Not really... he's been pretty poor this year post injury. Had it not been for Salem's injury I would have dropped him for AMW.

He's been quoted as using this same philosophy at the Swans when he had the likes of Goodes, Hall, Kirk, Micky O etc. I'm also a big believer in this. Every player has a price and a trade capital. I think a genuine fresh start could actually benefit him similar to how Jesse Hogan is reaping those benefits. It won't happen though, no one will touch his contract.

Yeah I'm genuinely perplexed at this. This coaching group never cease to amazing me of late with some of the more bizarre coaching decisions they pull out of their backside.

As Paul Roos once said, "Every player is tradable" If the right player and offer was there for us then I have no doubt the club would look at it. No one is going to take the lengthy contract hovering above his head but.

Max had all the attributes of a solid ruckman that had potential. What he's showing now he showed at VFL as well as winning a best and fairest for Casey. I haven't seen anything from Varrell that suggest he's got those athletes attributes that he can bring to AFL level. On a side note AMW was very impressive.

I'm not entirely sure if Will Varrell will make it. He struggles to hold his marks and there were certainly moments there in the last quarter he should have held onto a few grabs that came directly to him but soft hands meant he dropped way too many. If you're not at least a solid enough mark as a ruckman then you're going to struggle at the elite level.

Good lord no.. Absolutely horrific by foot and constantly butchers it. His career average disposal for a midfielder is 11 which is rated as below average. No thanks.

We had Trac play against West Coast and Fremantle and that made no difference. The overall game plan is cooked.
