Have been watching some highlights of our wins earlier in the year during that 6 game streak , seriously I think some of us forget too easily how good Jesse is and could potentially be next year. The emotional roller coaster of a 300+ trade thread and a positive finals series minus an injured Jesse seems to have diluted perceptions of his worth to the team If we lose him now the compo will need to be A+ , I’m still hoping that freo have [censored] up this trade and we get to keep him at least for one more year ! I read somewhere that Neville Bruns has tried on a number of occasions to speak with leathal and every time he’s not wanted a bar of him. Says alot IMO . Kind of puts the gaff and Bugg incidents in perspective , both very remorseful and sorry for their actions, and thinking of the victim and the impact of their actions Lethal on the other hand was probably just sorry he got caught . I guess also much better than the desperate last resort option of meeting some shady character (4 persons removed) in some back laneway in Richmond one hour before the game and parting with a few hundred hard earned. I’m just a regular MFC member, a ticket in 2000 was relatively straightforward IIRC, but not sure how much harder it would be nowdays with the extra Gill corporate packages to compete with? , how many tickets do clubs tend to get allocated for members ? and then may also depend on how many of MFC members are also MCC (pretty high compared to others) . I doubt we’d have many taking up the GF reserve package just yet , at least compared to other clubs , but I guess don’t premium memberships have GF ticket guarantees already included ? anyways all very hypothetical still ... need to slap myself for even thinking about GFs yet . I haven’t attended any afl final since the 2002 semi - so my only wish is to go along to the G and watch the dees at least once in September !!!!

Congrats and best of luck to Lewy on a massive milestone this weekend ! Whilst he can be somewhat of a polarising player on demonland , I’ve always been grateful that he joined our club, I think what he has provided in experience, leadership and on field coaching to our younger group has been invaluable. Well done on a stellar career and hopefully there’s at least one more finals campaign in there!!

However my delusional side still hopes for a 98 or 2000 esc momentum ride into the top 4. I guess we have an enigma factor so really anything’s possible. I also think there’s still a few twists to play out yet , as the weekend just showed, so trying not to get too carried away with the ladder predictor. I’m hopeful of beating one of either Adelaide or Geelong, then GC and then probably one of Sydney or GWS, would prefer Sydney so hopefully it’s all settled by round 23 and it’s just positioning for a home final that we are then concerned about?. Either way in all of our remaining games we are a genuine 50/50 proposition, and GC an expected win (always a dangerous proposition with us) so I would back us to get at least 3 wins out of 6 and our % carry us over the line.
