  1. The talk at the time coming off a very poor 2019 was that we severely lacked outside players who could deliver the footy and provide outside run as we had a plethora of inside mids but zero outside ball use. Draft experts noted Hayden Young was the absolute perfect fit for our list needs but also was best available after Rowell and Anderson. I know Jackson played some part in our grand final win like 21 other blokes on the night so I'll be appreciate of that. But I've watched Young closely since his AFL debut and then again his BOG performance Friday night and in my honest opinion he'll be a star of the comp. I wasn't entirely sure at the time when at a crucial stage in out development in nailing those early picks in the draft, we reached for a athletic ruckman who was said to need improvement on his contested marking. But the moment we drafted him I threw my full support behind Jacko. Unfortunately hindsight is wonderful but ideally yes when you have an early pick as we did we probably needed to take that safer option.
  2. I don't get it either. Gawn was slaughtering us in the ruck by either trying to grab it or hitting directly to WB player. I feel our midfield stoppage work was better when Jackson is in there because we become less predictable. See Brisbane game when we smashed their midfield apart.
  3. Because its funny trying to watch you weasel your way through this thread making absolute zero sense as always. You made yourself look very silly with my sarcasm comment and tried to dig your way out. "They both won and both lost" when trying to justify a draw.. enough said.
  4. Pressure was non existent last night. The zero tackles inside 50 proves that.
  5. We built our game last year on forward half turnovers and pressure. Last night was the complete opposite to that. Bailey Dale was able to waltz out of the back half far too easy and set up their counter attack without any pressure. Having the no tackles inside 50 is disappointing considering this was our benchmark 12 months ago
  6. Played 2 good quarters and then went missing in the 2nd half. He had 5 disposals for the last two quarters. Still not doing enough for me.
  7. Well yes? That's exactly what it is? Of course we're clearly not going to go unchanged when we have Lever to come back in 🤦‍♂️
  8. We're not winning it this year. Have accepted this for a number of weeks. Far too many concerns in all positions of the ground and we are not even close to rectifying them at all.
  9. Because that's how predictable we are. It's no so much bangingbto Engish it's the fact that we continue to bomb it to Gawns head at every opportunity. How Goody hasn't picked up on this is confusing.
  10. Sums up my feelings for the game. No words to describe it.
  11. No we're not. Trengove was good, but it wasn't up to the standard and class of Brayshaw.
  12. I give up with selection this year. In saying i think we'll go in as unchanged.
  13. So why on earth does a key forward need to spend that amount of time on the bench for goodness sake? He's our only key forward of the night and Goody sees fit to keep him on the bench for for 30% of the night. So realistically going off this, we were just bombing it on Fritsch head half the time while Weid just sat on the Bench... Bizarre coaching really. In comparison Harry McKay averages over 90% TOG this year.
  14. May only went forward because he was following Bruce as they had dropped numbers back in the last 2 minutes.
  15. What was his Time on Ground stat?
  16. Seriously spare me this weak minded excuse. If your willing to put yourself out on the field then you're telling everyone that you're clearly fit enough. If you're playing on one leg tonight then absolute stupidity to let a player play on a bung leg while we have a fit player sitting on the bench. Why could they sub him off with his 'one leg' as you called it. The doggies took full we advantage of this and exposed him out on the wing going forward. It was very evident to see.
  17. Some really poor individual performance tonight mostly from our leaders once again. Why on earth was Gawn trying to grab it out of the ruck time and time again to then take the tackler. He coughed up the ball straight to a doggies player by doing this all night. Embarrassing performance. ANB - I love his defensive tackling and pressure but my god give the first option Nibbler! Another you wants to take the tackler on at every opportunity and cough it up by either not giving first option or fumbling crucial ground balls. Sprago - what on earth is his role? He's simply been poor for a number of weeks and yet we're not getting any value at all off him. Harmes - God awful Jackson - God awful Brayshaw - Turnover galores tonight. May - Stop spraying blokes when you're half the problem. Tomlinson - Was he on JHU in those couple of goals he kicked?. Jordon - Slow, fumbly and even more slow to react. All in all a very disappointing performance all round. You could actually predict how the game was going to go at the start of that last quarter. You knew that if Doggies continued to bring heat and play that chip and then corridor, we would be exposed once again. Our once elite defence from last year has turn to absolute [censored].
  18. Times running out now. Our game plan is still a mess because teams have worked us out. Get us through the corridor and we're cooked.
  19. Mentally soft. What do you expect when your captains puts in one of the most insipid performance. Gawn, Jackson, Harmes and Spargo were all absolutely embarrassing. Besides Gawn, you could easily mount a case for all 3 being dropped. We're not top 4 standard team at the moment and have said this since the Geelong loss. We have far too many concerns with our game being so bloody predictable. So [censored] angry..
  20. Spargo not giving that hands off to Melksham had cost us any momentum we we had going.
