Cool timing with the mid season draft just gone...
-
Try telling some of the nuffys on here who were stating this only a few weeks back.

I said last week that Sparrow had a poor game and wouldn't get dropped but tonight he was as bad as I've see him play. I'd drop him personally. Dropping Ben Brown is the easy option but there is no way bringing in Sam Weideman improves us at all. If anything it makes us worse because he's he's not an AFL standard player time and time again. I have no idea what the changes will like, but I can easily reel off 5 names I would drop straight away.

Yeah look we aren't winning a flag this year. There is so many concerns on all lines and that's not even counting that our pressure is ranked 17th in the league. Forget the umpires, our style of play from start to finish was horrible to watch. Why we continue to just rush all night by playing on or having one too many handballs to a teammate to then put them under enormous pressure is bizarre. Backline has turned to [censored]. Steven May is now our most influential and important player. When he doesn't play the rest turn to water. That's an apology to Petty who battled manfully tonight. Jayden Hunt has over 100 games of experience and he is still one of the dumbest footballers going around. Not forgetting he touched the ball 3 times tonight as a [censored] half back flank. Jake Lever is horribly out of form and it's costing us. When we need some form of leadership while May is out Lever has failed to stand up 2 weeks in a row. Simply not good enough. Our midfield is seriously all over the shop. Rushed handballs and dump kicks into either no one in particular or straight to the opposition. Petracca, Viney and Sparrow are huge butchers of the footy. Our efficiency going inside 50 is just horrific and these guys are main culprits alongside a few others like ANB who's not much chop either going forward. Really think our midfield needs a huge shake up and I'd be getting Brayshaw in there personally just to add something different. Don't get me started on the forward line.. I think this is a significant concern moving forward and beyond as the likes of Tom McDonald, Ben Brown and Mitch Brown are all 30 years of age or over, plus a former first rounder who is only a VFL standard player. Our only hope is an 18 year old kid who is still unknown. All of these guys are either badly out of form or injured and I can't see this forward structure holding up this year. Besides Pickett, our smalls are barely impacting the scoreboard. Spargo has only kicked 4 this year and ANB just the 2 goals. It's just simply not good enough. All in all a very disappointing display. Our current game style won't hold up and we could easily be out of top 4 very soon if there isn't significant changes to it.

That's game done folks.

What earth is happening? Lever had a complete brain fade and just handballs it back Into a contest after playing on when he didn't need too.
-
Tom Sparrow has been dog [censored] tonight. Coughed an easy handball straight down the end for a swans goals.
-
Jayden Hunt what the [censored] scrubbing [censored] was that!?
-
Petty was out best defender that quarter. Speaks volume where our defence is at when a guy who's played under 40 games on one leg is our best defender tonight.
-
How was Daniel Turner.
-
Oh [censored]....
-
Our supporters barely make any noise. Hasn't all year.
-
Luke Jackson is having a dead set shocker tonight
-
[censored] hell Luke Jackson...
-
And who else would have been the perfect sub then Jim..
-
Tomlinson getting an absolute bath by Reid.
-
Mitch Brown already done more then Weideman has in 2 years.

Funny that my first post went completely over your head @Baghdad Bob

Lol.. Out of all the posts on here you've taken mine completely out of context. Of course he was never going to be part of the 5 players that were coming in this week. But he was never going to be rushed in. He plays the same position as Spargo, ANB, Bedford and Pickett. He's was obviously next in line. They were 5 premierships players coming back into the team on top of having quiet game game in the VFL. I don't understand how saying he's close to AFL selection is being a stretch considering he's been named emergency a few times this year? In fact, against St Kilda he had to be pulled out of the VFL game to warm up with the senior squad. This is even a quote off Tim Lamb. “He had a strong off-season and has improved his game to the point that he has found himself on the verge of senior selection, being named an emergency a number of times for our AFL side. I suppose he's out of line as well ...

Great mindset and great advice by Goody.

Great news. Certainly close to AFL selection and even if he doesn't get a game this year a full VFL season under his belt including finals experience is just as beneficial.
-
The guy is a drunken disgrace. Go back to last year before the preliminary final game and he was so adamant that Geelong would have our measure and would knock us off.. he was more raving of them and admitted that he couldn't fully trust Melbourne at that time because he thought we hadn't been fully tested.

Whilst I think you make some really good points I disagree with Sparrow. He had a poor game on the weekend but he simply won't be dropped. Prior to the freo game his form has been solid enough and I doubt he gets dropped off the back of 1 poor game. He's playing a support role for Oliver and Petracca and does he's bit when he's giving these guys a chop out. He's sacrificing a fair bit for the benefit of our 2 superstars. Oliver and Petracca have in the past, raved on about the likes of Sparrow, Jordon and Harmes who support these guys being able to do what they on field.
-
Unfortunately I think we tried to trade him last year but there were no bites. If no one wanted him last year then no one is going to want him again this year.
