Mate, your missing my point. Have a look at our best players at the moment, and look at our best players from around 97. Three of them in the team of the century. I'm not knocking Bailey or our kids. They must to be played.

At the risk of being howled down. I will name a few who I don't think will make it. Newton, Bartram, Dunn, Sylvia (I think he has an enormous amount of ability, but [censored], I'm sick of the glimpses, excuses, misdemenors and FIGJAM attitude). Now call me a pessimist, realist or whatever name you can think of, I don't care. This is just my opinion, and it pains me to write this about the club I loved for 30 years. I think after the mid season break we are really going to cop some bad floggings, due to the amount of kids we've got to play, the lack of support from our middle rung players, and obviously our f***ing huge injuy list. Unfotunately thats the way it's got to be, but after the first 1 1/2 quarters last week, I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

For starters champ, last time I checked, opinions were like a***holes. Everyones got one! And heres mine. In the 30 years I have followed the Melbourne Football Club, it is the worst team I have seen named. Now thats not to say i'm writing off any kids. I'm glad there playing them. But we have too many list cloggers, under achieving, promise so much deliver so little, players atm, those kids have little or no support out in the middle. At least around 1997, we had Schwarz, Neitz, Viney, Stynes, Lyon etc. Is there anyone like that playing for us at the moment?

I think you'll find I'm not. Seriously, there are a few in that team who are just not up to scratch, and others who just aren't ready. Unfortunately we've got what we've got.

Last weeks!

Easily the worst Melbourne team I have seen named in 30 years.

I'm not really sure what you expect from a team of kids. I'm almost at the stage where I don't care if we lose. Just that I can see improvement in them. Make no mistake though, we will cop some floggings after the mid season break when those kids start to get tired and sore, and the stronger and older bodies come to the fore. What we saw in the first 1 and 1/2 quaters on Saturday is the type of footy we can expect to see in the future. And i'm excited. As far as a 'laughing stock'. It would be much worse if we had a good team and we were being flogged. Anyone who knows anything about footy, realises the stage we are at.

Spot on mate. Thought Davey just got a lot of backward handballs. Tried hard though. Morton had a real go, but remember he's only in his 2nd season. The most dissapointing player for us was Brock I thought. Didn't get to the game but watched it on TV. Is it me or is Malcolm Blight the most annoying, know it all, Captain Obvious, thats ever pulled on a mike?

Nearly as disgraceful as some of the puss you've been posting over the last couple of weeks. Trade week is massively overated and i'm glad we didn't trade. Some of the hype/scenario's posted on this site have been pathetic.

My mates son plays basketball with Jack and tells me he is a great kid with an excellent work ethic. A very good attribute for a kid with a bit of ability. Lets get him!

You idiot! If a club has no loyalty to a player who has been a great servant to a club, then it has nothing in my opinion. Green deserves the captaincy/3 year deal. He has continually stood up over the last 2 years when nearly everyone else hasn't.
