Hoping Goodwin has a huge mindset change over the summer because arrogantly rolling with the same 22 each week and with the same bland game plan cost us in the end. Us fans could see what was unfolding as the year went on and so did majority of the footy public. Yet, our coaching staff showed not a hint of plan B. Sticking with the same guys each week, who some were badly out of form, sent a complete and utter wrong message to the blokes doing the hard yards at VFL level. Clubs worked us out easily in the 2nd half of the year with our slow ball movement and our consistency of kicking it deep into the pockets. This is what worries me when we make no changes within our assistant coaches. I was a Stafford fan previously but surprised he survived another year. If we're rolling with the same forward entries come round 1 then we aren't winning it in 2023.

Will be interesting to see where he'll be trained up during the pre season group. Midfield group?

Lost count how many times he had a knack of just kicking the ball out on the full on so many occasions when he got moved into the midfield. Was infuriating.

Some footballers are just born to be great and are never satisfied with where their career are at despite his accolades so far. Looks ridiculously fit.

In fairness to Hibberd, he gave Cameron a decent touch up in both home and away games during the year. Unfortunately Hibberd like many others during that Brisbane final, were poor and badly exposed.

Mate Neeld was one of the worst coaches I've seen in my time supporting at AFL level. A player has to take some responsibility for their own actions as well and can't be left purely on the coach.

Yes you're correct. Maybe you can take a dose of this everytime you're willing to argue against me at every opportunity hey? No one is doubting his talent. He had a bucket loads of it. His work ethic at training and ability to apply himself on the track was pretty poor. That's on him, not Neeld. I mean, if he had lost interest by the time he got to North then again, speaks more of him not willing to fight for his career during his time there. The likes of Cook, Morton, Gysberts were all high draft picks who Neeld was happy turf out pretty quick which looking back now was the right decision. All 3 never troubled us at all at clubs they were traded off to.

Not sure how you can categorically state he would have flourished under Goodwin. Like what's this based on exactly? Not every high draft pick player has flourished under Goodwin. Gysberts for all his talents was an incredibly poor trainer and was usually in the bottom 3 of the time trials and didnt apply himself well on the training track. When North recruited him he turned up in poor shape and only lasted a year on the list with 0 AFL games to his name. Can't blame Neeld for every player failing. Sometimes it comes back on the player itself if they desperately want an AFL career.

This is true. I do remember clearly one by the name of Jordan Gysberts who had a very impressive junior career. Won a dozen league BnF medals coming through the ranks and was touted to be a future 200 gamer. Boy did he fizzle..

Also, don't want to come across as a debbie downer but if Kozzie Pickett does indeed head back to SA then that's another first rounder in the bank, possibly two.

Anyone know the current situation with these two? Currently uncontracted but yet there is no news on whether they have re-signed or not? I thought the cut off date was last week but yet there are clubs still delisting players today.
