  1. Ok.. so now channel 7 is completely the opposite...
  2. Prepared to be annoyed. He's already met with Brisbane and reports are he's liking the security of having a 3 year deal on offer. Don't blame him.
  3. Adelaide aren't going to be in a better position draft wise this time next year. They will most likely play finals which means their first round pick drops down to the mid teens and may be used on their future father son in Welsh who looks like a bona fide early first round pick.
  4. Certainly not out of the question by the looks of things.
  5. Paging @goodwindees....
  6. Yeah did not sound convincing one bit. Definitely wants to get back home by the sounds of it. Human side of me says we should just respect his wishes and just cash in now while we can.
  7. Gross
  8. Cal Twomey just said that it's down to Melbourne and North vying for pick 1.
  9. Don't mind the price we paid. He's someone that can come in straight away and have a significant impact. If I jury he's capable of kicking 30 plus goals.
  10. The only one who thinks so is Kane Cornes. We all know it can work.
  11. You've certainly missed my point which was purely around the current midfield depth we have on our list as we speak. The reason why Harmes, Jordon and Dunstan couldn't get in was because they were simply depth players who were able to step in and fill in for Oliver when he was out. We were just very lucky that Petracca, Viney and Brayshaw (bar the last two games) didn't miss games at all last year throughout the season. Jordon and Harmes were experienced players who did well at times to step in straight away and impact at senior level. It's all good and well to stay Bowey Rivers and McVee can step into midfield roles but then they're leaving holes down back due to their class and run that they provide which sets us up well. Again, my point with midfield depth is that I'll once again say that Brayshaw is one big hit away from retirement and Oliver has deep personal battles that will need extensive time to heal and manage. As it stands Woewodin is the only pure midfield depth that we have that can step in when needed next year. Even dating back to 2021 we had solid soliders in Vandenberg, Jones and Jordon ready to step in when needed to provide cover. I've already explained the ruck depth issue as well. We had the luxury this year of having a quality depth in Grundy stepping in when Gawn was out. Right now its Varrell who is a rookie list player with 0 games behind him and Fullerton who like I said, is forward more then a genuine ruck.
  12. Just can't see North accepting that. I'd love to dream but with the way Reid is talked about as a generational talent you'd think they'd still ask for more. It's certainly the most intrigued watch on a number 1 draft pick in years.
  13. Going with the limited list spots available on our list, I highly doubt it.
  14. The last two games these two played as forwards, they both combined for a total of 14 goals. I think we'll be fine in this department thanks Kane.
  15. Yeah nah, he didnt go to a new level at all. He played the same support role he's played majority of his career which is good because all good teams need role players.u Stats wise his last 5 games as a midfielder he only averaged around 15 disposals per game. I'll repeat again, he'll never be a top line midfielder in the elite category. But what he needs to do is step up further next year and start averaging 20-23 disposal per game next because we can't continue to rely on Oliver, Petracca and Viney to do majority of the grunt work week in week out. He's 24 next year, no reason why he can't jump into those type of numbers as a midfielder.
  16. Spot on. I think one of the biggest concerns through this trade period is not being able to address our midfield depth at all. It's very thin on paper. We've just moved on Jordon and Harmes who were both the 23rd and 24th player that were ready to step in when either a Oliver, Brayshaw or Viney had to miss games. Even Luke Dunstan retiring leaves us further lacking in this department. Right now, the next best available option is Woewodin and that's it. Brayshaw is one hit away from potential retirement and Viney will be 30 next year. Then there is the obvious concerns with Oliver as well. I don't ever see Sparrow ever being a top line midfielder and I think at best he's just an honest battler who's happy to fill in gaps when Petracca and the likes need a breather. Was hoping we'd go after a mature age ruck to at least just have in the background. If Gawn goes down then it's left to Fullarton who's not even a genuine ruckman but more a forward, and then a 19 year old Will Varrell.
