  1. No, he's not a pinch hitter up forward, he can play as a fair dinkum Key forward as well as a great ruck, similiar to Pauk Salmon except more agile. He get's alot of the ball as well when playing in the middle like Goodes. If we get Kreuzer or Cotchin I will be very, very happy.
  2. The AFL were intending to introduce that rule but then Freo wanted to trade their's so they scrapped it.
  3. Not While I've been alive, it may have happened early last century but definitely not in modern footy. Most coaches win one withing the first 3 or 4 years as coach.
  4. Five weeks....I would have thought that they'd have enough information collected over the last ten years to make an accurate decision. What this basically means that if the players can perform ok over the next five weeks then he'll get an extension, doesn't matter that the season has already gone, yet another wasted one. But now Daniher will obviously put in team's to win games, not to build for the future. What's the [censored] point of that? We've already been horribly exposed up fprward when Neitz isn't playing, why would Daniher even try to build for the future when he's coaching for his job. In a previous thread I stated that Daniher will be coaching for himself and not the team for the rest of the season, now the board has just confirmed it, terrible decision for the team and the future.
  5. I don't agree with alot of your stuff but I like your passion
  6. Talk to any of the players, it's common knowledge amongst the playing group. Not that surprising though, all coaches have their favourites.
  7. It's rare that a player gains underserved big wraps.
  8. The U/18's started this weekend with Div 2 kicking things off. Tassie beat Qld and NSW defeated NT. Tasmania 17.14 (116) defeated Queensland 13.13 (91) Goals: TAS: Bowden 5, Cornelius 5, Joseph, Collier, Bellchambers, Mihocek, O'Garey, Murphy, Grima.QLD: Stewart 5, Zorko 2, Savage, Rolfe, Davis, Enright, Mulligan, Jones. Best: TAS: Bowden, O'Brien, Bellchambers, Grima, Williams, Cornelius. QLD: Gibson, Stewart, Headland, Whitecross, Daye. Venue: SCG NSW/ACT 20.11- (131) defeated Northern Territory 12.11 (83) Goals: NSW/ACT: Walker 5, McGregor 4, McIntyre 3, Colvin 2, Davis 2, Cleaver, Terlich, Drum, Davies.NT: Rolfe 3, Oliver, Fittock, Stokes, C. Rioli, Motlop, Campbell, Farmer, Calma-Holt, Shannon Rioli. Best: NSW/ACT: McGregor, Bird, Wilson, Woods, Davis, Overs. NT: Fittock, Oliver, Sharples, C Rioli, Snowdon, Stokes. Hopefully we'll have alot of good picks with this draft, very strong for ruckman and midfielders.
  9. White's performance wasn't really that great, every ruck has dominated the Tigers this years because of their injuries, and I doubt whether White dominated.
  10. The best way to beat the flood is for the midfield to get on top and play fast, rebounding footy. Teams that flood will always try to run the ball out of their defense, but if your midfield is applying the right pressure and dominating then you can turn the ball over and quickly get it to your key forwards. We, however, have two problems with that. Firstly we only have one key forward, but he's now 32 and will continue to struggle with injuries untill he retires in one or two years, and secondly we've been forced to play two of our promising midfielders in the forward line because of the first problem.
  11. If we end up with either Kruezer or Cotchin it won't be a wasted year.
  12. Eagles bottomed out and were lucky to pick up Judd, and I doubt very much whether they would have won it without him. The Lions built a team around their concessions and early draft picks. That's two without doing any research at all.
  13. Bit harsh on CJ, I'd like to see him given the opportunities that alot of Daniher's Favourites have been given.
  14. Really, why isveryone so surprised by this week? No relacement for Neitz. Poor drafting and development of KPP. No original game plan, just copies of other teams. No Plan B. Poorly skilled players who continue to get games. Poor leadership from the senior group. These are issues that we've all known for several years, so really our current position shouldn't be that much of a surprise.
  15. No, I didn't think you'd have the balls to post a reply. If you have a problem with me then send me a pm instead of making smart arsed comments without any evidence to back them up.
  16. Why do you say that? Here are some comments from other posters regarding his performances: "prominent all day and gave a lot of drive from his wing" "a solid game from the youngster who collected 20 plus possessions and kicked a goal. His delivery under pressure was good and he showed great composure. Not far off getting a run in the red and blue" "a player with explosive pace and all of the athletic ability necessary to play the game at the highest level. He was played mainly at halfback where he displayed a good approach on the football and generally disposed of it well. He is still on a steep learning curve as he showed when he tried to mark from behind instead of spoil deep in defence during the last quarter. However, at his very next opportunity, he did the right thing and punched the ball away from his opponent’s hands" I haven't been to every Sandy game this year but from what I can tell he's only had one poor game recently, which is alot better that most of the players ahead of him. What do you base your comment on?
  17. Spot on D2, no one thinks he'll be an instant champion but there are currently no players capable of replacing Neitz who has game experience.
  18. wo ye hen ho, xie xie (spelling may be off, it's been awhile)
  19. ni hao ma, but no, I do not think you're Chairman Mao
  20. One vote from me for best thread of the year
  21. His efforts over the last 3 or 4 works have been very poor.
  22. So, who was the mystery demonlander? I missed the telecast.
  23. I'd be open to trade any of our senior players if the offer was right
  24. Ok, this is a thread for everyone to vent their spleen, mod's please go easy with this thread, it's best if we all have our say, but please no personal comments. I'll kick it off and have a whinge about our forward structure, our whole game plan revolves around getting the ball to David Neitz, but when he doesn't play we're shiite because we have no one to replace him. We so bereft of key forwards we've been forced to play two of our promising midfielders as fill ins for a CHF. After ten years Daniher still hasn't developed a key forward.
