace and precise kicking. We are a longggg way off any of them becoming regular players. he's right if those players and Ben Brown fire then we wouldn't have too many glaring weaknesses. and if your Aunty had...
  3. 2018? When he played full forward and kicked 50 plus goals ?
  4. it is truly beyond me why they would have tmac training on the wing. it wont work.
  5. on what basis do you make this assessment ?. Almost all players with a decent career get a major injury they have to deal with. at what stage are they no longer worthwhile? would you have taken a 208 cm Max Gawn as a draftee after a knee reco, and knowing with hindsight he would have another one ? take an extreme example of a Bennell very badly injured and although he retired for other reasons he was in full training and playing footy. Hawks took on Brian Lake littered with injuries and he was critical to winning premierships for them. Tom Lynch with an injury cloud when he arrived at the tigers. hindsight with Ben Brown going down is a wonderful thing.
  6. interesting the comment re Yze and more aggressive ball movement in the midfield. We actually improved when we started to stop and evaluate in our ball movement mid year. I think you really have to 'pick' your times to attack and it takes experience, especially against disciplined sides. but thats footy and we need to get better at it.
  7. totally agree. unless they are tearing it apart why not start at Casey and get a few games under the belt. looks like we have just about a full list to choose from as well.
  8. geez you would think Viney is barely AFL standard reading the comments here. unbelievable.
  9. I just wonder if he could be a brilliant back pocket for us. We have Harmes coming back into the midfield, Petracca taking more mniutes now, Sparrow coming along nicely and Jordon coming through.
  10. I agree the bolded above is the key. He is a natural at reading the play and should get better the more he plays with the same forward line. We still have a forward line finding its way.
  11. this kid has X factor, something we sorely have missed. Very few on our list have that game winning X factor. Even our better midfielders wonderful at the coal face don't have the finishing skills. so lets give him time to develop and just play his role. I thought Jackson showed a great deal in 5 games last year to get excited about and Kossie is not far behind. he has the tools to work with.
  12. both are a worry but Tmacs is clearly two years. thats a real worry.
  13. I thougt Sparrow was coming along nicely then got a bad injury right at the end. Doesn't really add to our weaknesses but I thought his kicking was pretty good.
  14. Petracca looks like a ruckman next to Kobe.
  15. an Isaac Smith clone would be perfect for us.
  16. disagree. We desperately need small fast good ball users. it's Pickett then daylight. We have had no X factor to set up easy goals after our midfield win the battle to get it in there.
  17. North always prefer the tough inside midfielders.
  18. we will will fall down like a deck of crards. incredible how many deals you think WTF ?
  19. we always get dictated to. Mahoney is very ordinary at this.
  20. seriously we cant extract full value for a deal. Future third rounder is nothing.
  21. agreed. To not start throwing serious offers to fast wingers or a small forward is not moving with the times. We have no dynamic pace outside of Langdon. We should be getting one or two more or we wont be challenging the big boys. If Stephenson was available I'd be throwing the kitchen sink at him. But to sit back and say ah well no Issac Smith (who could drop off in one year anyway) then we really should develop our faster players is very disappointing.
  22. agreed. Its going to be a vary tall forward line with Brown Weid and a fast developing Jackson showing he can more than pinch hit up forward. We now really need to get in a couple of small runners to help Kozzie apply pressure.
  23. We are such a poor kicking team I think we need blokes like Hannan. I’d be asking a decent second rounder for him.
  24. 4 of the best 20-25 players in the competition ? you sure about that ?
  25. he is an elite kick as we all know. (Adelaide scouts may be reading wink wink)
