  1. That is true.
  2. I feel like the Paul Roos and Neale Daniher days were probably the most stable we had been from an off field perspective, certainly in my time supporting the dees. There were a lot of board issues during the Daniher years but the Rev did an incredible job in keeping the players united and not caught up in all the jargon. The only behaviour issue I can think of was David Neitz getting a bouncer in a headlock at Crown Casino? Roosy was highly respected within media circles and obviously his reputation probably played a big part in that. Fair to say he also kept the players in line with his standards around culture and behaviours.
  3. Watched it last night. Most of you have covered it off fairly well. One thing that stood out to me and a good lesson to be learnt for the usual suspects on here that continue to sprout how good our environment and culture is on and off field. Matter of fact is, it hasn't been.. Goody actually confessed that there were a lot of internal issues going on inside the club with players and staff from about late 2022 to 2023, which then spilled into last year. Its why as he said, "Petracca didn't feel loved" His last answer to the question was awkward only because i do take into account it was filmed weeks prior to round one. Hamish asked, "what do we expect from Melbourne of 2025?" And Goody said something along the lines of 'Players being happy out on the MCG, smiling and loving what they're doing'. There was no reference whatsoever to change in game plan or adjusting our ball movement etc etc. My immediate thought was obviously seeing the complete opposite last Sunday with players looking completely bereft of confidence and dejected. I'm actually annoyed with the timing of this being shown last night instead of a few weeks backs. You seriously couldn't pick a worse time.
  4. Yes but there is no way he gets to us.
  5. That's pretty damning to read.
  6. Give me this kind of footy analysis everyday of the week.
  7. Without hesitation.
  8. You do realise there is a suppress order in play regarding this matter right? So yeah, it's not allowed to be mentioned amongst media and journalism. Collingwood and Essendon have had their fair share of off field matters over the years. I said this the other day, Collingwoods dates back to the rat pack days and as recent as the DeGoey and Lumumba situation.. what more do you want? I can keep reeling off a list if you'd like? This whole poor me mentality that we are the only club copping it in the media is simply cringe and a case of having your red and blue lenses on and nothing else and im not simply directing this at you only even though you're the OP.
  9. No they don't.
  10. Taking stab here but I think this interview may have been filmed weeks ago?
  11. Every media journo watching tonight.
  12. I hope so. You can probably add Laurie to that list of delisted/trade. Do the club give Campbell another year or does he retire? There is also question marks on McAdam as well and then the obvious one is Kozzie Pickett..
  13. Literally..
  14. I was at the game and It's the first time in his career where i thought he looked genuinely dejected and bereft of confidence. He's trained all pre season as a full time mid and I know in an interview late last year that he stated he really wants to push in there full time and make a name for himself. I can only imagine this would have been deflating for him that he's been reverted back to the backline.
  15. He didn't play midfield. He had zero CBA's and played at half back for the game to cover for Windaor.
  16. Completely different concept to AFL footy.. but okay. They do soccer as a flush run to get the legs and blood moving again. A good way to get sore or stiff spots out of the way. I don't agree with it personally and i know other AFL clubs dont do this at all but i prefer just some extra light touch skills with actual footballs and still incorporate some fun in it if need.
  17. Marty Hore's body is simply not made for AFL. I reckon he retires at years end.
  18. Carry over emergency.
  19. You mean Wade Derksen??
  20. He hasn't played any competitive footy this year and that's including practice games.
  21. Laurie only played a half on the weekend and he was near BOG alongside Baldi for that matter. The bloke has been unfairly treated at selection while guys like Sparrow, Spargo and the likes continue to get royal treatment each time.
  22. This isn't a blight on Melksham at all but we are in serious trouble if we are pinning our forward hopes on a 33 year old half forward who's body has let him down all summer..
