  1. No its not end of story. There are things more important than footy, something Collingwood has failed to recognise this week, they would rather win than act responsibly. I dont care if Sylvia is great on-field if off-field he is being a total idiot, he has a responsibility to the club and I think he needs to be careful
  2. I realise I have been starting a lot of topics lately - my apologies but this Didak business coupled with the Cousins business has really ticked me off. Didak should have been punished, I agree with Caroline Wilsons article this morning when she said 'Apparently, being a drunken moron removes any community responsibility.' I am starting to become embarassed with the goings on of AFL players and its not a nice feeling. I am sick of tired of them escaping punishment, they earn the title & respect of been at an elite level of their game for only a few years of their lives, the least they could do is act the part or suffer the consequences of doing the wrong thing as their are many young guys ready and willing to take their place. Clubs such as Collingwood & West Coast are setting a bad example by not appropriately punishing their players. A man is dead, I am not sure whether or not Didak is to blame for that but he should not be let off without punishment. Whether or not they like it footballers are role models for youngsters and what sort of message are we sending? Get drunk its a great excuse, get a drug problem go to rehab problem fixed? They earn enough money to bear the burden of being role models and if they dont like it then go play VFL
  3. OK so if the season is over does that mean you arent going to any more games? Just because you dont make the finals doesnt mean you dont have to play for the next 10 weeks. The season is NOT over and Gardiner promised very publicly that he would wait until then and he didnt end of story
  4. Colin, I love watching you play, its pure magic - however I am a little concerned about who you associate yourself with. OK so the incident few years back with your girlfriend wasnt a big deal but wasnt exactly great publicity either, but now it appears you were with Didak before the whole "incident". Alll I want to say is perhaps choose your friends more wisely, it does not bode well for you to be associated with trouble like him. Also perhaps choose better venues other than Bar 20 and Spearmint Rhino because they dont attract the highest calibre of person. I just dont want to see you placed in a situation similar to Didak or any other troublesome footballer you are bigger and better than that. Our club has traditionally not been marred with off field controversey as many other clubs have lets try and keep it that way hey? Loyally yours
  5. Last night was terrilble, the year has been terrible. Watching Neale come off the ground with the boys had me sobbing like a baby for half an hour. And I was bloody [censored] off they couldnt at least string a win together for him, bloody hell if we cant win for our departing coach we are never going to win. And for the record I hate Essendon too
  6. Yeah hes great, says one thing does the other, definitely someone I want holding the helm at my club
  7. He had one ordinary week, big deal! We have had one ordinary year. He IS NOT second rate, he has been great this year and last nights commentators also said he was great although I dont totally agree with it
  8. So many of you have told me our season is over, so why are you crying over losing another game? What exactly does it matter right now? I wouldve loved a win however it did not work out that way. Brownie has been a great player for us over most of ND's time at the club. It was fitting he should play, and I believe he should get more games. It is WRONG to blame it on him, what about the free kick Bruce didnt get?? You cannot blame it solely on him he was trying to keep possession of the ball. Shame on you for blaming him
  9. Where to start? A humble dignified man with a fantastic sense of humour. I have loved every moment of your time at the club, I have loved your constant positivity, it was so rare for you to publicly come out and bash our players even after they were thumped. Last night footy sucked big time, I have never cried so much over a football game in my life. You will be sorely missed, thankyou for your dedication and general love of the club
  10. When decsisions like that go against us and for Essendon it gives Essendon a momentum to think 'ok we can do no wrong'. Clear free kick
  11. Assistant coach to Gary would be a great role for him or how about fitness coach or something?
  12. 1) Woewodin, Farmer, Armstrong 2) Ward, Ferguson, Godfrey 3) Davey, Bruce, Green
  13. Why cant we have Gary Lyon????????????????
  14. I do not think promotion is losing the coach half way through the season thats my opinion, it will do nothing for team morale. Gardner publicly gave his word then went back on it very publicly that also doesnt promote the club well to me. I have never said he has done a bad job I think he should just be more concerned with it. I would rather see more of our players on The Footy Show etc than him. Also I do work on three other football clubs with similar financial situations to ours so I do know what we are up against and far we have to go to even catch up and I would like to see a greater focus on that than Gardners mug on TV. Oh you know what Perez Hilton is that is suprising :-p
  15. Firstly I couldnt care less how to spell Paul Gardners name, he is a member of our board, again I am not why he continues to push his agenda in the media, I would rather see our players out there than him. I think a culture of club presidents is developing where they think they are bigger than the players eg Butters, Kennett etc. I did not blame him for our financial situation I think he should focus more on it than he is currently doing. Lastly I stole this style of post from Perez Hilton and I do not think that Paul Gardner will stumble across this but I can dream
  16. Why he is allowed to still be branded an "AFL player" is beyond me, he doesnt deserve nor is he even bothering trying to earn the respect that goes with that title
  17. Dear Mr Gardner, To say that I am furious would be a serious understatement. Where to start? Well back when we lost my favourite player Shane Woewodin I sat there and weeped and took it, ok if thats what we have to do thats what we have to do. Did we gain a premiership out of losing our Brownlow medalist? Nope, so why did we do it? I for one believe a club president should be seen and not heard. I should see you at the games but frankly I do not want to hear your opinion of how the game was splashed all over the press, I do not want to see your face popping up on The Footy Show, I do not want to hear you having a go at the players or coach on the radio. Why? Because your football experience amounts to as much as mine, so if you have an opinion join Demonland and vent it there and focus on doing your job and getting us out of financial strife. And IF you have to get your mug all over the press at least stick to your word. I believe you said that 'discussion regarding the coaching position would not happen to the end of the season'. So what happens? Neale Daniher is grossly disrespected and handed an unreasonable review mid-season. And ho-hum 2 days later he is out. I DO NOT BLAME THE GUY. You gave your word and treated our 10 year coach like a piece of dirt. I would've left if I was in his position too, obviously you clearly are incapable of giving the great man the respect he deserves. He might have left but he was pushed. So Mr Gardner I hope you are quite satisfied as now you have been saved the messy work of firing the coach how convenient for you. But know you just lost the heart and soul of the club. Neale Daniher not only coached, he spruiked, he bled, he cried and always had a sense of humour about everything concerning the club. I look forward to the release of our Annual Report and if our financials are not up to scratch I will let you guess whos blood I will be calling for then. Regards Demonlanders spare the abuse how ND is crap etc hes gone do your victory dance, however know that when we are in the same position as next year I will be the one saying I told you so
  18. Deanox footy isnt just about winning the premiership, its sooo much more than that, yes that is the big prize at the end but footy is more than that & its sad for you and anyone else that cant see that. Call me what you want but I wouldnt sacrifice some of our best and some of my favourite and other supporters favourite players just to hold the shiny cup. I love MFC because I always have, and its not a conditional love unlike some others seem to have.
  19. That is not what I said. I think its easy to blame ND because he is the front man and the easiest target. Where do u look first with the rest of the team? St Kilda changed coach, have exactly the same team where has it got them? Nowhere. So obviously the problem wasnt the coach its just the easiest thing to get rid of, Ross Lyon was just a band aid for St Kilda and band aids always fall off. I dont think we should make the same stupid decision just because ND is the easiest person to blame
  20. Totally bite me. As you said in one of your recent posts if you have a god damn problem with me IM me
  21. Its easy to blame one person (ND) instead of blaming the team cos where would u start? I have seen worse than Friday night, what we need is stability going forward, we have a new training ground etc, things can only get better, ND cannot be judged on this year it has been out of his control, one more year now, things may start to calm down on the ground
