  1. Just posted this over at 'ology "If anyone knows of ways to advertise this 'event' widely, now is the time to tap into your resources. It is about gathering around our boys in a show of solidarity. It is about support. It is a symbolic gesture intended to communicate that we will see this through together. "
  2. I attempted to post on the MFC Facebook page but it seemed to be blocked. If anyone wants to have a go at this, be my guest...
  3. Well spoken Irish Demon. Today is the day for ideas and action. The task of attracting a large number to what will be a short training session on Friday morning is challenging. Any ideas are welcome here.
  4. Yes Striker 475... I don't know if James could be the answer as midfield coach but the sooner he is back in the MFC fold the better.
  5. I like your analysis Outside fifty... and your advice!
  6. Caro has a direct line to AFL. She relies on a wide network of informers and insiders. They use her to pull a few strings, she gets [censored]-bits in return. That is why her grand-standing about corrupt practice is so hypocritical.
  7. I would like to encourage all Demon supporters to attend training on Friday. Whatever our opinions and feelings about the current plight of the MFC, I'm sure we can agree on one thing; we'll always be Demons! It is obvious that our team are playing without confidence. Many of them are young and inexperienced. Several are new to the club. When big things happen it is easy for rank and file supporters to despair about having any influence. I believe if we can get 150 - 200 supporters to training on Friday morning it won't go unnoticed by the playing group. It will give them a lift! It will send a strong message of support, a sign of unity, "We will stick by you through thick and thin". I believe it could have an immediate impact on how they perform on the weekend. Here is a rare opportunity for the ground roots supporter to make a strong (and public) statement about our love for our brand. Give it a try, be part of the turn-around!
  8. The numbers required to emphasize our support will not happen by chance. We'll need to make a concerted effort to reach the people.
  9. Words of professed wisdom from the person formerly known as Range Rover; "Do not hand this club over any more of your $$$ or a minute more of your precious time until sweeping changes are made" Words that have infinitely more relevance from Satyriconhome; "Nineteen asked me to pass on our work tonight on yet another interesting day at MFC Turned up at the G unaware to be greeted by shattered staff, if the CEO is hated by some, the staff loved him 15 of us turned up tonight which was great, Jason, Daniel, Andrew, Cheryl, Geoff, Dave, Michael, Michael, Stephen, Anne, Chelsea, Judith, Trish, Peter and Geoff who had to leave early, thanks to everybody who turned up including the newbies Surprisingly we still managed 22 sign ups but importantly about 300-500 phone calls Some of us managed to chat to Cameron, who made the effort to come and thank us for turning up to support the Club, and yes I shook his hand again I congratulated him on a couple of things that will be a lasting legacy, the emblem and the blazer, the players all love it, and in case any of the doubters want to question, I hand out scarves on Match Day and we had 18yr old Nathan Stark with us last Saturday, I asked him what he thought of the Blazer and he loves it. I have made a point of asking the others as well...so thanks Cameron for giving us an individual identity back...and thanks for the thanks....and the joke about applying for job at AFL HQ The Membership staff really do appreciate the help, so next Monday or Tuesday if you want, contact Nineteen on here."
  10. The real and obvious difference between Cameron Schwab and you is that he conducted himself with dignity
  11. Well done to all the contributers to this thread on this page (13). This was an excellent debate without chest-thumping, or grand-standing. A high standard that others should aspire to.
  12. I like your perspective Macca, and I agree. There is more to come, but in the mean time let's hope the team settles into a more effective playing style.
  13. stuie, that Nicholson gif is sensational!
  14. There is no such concept as 50 years a Demon... there is only A Demon For Life!
  15. I like to rake a little muck on muck-rakers... The Ten Cricket Chuckers The Sunday Age Sunday October 28, 2007 Warwick Green 10. Patrick Smith (1970s) Best known in these parts as a belligerent columnist first with The Age and then The Australian, Smith was equally aggressive as an opening bowler for district club Prahran in the 1970s. He once copped a two-week ban for following through and chesting a batsman to the ground. Smith was also said to have a questionable action, although he was never called. In one Victorian second-XI match against Western Australia, he opened the bowling with Rodney Hogg. Leading umpire Bill Smythe, looking on from the boundary, was heard to declare that Smith was a chucker. Smythe went to Prahran training the next week, and after watching on from square-leg, suggested to Prahran and ACB chairman Bob Parish that Smith needed some remedial work on his action. Now, ask yourself, "is this the man that should be leading the chorus on sports ethics?"
  16. ingeniokinetic, beautifully (and accurately) put. What a magnificent contrast to RR you have provided in a single sentence that outweighs every self-serving statement RR has excreted on these boards for what seems an eternity.
  17. I judge the quality of demonland posts by asking this question, would they wear their site name to MFC training? I challenge Range Rover to attend training on Friday morning wearing his moniker.
  18. I have the same attitude as Don Scott when it comes to outside help!
  19. Disgraceful Dees don't deserve their place in AFL by:Patrick Smith From:The Australian April 08, 201312:00AM .... If that doesn't motivate you to get to training on Friday morning, nothing will!
