  1. Was I wrong though? Announcement via a club statement.
  2. Good work @Dwight Schrute I got excited when you broke the news then a little sheepish when i heard him speak on SEN. Threw your gonards on the line and came out on top 👏
  3. Is about to sign a new contract extension.
  4. Woohoo! On ya Gus! To all of the people [censored] canning him on please go jump in a bin. Huge signing for our culture ans team morale.
  5. Cal Twomey reporting that we tabled a multi year deal for Bedford.
  6. Stop talking sense, it does not belong in this thread. According to some on here we've been loading the moment we lost to Freo.
  7. I wouldn't either.
  8. Can someone who can open this give a brief summary?
  9. This backs up what @goodwindees was saying on here the other day wanting a lofty contract with more midfield time. What it also shows that the rumours on here of him signing a new contract with an announcement this week is completely out of wack.
  10. Summary?
  11. Yes and no Jaded. He has every right to look at what's best for his future from a playing perspective but also financial. If he wants to financially set himself up well leading to life after footy then he has every right too. Gus has a sharp business mind and this is his last opportunity to cash in to set himself up. Again, what's the issue with that? If it's not with us then he'll certainly find that at another club. I don't even see Gus as a money hungry grub as some might say. As he said on SEN, this will be his last big contract deal he'll get, so all he's doing is doing his absolute due diligence in making that it'll benefit him well moving forward.
  12. The question was put to him about whether playing more midfield time was part of the decision making and he gave the answer above. How much black and white does it need to be for you? It's been widely known he wants to play more midfield time. You're trying to find excuses in covering up the reality of what he wants, and that's significant midfield time.
  13. Sort of/not really.. It was great to win the 10 games in the row but I suppose they weren't exciting games to watch to be honest. Maybe the St Kilda and Brisbane game were the two I enjoyed the most. Doggies round 1 was food also. I suppose after we won the granny I thought we would be like Hawthorn, Geelong and Richmond in their heydays where they played such exciting brand of footy but also high scoring as well. Yeah I'm picky, I know... So many night games. Hate them. Cold miserable weather means supporters less incline to go. Living in the country 4 hours away has made attending games extremely difficult. Saturday or Sunday afternoon is the ideal slot imo. Nothing better then traditional time slot. Rolling team selection has been the biggest frustration. Goody's fascination for sticking with the same group of players over and over again when they haven't proven at AFL level when given the opportunity. VFL team is 15-0 and yet we've barely rewarded blokes who are performing week in week out especially with our young talent. Disappointing.
  14. The whole announcing that you have re-signed on a podcast is seriously the most laughable thing I've seen written. How people have fallen for this is truly amazing. When a player signs a new contract, a club has to draft up a statement of confirmation. This statement is then released via club media having ticked off for approval from club stakeholders before release. The statement is also released via email to members, stakeholders and sponsors. This is called being professional. Announcing a major resigning on a podcast that's pre recorded is the complete opposite to go about it.
  15. dazzledavey36 replied to Romey's post in a topic in Melbourne Demons
Yep. I'll be relieved when that happens as you could tell from my reaction below.
  16. All good mate, don't apologise. I think we're all frustrated, but it's the way it is unfortunately. Goody didn't exactly sound confident either in his press conference unfortunately.
  17. Steven Armstrong was delisted and Jimmy Toumpas was forced out. Completely two different scenarios.
  18. Goody would have a big say in managing loads. I'm fully aware that high performance do play a huge part on this yes final decisions are left up to them. But I'm not silly enough to think that Goody has at times probably overuled the high performance team during crucial stage in games. With this instance, I'm not sure leaving your number 1 key forward on the bench for so long was the right decision. Especially as he was in good form, yet we continued to bomb it on Fritsch's head and didn't even both to lower our eyes more with our forward entries.
  19. I've been quite vocal for his inclusion for a few weeks now. Now watch us select Mitch Brown for this weekend.
  20. Lol whoever said Gus was pretty much a done deal are kidding themselves after that interview. It's very CLEAR that playing more midfield is a high priority as part of his decision making. If that's the case then why do we continue to refuse to at least give him that opportunity. I'd much rather him in thr guys then Harmes or Sparrow.
  21. That's not the point. The main point is that we gain absolutely zero by letting him walk to the PSD. How does that benefit the club?
  22. He's not wrong.
