  1. ahh, i never saw anything come out from him.. i live in melbourne btw, but have a solid grounding in league. the culture is very different to afl. and i work in disability support, so it really bothered me, apart from just being a really ****ty thing for him to have done at the time. but look, like i said, we all make mistakes and this was just really public. i just don't like the way he niggles and wastes time and 'manages the game' with the ref, etc.. but he is smart. definitely has a football brain. i wouldn't argue against that. geez, the panthers nearly had them at the end.. i have never in my life seen a side turn down a goal attempt either.. such a strange game?!
  2. yes i was aware of that jack. funny though, I very nearly wrote nathan broad type, as i was impressed with his toughness and desperation during the GF.. amazed to see he's available atm too? be awesome to get either of them. def upgrade for us. killer instinct x 2.
  3. i am pretty sure they didn't.. of course it wasn't his fault (the incident) but he should have come out and apologised/addressed it. maybe it was because he was a lot younger and bit more stubborn, but he's certainly not perfect and certainly not 'the greatest ever'. but aside from that, he did speak really well after the game last night. not perfect, but who is?
  4. higgins has been one of my faves since he came on to the scene.. happy go lucky, gives his all. SIGN HIM UP. i'll be [censored] if he ends up anywhere else. happy to lose hunt, macs, hannan, preuss, etc and only get brown, smith and higgins.
  5. as a nswelshman, everyone respects the storm organisation. so this whole 'everyone is against us, no one thought we could do it' rubbish is, well, rubbish. very essendon/pies. the reason everyone has hated the storm was all the maroons in their team. now its full of kiwis and other pacific islanders..and blues, the hatred is less. cameron smith is a dirty, time-wasting, no-good hack. he has skills, but is very over-rated. see how he dealt with the incident where alex mckinnon lost the use of his legs during a game. not an apology. I realise that as most of the dees on here will support the storm (if they care at all about 'the rugby') i will get feedback on this, but it is true.
  6. far out i hope we can pick up a hard-at-it small/mid.. someone like jack higgins with tidy skills, goal sense and pressure. not too hard surely?!

completely agree.. as others have said, high ball drop and a bit dumpy, but it comes with where he gets the ball.. if he could take a few steps and also work on his technique, that’d be ace

if the rating options are: excellent, very good, good, poor, then yes, oliver is a good kick.
  9. Don't they say the Saints and Dees fanbases are around the South East of Melbourne? Bayside, etc..? I can see a merge potential there, also, what a marriage! Bayside 64/66 FC. Lol. Bulldogs aren''t going anywhere (the 'Western' saves them - a key to a developing region). North are in big trouble for sure. They play for a inner city suburb and have a low fan base. Growing up a League fan, I have seen the pain caused by mergers.. They never work. Even if the clubs win premierships/flags.. They lose their soul. May as well just go down to the VFL/state league to play and keep the identity..

  14. i'm normally all over the draft boards, blogs and podcasts, but loving the fact i can have a break from all that weird addictive news chasing re: draft and trade period.. looking forward to getting into the EPL instead. see you in march dees!
  15. soft as angel hair.. i’d trade him for a skilled mid.
  16. Brown, Mihocek and Jackson/Weid.. with a combo of Kosi and Spargo/Hunt crumbing..?

    i'm anticipating around 8 retirements ?
  18. the difference is i don't think we have heard rumours on our players.. apart from hogan, am i forgetting anyone? or maybe thats just cos we didnt have players of the level to be targeted?
  19. as they should be! maybe they finalised that they should be playing finals this year.. could also be that they realise that they won't go far with the current set-up and that time is wasting away..
  20. NO ONE should be offered 5 years.. unless its trac ?

admittedly i was a few beers in.. but i feel like i was trying to focus on his output.. oh well, who knows. i'm not against getting saad by any means, but just don't want to sign another player with average skills, if he's got em, great

to me, its just the odd times he does those dinky kicks.. he's tough, brave, by and large elite by foot and a great teammate who seems to gel with everyone else. great game today. i agree. bog today.
