I would commend some analysis of how the Pres' statement re-shapes the probable AFL response to our defense.

Tonight I have come to a conclusion that has already been expressed by others on this site. Caroline has been enlisted by key AFL staff to inflame public opinion against MFC. The AFL will announce heavy penalties within days, maybe hours. The AFL are fully aware that they will be charging MFC for practices that were common in the competition for several years. The AFL want to be seen to be firm and decisive wherever the 'integrity' card is played. The AFL expect MFC to fight the charges through the legal system. The AFL expect several of the charges to be thrown out, as they can't be proven. Caroline has simply been a pawn in the AFL's stategy to shore up it's public image. We must fight! It will be a long fight. We will have our day!

Caroline's respect for legal process ended at the witch trials... Her logic in this matter goes something like this: "Throw MFC into the river. If they float, they tanked. If they sink.... WTF, they should have relocated when the offer was made!"

Seeing the worth of losing is not the same as applauding the orchestrating of a loss!

I look forward to Caroline receiving her comeuppance. She continues to lose the respect of her readers because it is so important for her to be seen to have inside information. This is her modus operandi... In this case, if she does have inside information, she is merely confirming that she is part of a corrupt process! Ironic, isn't it?

Sam Edmunds got it very wrong. At least two commentators and a team official picked Aaron as BOG early in the final term. Aaron didn't seem to do a heap in the second half, but for Edmunds to ignore his contribution is shoddy, at least!

Jack Watts didn't seem to underperform in big games before he was drafted. Victoria regained its title as the pre-eminent junior football state when Vic Metro went through the NAB AFL Under-18 Championships undefeated. In coach David Dickson’s final game of a 12-year reign that produced eight Championships crowns, Metro clinched the title with a decisive 29-point win against Western Australia. After opening the Championships with a three-point win against Vic Country, thanks to the heroics of subsequent Larke medallist Jack Watts, Metro grew in stature. Subsequently, Metro toppled Tasmania by 67 points, South Australia by 53 points and NSW/ ACT by 51 points to set up a showdown with Western Australia. Thanks to the midfield dominance of Mitchell Banner, ruckman Tyrone Vickery, wingmen David Zaharakis and Sam Blease, utility Rory Sloane and Watts in attack, Metro was always in command. Dickson said the narrow escape against Country propelled Metro to its Championships success. “After that first match we did a lot of work on our deficiencies. In every game we had a belief that we needed to improve in some form and to the boys’ credit they worked on rectifying it,” Dickson said.

Saying you have been to more sessions than me is once again speculative... Saying that Jack Watts won't be a major contributor to a finals campaign is also speculative. You are entitled to your opinion, but I offer you another that is at least as worthy.

Those that have been to this pre-season down at the paddock will have observed the emphasis being put on Watts being the key backline distributer in match play simulations. He has been ear-marked for that role on the back of his good showing down back in 2012. He is a very important and valued cog in the resurgence of MFC in 2013.

Stop crystal-balling Ben-Hur and do some genuine observation and research. You sound a lot like the so called footy journalists that have been covering the tanking investigation.

I'm afraid that people who don't see Jack Watts as a very good footballer are living in the past. I have confidence in that fact being very firmly established as the 2013 season unfolds. I'm not going to list Jack's positives here, but the list is significant. If you think the current coaching panel has reservations about his place on our list you are bordering on delusional. Think 6' 5", athletic, highly skilled, intelligent and coming into his prime...
