What a great stat. Just shows how important it is to banks the wins in the 2nd half as much as it is in the first. Start it off by getting a win against the bombers.
-
Yeah considering that's actually never happened in the history of AFL, I think we'll be sweet in that regard cob.

If Ben Brown doesnt play the rest of the year

This is why I hate when we lose. Every single troll that go into hiding come out and pot at every opportunity. Imagine having a life feasting more on the negatives then positives. -
If Ben Brown doesnt play the rest of the year

What's his priority then? -
Max is about to have a week's rest....
-
I noticed Tom Sparrow did it a couple of times also and got pinged. This is the kind of [censored] that rubs onto the younger players. If I see it again against the bombers then coaching staff have done nothing to rectify the situation.
-
How on earth did Petracca get a coaches vote....
-
In his post game conference Goodwin named Jones, Vandenberg, Melksham and Jetta as players who've been in strong form in the match simulation trainings. Also confirmed Viney will be ready as well. Will play in the match simulation/intra club next Saturday.
-
The fact that Mitch Brown was named first emergency, and in stand by for Tom McDonald if he had to shoot off for his wife's birth. Pretty self explanatory..
-
Good point.

To say we have missed Viney is an understatement. I want him back into the team more then anything. The issue though is match fitness. If the VFL happens to resume this week then surely he plays 3 quarters at least to give him prime position to come in against the Bombers. Ins: Viney, Mitch Brown/Ben Brown Outs: Weideman, Chandler

As you say, while those numbers don't exactly set the world on fire, it's slightly alarming in a way. I think it's fair to say Supporters cannot question Goodwin for not giving Sam a fair go. Unfortunately for his sake he just simply hasn't grabbed his opportunity.
-
I think what's concerning for Sam is that the players clearly lost/no trust in him as a playet. There was multiple times yesterday where Sam was one out on with Moore in the deep 50 and we just didn't want to go the long option. Instead players would rather go for that 1 too many handball, or go the wider option instead. 2 examples; Gawn gets a free kick just outside 50, and Weideman is deep inside the square with Collingwood defender by his side. Gawn holds the footy up and instead goes a wide option to Pickett who literally has 3 Collingwood opponents on him. The other one was McDonald running into goal and having Weideman all by himself for the quick handball over the top for a certain goal, yet McDonald refused to do the team thing and instead went for the shot.

Isn't this the same dude that throws these kind of statements every year and turns out to be wrong?

This topic made my blood boil today! Petracca and Oliver were two of the biggest offenders. It was seriously a pathetic display from two so called leaders. They literally gave goals to Collingwood directly from not giving the first option and instead wanted to take the tackler on. This hit needs to seriously stop! If Goodwin was fair dinkum then these two idiots get a well deserved spray after the game. Take a leaf book out of Jordon, who knows his limitations and just gives to the first option that presents in front of him. Plays the team structure incredibly well.
-
I'll go for the two positives for me and it was Jackson and Jordon. Jackson was the only forward willing to apply any pressure and was rewarded for that run down tackle. His around the ground work is phenomenal. Jordon played 56% game time and cracked in with 23 disposals at 84% disposal efficiency. He played team first football and not this junk Hollywood crap Oliver and Petracca were dishing up.
-
I'm a big believer in this also.

Right, full credit to Collingwood. Considering the key players they had missing they executed and beat us to our game. Well done to them. Second of all I am putting the acid on our so called senior leaders. Petracca and Oliver can seriously jump into a trash bin. What the actual [censored] was that? The Hollywood style football they were dishing up was killing us especially when they were trying to take on one too many tackles. Petracca's disposal was absolutely putrid and just kept turning it over going inside 50. Oliver needs to seriously do something about his goal kicking. It will kill us come finals. If I see one coaches vote or a best and fairest vote from either I'll [censored] spew up. I'm sorry but I said this last year and Max Gawn isn't a leaders [censored]. Time and time again his useless taps to open space for Collingwood to pounce just killed us today. Has been doing it all year and yet we haven't rectified it. I could believe when he kicked it into the forward pocket to Pickett against 3 other Collingwood talls. Can the podcast for a while Max and focus on getting your connection with the mids because you got taught a lesson by a no namer. Our defence was absolutely woeful. Lever, May and Petty were lazy and crap. Lever needs to actually read the game at times and just man up an opponent when it's there because dar too often he left his opponent far too open. The coaching staff will back Petty in and he just needs experience, but that's one game he'd rather forget. And lastly, we made another selection blunder but selecting Weideman. Was gobsmacked he was given another go. Today just proves what I've been saying the last few weeks and he's simply not a good AFL footballer. He's Michael Newton again in the way he'll dominate VFL level and suck everyone in, but he simply doesn't have the football mental capacity in being what we all thought he be. He's in his 6th year now and he's dishing up a performance that maybe you'd expect from 2nd year key forward who's finding his feet, but he's had far too many excuses now. Cut out losses at years end and take whatever you can.

Mate Jason Taylor was a recruiting manager that year..
-
I'd have more faith a packet of twisties would make more of an impact on field. Can't believe some are just waking up now to the realisation that he's an ordinary AFL player.
-
Petracca and Oliver can [censored] right off with their Hollywood [censored]!! Absolutely killing us!
-
Max Gawn 9 hitouts Max Lynch 16 hitouts. Pull your finger out skip
-
We paid money to come to our club and kick goals. Get him in and just let him work with Tmac.
-
Lol.. people just waking up now to how useless Weideman is? Dear lord.. Defence a shambles. Lever hates defending and would rather just sit out for the easy ball.. [censored] man up! Max getting taught a lesson by Lunch who's played 4 games.. that's right 4 [censored] games! This is Adelaide written all over again.

The pies are bringing us to their level. The challenge now is to get it back on our terms. Oliver needs to lift. In a quarter where we had 113 disposals for the quarter, he only had 3.
