  1. I believe it's a boy
  2. This kid reminds me of a young Stephen Tingay, let's hope he doesn't walk through any glass doors though....
  3. Thanks Curtis for some discussion about Sandy in the Sandy thread.
  4. Correct
  5. [censored]!!!!!

    Sylvia

Sylvia is not as good as we all hoped for, but hopefully he can improve his game to be a consistent valuable contributer to our team over the next ten years.
  7. Damn Nasher, you beat me to it, you must have posted this just as I started mine
  8. I wouldn't say that their careers have been ruined, Jolly and Armstrong have played in premiership teams, so let's not get too carried away. Perhaps careers destroyed at Melbourne would be a better name for the thread? Anyway, Armstrong, Jolly, Simmonds, Bishop off the top of my head. Not sure about Lamb, no other club took an interest into him. In the recent past Spalding, Pike and Heaver are the only three I remember. Further back, allowing what happened to Stan Alves and Norm Smith is unforgiveable. The trades that worked - Phil Gilbert (anyone remember him?), Troy Longmuir and Jeff Farmer. Geez, poor Fremantle
  9. What a crock. McLean, Sylvia, Bell, Jones, Petterd, Pickett, Moloney, Carroll, Godfrey, Miller, Rivers, Whelan. These are just the ones that I can think of right now and none of them you could accuse as being soft.
  10. That's not good news occo, do you have any inside info on this? GoDs, Armstong is a different player at West Coast, it's amazing what some confidence can do to a player.
  11. Dappa, I won't reply to everything because you've explained your position well I just wanted to add some thoughts. I started posted on demonology, but I've ended up here because I think this is a great forum most of the time (easily the best Melbourne one), I hated what demonology turned into, not sure if it's changed since couple of years ago but you literally couldn't post something without at least three people abusing you - not my kind of place. "You've been around here long enough to know he, and other like him have done way worse" I completely agree with this comment which is the reason for my first post on the subject. Most people will sometimes slip in a personal comment from time to time, footy is an emotional sport so it's bound to happen, in another thread recently I did the same thing to Nasher, but on reflection I felt terrible about it and apologised. I just have my doubts that RR has the same reactions when he does it and with that in mind is he the right kind of person to be a moderator on this site considering the types of values it stands for? Regardless, the above questions are my own thoughts and don't need to be answered, but perhaps something good will come out of this thread.
  12. I agree with everything said about CJ so far, I just want to add that he's not going to learn anything new playing with Sandy, he needs multiple games at AFL level to develop his game. I'm concerned that Daniher is going to do what's good for Daniher and not what's good for Melbourne for the rest of the year.
  13. Barring any major injury myguess would be that next year will be his last. Edit: When does his current contract run out?
  14. I must be having a blonde day, I didn't pick that one up either. Love your work champ
  15. There is one main reason why we must continue to play both Miller and Carroll and that's because we have no one else to fill their roles. Apart from Rivers, Carroll is our only bigger bodied defender capable of playing on more mobile forwards and Miller is the closest thing we have to a CHF.
  16. Dappa, I don't know the history between the two but really it's irrelevant. Here's a part of the Code of Conduct post made by Demonland. Regardless of whether people agree or disagree with Clint Bizket he is just expressing his opinion, which is what this forum is about, and as you've pointed out this isn't an isolated case with RR. It's made worse because he is a moderator. I didn't see CB resorting to personal jibes in this thread so why does anyone else need to?
  17. Why do you always feel the need to make personal comments about the people you're arguing with? You do it all the time, CB is just debating the issues but you come in and start with completely unnecessary personal attacks. The saddest thing is that you're a mod, but you're intelligent enough and you write well enough without having to resort to this crap.
  18. The best way to grab a great player is to have first crack in the pre-season draft....
  19. Not so sure of that brey, if we do have a poor year we might end up with the best underaged talent and a great pickup in the pre-season draft, which can give a club some enthusiasm for next year.
  20. Another little piece of history, when Daniher started as coach he described the list as 'brittle'....
  21. With both McLean and Jones out Sylvia is desperatley needed in the middle as Moloney is our only 'tough' midfielder prepared to really put his body on the line. I understand why you'd have him in the backline - I just think we need him more in the middle atm.
  22. As much as I think Jamar is not the answer to our rucking needs I don't think we should drop him, the reason is that leave PJ developing where he is, if we drop Jamar then PJ will need to go into the ruck. At this stage I don't think that that would be the best thing for him. I'd like to see Buckley given a go, by reports he played ok for Sandy and we desperately need some run through the middle. In: Buckley, Warnock Out: Bate, Garland If Neitz and Green are ok then: In: Neitz, Green, Buckley Out: Bate, Garland, N.Brown.
  23. CB, thanks for the comment. Nasher, thanks for the apology, reading back I could have used different words to make my meaning more clearer. I apologise for the personal comments, they were compeltely unneccesary and did nothing to add to the debate, seeing Melbourne lost so badly doesn't put me ito a great frame of mind to discuss the issues at hand. I won't continue with the debate, perhaps later in the week though when I'm not so emotional about the loss. Have a great rest of the weekend D
