Expectations for 2025
Finals and a finals win at the MCG but I think weâll be outclassed in the 2nd or 3rd week of the finals.

Former MFC President Joe Gutnick calls to make club-shaking moves
I have to say itâs pretty naive of Green to meet with Gutnick. He should know that Gutnick is a regular source for the Herald Sun and hence anything spoken about could be leaked to the media. I really hope Green sent Gutnick a text msg telling him to [censored] off and then blocked his number after the article was published.

Pert and Roffey - The Review Thread
Can someone please explain to me the Garry Pert hate? Genuinely interested in the rationale. Arenât all our problems essentially with the footy department or is there something that Iâm missing?

Christian Petracca
So since Petracca has threatened to leave, heâs caused 1) A president to resign 2) An external review to be undertaken Really interested to see what gets added to this list as the next 6 months unfolds.

Add Papley to that list. One of the biggest wankers in the AFL, as thick as they come, tried to leave his club, yet⊠Swans supporters love him now because heâs put it behind him and winning finals for them.

NON-MFC: Finals Week 01
In some ways this helps the Giants get to a grand final easier. Theyâll beat Brisbane at Engie or Carlton if they somehow make it and then Iâd back them to beat the Cats at the MCG.

Great to see. Pity the game wasnât a great spectacle.

Hawks Rebuild
Mitchell is the ace in the pack. Heâs going to win multiple flags as coach and the Hawks knew this when they got rid of Clarko.

Pert and Roffey - The Review Thread
I hope any review they do looks at our high performance management. Been poor since Burgo has left. I know Griffith was supposed to be his apprentice but weâve got clear deficiencies in our fitness. If weâre serious about turning things around in a hurry, Iâd throw the cheque book at Peter Burge. The Hawks are clearly the fittest team in the comp and heâs also got runs on the board as he was at Richmond during their 3 flags.

NON-MFC: Finals Week 01
The closeness Mitchell has with his players looks special. Reminds me of Goody with our group in 2021.
-
NON-MFC: Finals Week 01
When was the last time the Dogs won a final in Melbourne? 2016?
-
NON-MFC: Finals Week 01
Port havenât won a final since 2021 yet were the club in turmoil.
-
NON-MFC: Finals Week 01
Watching a Qualifying final just blows my mind that we had 4 chances to make a prelim and blew every one of them in â22 and â23. Statistical chances of that happening would be awfully low.

Hopes for 2025
To become the best ground ball team in the comp like we were in 2021
-
2025 fixture wishlist
No Saturday night games No night games against interstate sides at the MCG.
-
NON-MFC: Finals Week 01
If the Cats go out in straight sets (very possible) will they get the same heat after winning a flag as we did? No finals and straight sets is worse than 2x straight sets.

Christian Petracca
Considering his brother ran through a Collingwood banner for his own wedding (source Instagram) then the comment by Tracâs Dad at the B&F that âWeâre a Collingwood familyâ really does hold true.

Unfortunately with the way AFL media is, this will hang over the clubâs head for the next 12 months until the next trade period. Having said that, a lot can change in 12 months such as: 1) the Dees have a successful season and win at least one final at the MCG 2) Dees have a poor year and somehow the Pies have the trade capital 3) Dees have an average season however the Pies are no longer in the window/Blues donât have the cap space I actually think the Pies will finish bottom 4 next year due to their aging list and injury issues. Even if we do struggle on-field next year, the Pies might not look appealing anymore. Weâre going to be the most under pressure team next year. The last time that happened, we won a flag. Call me an optimist, but hopefully this fork in the road brings about some change needed.

KOZZY A DEMON FOR LIFE!!!
This is why I rate Bevo so highly. He did an amazing job pulling that club back together. He also doesnât take [censored] from the media, his take down of Tom Morris is honestly something Goody should take a leaf out of.
-
KOZZY A DEMON FOR LIFE!!!
If we had won the flag in â22 or â23 no one would be caring all that much. The problem is everyone thought this group would win multiple flags.
-
KOZZY A DEMON FOR LIFE!!!
Why has Morris mentioned that Pickettâs reason is âdirection of the clubâ? Thatâs completely false. How does channel 9 let that go on the air? Also I believe @WalkingCivilWar mentioned that Kozzyâs partner has family in Melbourne which has been helpful with the new baby.

Darren Burgess Potential Return to Victoria
The Crows had the hardest fixture out of anyone. They actually had some decent form the back half of the year. Surely Burgess still studies this stuff to improve. His approach of the May hamstring in the 2021 finals seemed almost academic in nature.

If only Luke Jackson hadnât leftâŠ
Was very poor last night I thought. Why wasnât it just him in the ruck?
-
14th
One spot off bottom 4 is pretty damning, but 11 wins is still decent.

NON-MFC: Round 24
Safe to say Richmond, North and West coast will all struggle again next year so that could be 6-0 for us.
