  1. Time for the common man to show what he stands for. Sign on to show your support. Do something proactive to lift this team out of the doldrums.
  2. Here's a chance to give something back to a club that has been copping it from all sides for six months. We were made the scapegoats for the practice of extracting the most desirable draft picks from a disappointing season. We have been crucified by media knobs who have vested interests. Melbourne people have been under attack so often from far and wide that it has become a sport. Last night I sat beside four opposition supporters who spent the whole evening ridiculing Melbourne players. Their key targets were Watts, Davey and Clark. When Davey snapped his first goal I jumped up and got right in their faces. But I did it with a smile on my dial and they weren't too sure of how to respond. When Davey kicked his second, miraculous, goal I jumped up again and gave them more of the same. I told them that it would only get worse every time he goaled. Davey didn't snag another, but you know what? They stopped bagging Davey from that point on. Sometimes you have to stand up and support your own!
  3. Here's a list WIZZA WAYNEWUSSELL THE HEART BEATS TRUE MUNGA JOSH GENERATION DEE IEEHOW add your name
  4. Jamar did not lose every tap... His problem is that the taps, generally, don't find our midfield and that he doesn't contribute enough around the ground or up forward.
  5. Roostit, binman and others here should sign on to the UNITY thread
  6. stuie your ability to read an interview is as hollow as the conclusion you draw.
  7. It's not like we're being asked to fork out another $1000. All we are being asked to do is park the car, walk over to the training facility, gather together and have a united voice in support. We're just saying "we're here to help you get through this"... more importantly we are making a statement to the wider AFL fraternity, "We will never quit!" How often do you get the opportunity to make that statement in a public way?
  8. What did Barassi do in that incident? He sent a message that (his)society would not meekly stand by and allow a woman to be victimised. He stood up and made a statement. I guess that is how he played his football. We can't ask our young men to stand up if we aren't prepared to make a stand on their behalf.
  9. By the way, Robbie doesn't appear in my avatar, though he is a welcome influence at anything MFC. My crew are Barass, Neita and Dicko.
  10. rjay, tell that to the young p*&%# that Barassi took on after the altercation with the woman outside the restaurant.
  11. I think it imperitive that we get former greats along to training this week as well. I'd like to start with the three that appear on my avatar. Just need to know when and where and I will make it my business to invite them.
  12. Wizza, I just forwarded that quote to my three children. No more apologising to our kids for leading them into the MFC... use defeat to fuel success.
  13. There must be a way to make this idea happen. The players need to know we will never quit! They need something left-field to raise their spirits and their self-belief. This concept of Wizza's is something that is achievable from a supporter point of view. We can turn the tide with a statement of Unity in our darkest hour. All it needs is 200 to put their hands up, to turn up and be very vocal about why we are there.
  14. Good post Wizza. It would be amazing if we could get 200 hard core SUPPORTERS to training this week, for all the reasons you have outlined. Count me in! Contact MFC to find out the best session to attend then get the word out.
  15. He won't need 12 weeks. The team will put this 'prophets of doom' talk to bed in six!
  16. Neeld is far more Media savvy than some here give him credit for. I pulled into the car wash just as the SEN interview went to air. I was already running a little late, but I sat there and focused on the interview. Neeld, once again, gave the impression of a true professional who is pleased with the restructure of the team, pleased with the football department for enabling us to select close to best 22 (25) and quietly confident that the results will come. He is an impressive leader and I'm backing him... end of story!
  17. I've noted that quite a few long kickers were on the skinny side... Robert Flower, Michael Tuck etc. I think this is the result of timing/co-ordination and extension (having a longer follow through). So, long kicking is not solely the demain of strong quads, though I acknowledge this can be a plus.
