PREGAME: Rd 12 vs Fremantle
McAdam was disappointing but still laid 6 tackles. Another game under his belt should hopefully have him primed for Kings birthday. This will be a pretty tough game. Freo have their contest game back on track again and their ball movement off half back has really killed teams on the offence. Petty's foot is obviously cooked so it's looking likely that Ben Brown will come in for him being the only change.

Mac Andrew
Yeepp... going to be a star this kid and have called this from day 1 since his junior days. He's always had the athletic power and speed but his general footy nous is starting to come together. The one that got away unfortunately due to AFL being so reactive off the Jamarra selection.

GAMEDAY: Rd 11 vs St. Kilda
This is a very popular term that gets used a lot in AFL circles and suburban and country league level Playing the quarterback role, it's pretty simple term where it's based around using a half back flanker that is an elite ball user who can set up from half back through pin point disposal or provide run to create overlap and gain metres. Guys like Lachie Whitfield, Kiddy Coleman, Adam Saad are some who are elite in this area. Salem and Bowey are two for us who have played that role for us over the last few years.

2024 Game Style
Yeah nah. We're not achieving success this year. Last year was our 1998. Had we not lost Melksham and Petty (who was in unreal form) then we would have played off in the grand final at least. All the stats at the time and the ones On The Couch showed us at the time, had us right in the top tier premiership team. We were playing a brand that was well equipped to win the whole thing. 2023 will always be known to me as the closest opportunity to a flag that got away from us.

PREGAME: Rd 11 vs St. Kilda
There's an attempt to chase and then there's desperation. Unfortunately he just gave up way too easily and it didn't look good at all. He wasn't the only one on the day but this particular incident certainly stood out the most. Howes played his best footy and got recruited off the back of playing as a floating tall similitude to Jack Gunston. I wonder if this is something the club will trial over the next 12 months? To me he's still a but shaky in defence and whilst 10 games so far this year is a good starting point, I really think he'd be a good option up forward.

Back playing country footy.

Time to Blood Jeffo
Ed Allan who is making his debut for Collingwood was the kid I desperately wanted for the Jefferson pick. I was quietly devastated when we overlooked him.. Keen to see how he goes tonight.

Because he hurts your feelings all the time? 😅 Not surprised, doesn't take much with you.

AFL Mid-Season Draft 2024
199cm tall defender who's had some injury problems over the years. If injury hadn't impacted him the general consensus is that he could have been a top 20 pick. He's certainly got the talent. Has only played the 2 coates league game so far this year. Still think we need to add to our midfield depth.

NON-MFC: Round 11
I'm a big Kane Cornes fan but he's missed the point here. The landscape in the player trade industry has changed over the years, contracts mean nothing now. Once a player nominates a club which he did with Sydney, then realistically we've got to find the best deal possible for the club. We didn't help out a contender, we had no other choice because that's where Grundy wanted to go. Yes we could have held him ransom to his contract and all that, but doing that would have benefited no one in the long run. The Grundy Melbourne relation was never going to work so we had to trade him off. Grundy is obviously playing good footy and well on his way to success and Max is hopefully on his way to a 7th All Australian. Both came out winners in my eyes.

My point is go back and have read again, and then have another go.

NON-MFC: Round 11
You don't need an elite ruckman to win games.. You can get away with having a solid enough ruckman to fill in the position purely to compete in ruck contest and nullify his opponent in stoppage and around the ground. Max is a once in a generation talent in that department, you're never going to find anyone of similar ilk. Think back to when Cam Pederson filled in for Max when he did his hamstring in 2017 and done a fantastic job as an undersized but mobile ruckman. Competed like a lion and yet we were still able to win some big games with Max out. You cannot tell me the last two premiership ruckman in Rhys Stanley and Darcy Cameron are anywhere elite in any form lol. Paying stupid money for Grundy whilst thinking that bringing in another genuine number 1 ruck to help out was bizarre list management at the time. If they wanted a back up ruck then go the cheaper version thats out there. Grundy was never a second fiddle ruckman and never has been. We then went into panic mode and tried to turn him into a key forward at VFL level which again was strange by us. He's back playing his natural position and doing well up the Swans.

NON-MFC: Round 11
Underachievers?? Under Horse they've played in 4 grand finals and a massive amount of finals. It's bloody hard enough to win a final let alone make a grand final and they've done exceptionally well under his guidance. You say they get help from the academy yet tonight they only had 4 players in their line up. Compared to the likes of GWS and Gold Coast that's nothing. One of their best players in Chad Warner and arguably top 5 player in the comp is from WA. If you think they're underachievers then what do you make of us with the list and talent we've had on display. Elite defence, elite midfield line up led by arguably the greatest ruckman of the modern era and a sound forward line. I think I know who the underachievers are and it's certainly not Sydney here.

Our Best Kick Inside 50
Jake Melksham peak 2018 could absolutely sizzle them 50m low and flat.

Farewell Neville Jetta
He played a one off game for Corowa Rutherglen the other week the nuffy fan boy in me had to go and watch obviously. He hasn't lost any of his touch and still dominated. Too some him up around his character he played the one off game with no match payments.. just wanted to help a mate out. All class.

PREGAME: Rd 11 vs St. Kilda
Other clubs had their fair share injuries as well during finals. Every team are carrying banged up players through the finals. The ongoing excuses that supporters continue to trot out.. The record speaks for itself. Our september record since 2021 is 0-4, there is no sugar coating this. The immense pressure this club will have on its shoulders come september to avoid this hoodoo will huge and we don't deal with pressure and expectations well. Based on what I've seen so far I've seen nothing to suggest we've approved from 2022-2023. The stats will back that up.
