  1. Simples... at the completion of the final series a panel of 'experts' (or even Gary Ayres himself) vote 3,2,1 for their choice of best player in the final series.

Thanks Ash... a labour of love! Can't get enough of Robbie!

It is only now that I have become aware of Wills' downward spiralling latter years, and that he took his own life when still relatively young. He clearly experienced a lot of tragic and controversial incidents in his lifetime. Many of these were self-inflicted. Letting the truth be known is our way forward!

Rosebury #8 and Stevic #9 had the Bulldogs v Port Prelim. Free kick count in that game was 22 Port to 16 Bulldogs; against trend! Mollison #32 had our Prelim.
  5. The Umpires for the Round 22 match v Adelaide were, Chris Donlan #1 Leigh Housson #5 Rob Findlay #23
  6. I'm interested in how MFC players scored in the Brownlow in our 10 Premierships in 25 years (1939 - 1964). 1939 - Jack Mueller eq 10th (* ineligible) 1940 - Ron Baggott eq 10th 1941 - No MFC player in top 10 1948 - Alby Rodda eq 10th 1955 - Denis Cordner eq 4th 1956 - Ron Barassi eq 4th 1957 - John Beckwith 6th 1959 - Bob Johnson eq 7th 1960 - John Beckwith eq 5th 1964 - Hassa Mann eq 8th ... and some wonder why we have a such a deep-rooted disrespect for umpires' judgement!
  7. "The reports of my death are greatly exaggerated" - Mark Twain Melksham could yet play in the Grand Final, if there were to be another significant training injury!
  8. Was that how long in slo-mo repeat, or how long in real time? (which I estimate as somewhere between 4 and 5 seconds)
  9. 6 Jackson 5 Nibbler 4 Trac 3 Clarrie 2 Lever 1 Rivers
  10. I love the way Jack plays the game. If the critics take the time to watch the whole sequence in real time they will note that two free kicks to Jack were ignored immediately prior to any elbow/forearm contact. They should also be aware that the action that lead to him being found guilty was brief, greatly magnified by the slow-mo used by the Media.

  12. I think some of the critics here are confused by the slow-mo replay. The rubbing of the elbow on the neck is quite a bit shorter in real time. The whacker who suggests Viney is an easy replacement (by just about anyone else on the list) just doesn't know much about the game!
  13. Did Collins play out the game? is he concussed? Any stitches? Will he play next game? Did Collins contribute to the position Viney was in? Appeal written all over this!
  14. Best way to give Dermie the respect he deserves... switch channels/stations whenever he appears. If enough people do there will be an immediate change of tune!
  15. I take more notice of the 'experts' on Demonland than AFL coaches when it comes to knowledgeable appraisal of a player's worth.... NOT!
  16. You're too caught up in the Lemmings movement! Perhaps you're even leading!
  17. Very selfish game by Viney... 11 tackles! He obviously is trying too hard! 32 Disposals... He should stick with 6 or 7 to warrant the criticism that the astute arm-chair critics of Demonland spit out! Only third for the team on metres gained... well that caps it off!

Better have another look at Jack's taking down of Ablett in our most recent final against Geelong!
  19. Haven't bothered to read any of this [censored] tonight, but if anyone is bothering to find something to be negative about... pure Trolls, NO CREDIBILITY!, Give up! Crawl back into your hole! Go Dees!
  20. We were deeper into our backline than I had noticed at any game in 2021. Quite often there was nobody from between our wing and half back line to our goals. I remarked on this a few times to my son on Saturday... on this occasion, we were out-coached. I am also one of those who think its a no-brainer to include Ben Brown from here on in!
  21. Surprisingly, he has only umpired in 3 Dees v WC games in that time... but yes we lost them all! Playing in Subiaco & Perth the main predictor there!
  22. Our winning % in those 21 years is around 36%... Our strike rate with Mr Margetts is 24%... You win some, you lose some! I'm only referring to the trend. I think the trend is a factor when tipping.
  23. Umpire Margetts started his illustrious AFL umpiring career in 2002. In the twenty years he has adorned the stage he has umpired 29 MFC games. We have won 8 of them! I think we should pay more attention to his appointments when tipping!
  24. Today I witnessed how far the current AFL machine (Admin, Umpires & Media) have drifted from the history and fabric of the game. This was a game where I was a 'neutral'... I picked the Bombers, but, for selfish reasons, I wanted the Hawks to get up. I found myself cursing and hostile over a game in which my beloved Demons were not involved. Today, Jake Stringer was allowed to get away with the most blatant throw I have ever witnessed. Three umpires saw it and rubber stamped it as fair play. It was a one hand sling that doesn't belong in this great game. The commentary team were seemingly paralyzed, and hardly spent a sentence to question this travesty! I know there are many debatable disposals in every game, and we should expect a few to go without penalty... but this was so openly blatant that I think it epitomizes the illness that has invaded our code. The call from above to keep the game moving, the blatant greed of the broadcasters to get goals so they can advertise, the glazed eyes of our adjudicators, who no longer understand or have a feel for the spirit of the game... all of these agents of erosion have joined forces with the result that the great game is corrupted!
