  1. Would depend on who is in power, but in all likelihood this is correct. Probably won’t be named after him, but it’ll be the physical embodiment of PJ’s legacy.

I think it comes down to a sheer lack of respect for North. Why would anyone want to go there? And I just feel that Gaff is about more than money.

Our initial offer was 7 years, before he had an amazing season & pushed his price up. I’m told our offer is the same as West Coast’s, not sure if that extends to the length of the deal.

I’m quietly confident too, but I’m not really sure why. I don’t know him, and what I’ve been told is that the club itself expects him to go to North if he comes back to VIC. We shall see.

Honestly just taking the [censored] with that one. I heard a month or 2 ago we were looking into Hall, but nothing since regarding him. I believe he is seen as a fallback option if we miss out on Gaff, which is unfortunately likely.

    Sunny days ahead

I reckon today he well & truly earned his place. They both did. The thing is, Lever can be so damaging with his ability to create instant turnovers.
  8. I think some underestimate the advantage gained in mismatches created by moving a player between a KPF role and a midfield role. Forcing the opposition to make changes on the fly is where you create opportunities.
  9. Current value as a KPF who has suffered a season-ending navicular injury? Just think about the perception of that in the marketplace: suffers navicular injury, then quickly put up for trade... I think his value on the market has never been lower. Most clubs would be wary of offering too much.

Most supporters in general, of all clubs in all sports, I think you’ll find.
  11. FFS, my recollection was that I was FOR Melksham’s recruitment. Wonder what I would have said if I was against it!
  12. Potting Hogan is premature and/or misguided. I think he’s carrying an injury.

This naiive sort of appraisal is what sees a club walk away with empty hands, and contend for nothing. We won’t sign Gaff by winning a bidding war; there is more to the equation the just $$$ And it’s all relative; Gaff would rather earn a massive amount of cash in the right situation, than a relatively slightly more massive amount of cash at a club where it’s an uneasy fit. Culture is everything, and we have it. Whitfield or Kelly would be just as great, but are they even available? Are they likely to jump ship on GWS? Would they cost the same $$$ and tradable assets? Gaff is the FA looking to come back to Victoria. Don’t be distracted by longshot potential scenarios for other similar players.

Over-age player in the TAC Cup, has injuries, hasn’t got the same exposed form but has promise, was a late pick last year when his brother went at pick 2, so was overshadowed fairly significantly. I think myself and most dees supporters only paid attention because he was a Brayshaw.

Mark Brayshaw’s interview brings some much needed perspective to the feeding frenzy. I wish he’d spoken sooner, but I’m sure he was careful not to minimise such an act prior to judgment. This incident has come to be about more than just Gaff & Brayshaw.

If he still had a foot in the Eagles nest, I think they may have lost it now. The strategy of trying to minimise Gaff’s culpability due to being provoked and the false claim that they played golf, may have actually irked the Gaff camp due to the likelihood it will result in a greater penalty than expected. I’m predicting 10 weeks.

I actually think it was quite similar, in that he was aiming lower and missed.

Personally, I’ve heard nothing regarding Gaff. Cards are being held close to the chest for now.

Can’t see why anyone would give all those details then suddenly go coy about the name of the “young mid”... This guy is just having a laugh.
  20. Interesting questions & pondering, and I think we will struggle to know the answers with any great certainty.
  21. I believe that was an impression of Saty fawning over the other midfielders and commenting on their mod-like attributes.
  22. I fail to see where anyone has made that claim. Absurd conclusion to make.
  23. Then you don’t understand the impact it has on the club.
  24. Players, coaching staff and club admin all in the one place. Having them separated creates a significant disadvantage. You don’t want the football dept having to travel miles to get to the training track.

Probably trying to wind up Garry.
