And with his final words of the night, Bruce managed to make it about Hawthorn. Well done Bruce.
-
Damn shame.
-
Would make a change after 25 weeks of popping off to the Hawks on screen.
-
It is f@cking unbelievable the amount of throwing in this game.
-
Fitzy the hero again!
-
All that can cap this is Hodge or Lewis getting reported.
-
Oh this is beautiful. Bruce is staring down the barrel of calling an entire quarter of footy knowing the Hawks are going to lose.
-
Can't get over the number of throws and only seen one called. Plenty of short kicks too. Seems to be a feature of Hawks games. Bit of holding off the ball too, not called. Rioli has made some errors, funny, Bruce didn't seem to notice them. The further behind the Hawks get, the more "unsociable" they get. The p***ks.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB – JAKE MELKSHAM

Why don't you take them some of your "powders over the counter that increases muscle growth" that are "not banned" then? Preferably before tonight's game. -

Explain your reasoning. ASADA charged players, AFL tribunal let them off, WADA appealed, CAS heard the case anew and suspended the players. I spot a travesty in there, but I don't see where WADA have erred. -

How is this relevant? Anyway, all your pal is saying is that the AFL shouldn't have run the tribunal in the EFC/Dank thing. Conflict of interest. And from the finding they handed down, we can see why. -

Why does there have to be? Does this really require an answer? There are too many substances out there. They cannot test them all. The funding for the cheats outstrips the funding for the ASDAs, USADAs, etc. There is no way they can test them all. Not time nor money. So they have "catch all" sections in the code. Not approved for human consumption? Banned. Too similar chemically to a known banned substance? Banned. You seem to be blaming the agencies. They are fighting an uphill battle. Underfunded, under-resourced, often deliberately by their controlling bodies. -

Oh right. Maybe they were disadvantaged? So cheating should only be condemned if it works. Got it. -

So you think it is possible that Dank/Charter/Hird said "here's some stuff we'd like the players to take. We don't know if it's performance enhancing. In fact it might DETRACT from their performance! But let's stick it in 'em and find out. What's the diff? What's one failed season of footy, it's not like it can affect anyone's career." Here's another possibility for you ... They knew full well it was performance enhancing the whole time. -
So you reckon he might have fallen off a ladder, RJ? That could explain it.

Here's the thing about Robbo. When he's on the radio at say 12PM ... and he seems to have several daytime spots on SEN ... he can surprise with his grasp of the game. When he's not wearing a EFC duffel coat, if you can suffer through the tortured verbiage, he can make very good sense. He still has trouble holding a coherent train of thought for more than a couple of sentences. But the points he makes are often fair and insightful. Now, leap ahead to about 6PM on a Friday night, previewing a game with Huddo and Brereton. Not quite as on the ball. Interrupts constantly, mangles his words, and makes numerous gaffes, not picked up on by his fellow talking heads. (Last Friday, talking about the WCE-Dogs game, he said "the pressure stepped up ... it was finals-like pressure".) And on the late night gossip/analysis shows, that's when he appears at his worst. There have been a few where he almost seems not to know where he is. Somehow, as the day wears on, his performance appears to suffer. It does beg the question, how is he on TV?

Ha ha ha! That's our Eddie "Impulse Control" McGuire. "From now on no more Captain Nice Guy from me." Got it, Eddie. Coz we've been calling you that behind your back for years!
-
I wouldn't take any notice of anything he's said on the radio. He has clearly learned well from Roos ... the art of uttering words and saying nothing. His SEN interview was all motherhood statements and no actual information.

THIS impressive:
-
Yes, watching three games of AFL sounds like a footy tragic's idea of slacking off.
-
It's a double whack against the Pies because that's exactly the kind of jab Eddie likes to poke at other clubs. If true to form Eddie will not be able to contain himself and will "retaliate" with some mouthing off on the radio.
-
He was saying that this season went well, but in the last two rounds the peptides were past their use by date. Next season they're going to use fresh ones each week and double the dosages.

Doh! Can't the bugger stay at home with his young family instead of going out with his mates all the time? -
Greater Western Sydney (a dynasty to rival the Hawks)
Mazer Rackham replied to Diamond_Jim's topic in Melbourne Demons
So are the Weagles and Adelade "artificial constructs" but does anyone care nearly 30 years later? Everything must have its beginning. The MFC itself is "artificial", having created not just a club but an entire sport under it. That's "treading water"? Damn, I look forward to the day when we can claim to be "treading water". That's why they won't sink. It won't be permitted. There is some minor pedigree for Aussie Rules in SE Qld. The Lions will survive. But in greater Sydney? The AFL have built the club, the support, the everything. They cannot let it collapse or it will have all been for nothing.
