  1. Biff, I understand what you're saying, I've been critical of other mod's for doing the same thing.
  2. That's awesome Tim, definitely a first. You're a deadset legend!!
  3. Is it though? The Newton issue is directly linked to having a successor for David Neitz when he retires, and at 32 y/o that's getting closer and closer. His injuries this year have exposed a major worry for our team and even after ten years of coaching Daniher has been unable to develop another key forward.
  4. Yeah i know, the wording just made me laugh.
  5. Yes deanox, it's a safe bet that one of those will come true
  6. But Garland didn't show anything close to what Newton has produced this year, so it just doesn't make sense that Garland was more mentally ready. But if what you just said about Newton's psyche can be so easily damaged by a poor performance in his first AFL game then he will never be ready, regardless of how many games he plays for Sandringham, I just completely disagree with that assessment.
  7. How do you know this? Considering Garland's peformance for Melbourne I disagree. He wasn't ready at all, either mentally or physically.
  8. OMG I love that show, Stewie rocks!
  9. I've been saying this for awhile and I completely agree.
  10. Name me ten young recent players who have stepped into an AFL team and immediately played consistent four quarter football? Now you're just being ridiculous, all young players take time to produce consistent efforts.
  11. In the his job has neevr been on the line like it is now so what has happened in previous years is irrelevant. It will be interesting watching what he does for the rest of the year, that's the only way of proving which one of us is right.
  12. I prefer a Soy, sugar, fish sauce and sesame oil combination with some ginger, works very well with steamed fish.
  13. The West Indies has demonstrated what a team of champions are capable of in the past.
  14. Look, I love browny, I know him personally, but even he would agree that he's struggling. Sydney have a great team, but it's because every single player contributes to the cause, and we both know that he wouldn't get a game for them. The other issue is that we have players who can do everything you've described and are in much better form than Browny right now, so what's the point in playing him?
  15. Great post Dappa, you summed everything up perfectly, in all future Newton threads we should provide a link to your post. For some unknown reasons certain posters on this board have rules for Newton that don't seem to apply to any of the other players.
  16. Interesting points BR, however I think he'd learn alot more quickly playing alongside someone like David Neitz compared to Sautner. Neitz commands respect from his teammates, and he lifts those around him. If what you say is true then his only issue is a mental one, the rest of his game is ready for AFL, so bring him in to learn from the best we have. Playing him for Sandy is now a waste of time, he's not going to develop his game any further.
  17. Well, if there ever happens to me grenades on the MCG then we know who to play I would have thought that players would get picked on their ability to play rather than how they get on with their team mates.
  18. I remember hearing one of the club doctors talking about treating OP, and if my memory is correct I'm sure he said that the treatment was a three year program to get rid of it.
  19. These polls aren't completely accurate imho. I'll use Sydney as an example, the polls say that Sydney have over 1.7 million fans, but let's face it, the vast majority will never even go to a game and definitely not buy a membership. It's the same as saying I follow Melbourne Storm, but I don't support them as I have no interest in going to a game, I'm just pleased when they win. Our membership has increased this year, and that's a better indication imo.
  20. Is he one of the Vice Captains this year?
  21. You just beat me to it
  22. Made it onto the interchange http://svc002.wic653dp.server-web.com/Seas...px?newsId=33941 Good to hear that you remember him bm
  23. He's no superstar but his importance is magnified by the fact that we don't have many players capable of replacing Neitz who is now 32.
  24. I'm related to a bloke by the name of Wally Lock, most people haven't heard of him but he made the team of the century, which is a fair effort. The Lock's were a very strong footballing family, at one stage they fielded more than half of the local team were they lived. From stories I've heard Wally was a very impressive individual, pity he didn't pass his footy talent through to me, my skills were in a different sport.
