  1. I don't think that was ever a thing. This was based on a newspaper article from Canberra with no quotes from either manager or relative and some just ran with it. His parents are still living in Perth and both are still heavily involved with the East Fremantle Football Club.
  2. He's contracted for another year.
  3. I'm not sure we've ever been a loud and delirious crowd. I was at last week's game against North and barely heard boo from us. North on the other hand were quiet loud but that was mainly due to the umpiring decisions going against them. The atmosphere for thr Carlton and Collingwood game yesterday was nuts..
  4. Yeah look I thought Dunstan would have been a handy pick up for us from a depth perspective, but he really is one dimensional.. Yeah Goody and the coaching staff didn't have a great night in the coaching box unfortunate. People on here having their red and blue goggles on last week when trying to justify Melksham playing his role as a wingman last week have now gone missing or have remained quiet. He's been garbage this year and I honestly would have rather just given Oskar Baker a run against Freo just knowing that at least he tries to take the game on with his run and dash. Having Spargo on the other wing robbed us of his inside 50 pressure and clean delivering as well. I do get why they tried him there having already 3 smalls up forward in Pickett, Bedford and ANB.
  5. Here we go....
  6. I reckon we underestimated how big of a loss James Harmes was. Hes another big bodied midfielder that could have been swung into the midfield when it was evident Petracca was struggling with illness and had to play up forward. They tried Sparrow but he got a bit overwhelmed with it all. Harmes is at least an experienced solider who would have even done a lock down job as Brayshaw and Serong got on top of us around the clearances.
  7. Majak was a late withdrawal out yesterday for Casey due to illness.
  8. As much as Turner was close to BOG yesterday it was only his 3rd game back from injury. I would like to see him back up another performance like that in the VFL especially against a team with AFL listed KPF's. He definitely tracking in the right way though!
  9. Was named BOG yesterday for Oakleigh Chargers gathering 25 disposals and kicking 1.3 This is a pretty fine display for an under-ager.
  10. Hibberd looked a bit overweight which is as expected considering the recurring calf injuries would have impacted his ability to do much running over the past few months.
  11. Yep. You don't get excuses from either unlike some club supporters..
  12. Ellison has really impressed me. I've been a big wrap on this kid since watching him this year but Andy Moniz Wakefield has got huge upside. His so clean below his knees and rarely fumbles. His kicking skills are very very neat.
  13. Daniel Turner is having one of the best all time games you'll see from a defender. Steven May like.
  14. Young has just signed a 5 year contract extension this week.
  15. I wouldn't say he's a dominant ruckman of the competition? Has never won a best and fairest nor has he ever been in any All Australian consideration as a ruckman. Hes a solid player who was recruited due to lack of opportunities at Sydney. Which makes me think that if you target the right ruckman out there that can come in and play a solid enough role then I think we would be fine.
  16. I've always wondered this as well. But he seems heavily invested at Freo and looks like he'll be their next captain in waiting.
  17. See I beg to differ. Losing Jackson wouldn't be ideal, but I don't think it would set us back significantly as some may think. Gawn is contracted until 2025. If we were to recruit another ruckman through the draft or trade whoever that is, still has 3 years to develop under Gawny. The way i look at it is this; Geelong lost GAJ at the end of 2010 and they went on to win a flag the next year. Hawthorn lost Buddy after the 2013 flag and they went on to 2 more flags without him. I highly doubt it'll set the club back because I would back Jason Taylor and Tim Lamb to make the right choice with from list management point of view.
  18. We are Incredibly lucky to have Matty Whelan at the club. It's funny when Neville Jetta retired the first person I thought of who could step up to take on that leadership and mentoring with the next wave of indigenous kids coming through the club was Koz. He's still young in himself but he's always come across as someone who's extremely proud of his heritage and I see him playing a real leadership role moving forward.
  19. At the start of the year I would have said the opposite and wanted Jackson to stay with Gus leaving. Now it's me wanting Gus to desperately stay. Not only is he in great form but he's super important for our culture and leadership. @JimmyGadson made a really good point few weeks back. Losing Jackson isn't exactly going to be a significant loss as some may think. Yes I'll be disappointed if he leaves, but it gives me greater confidence assurance that Jason Taylor will find another top end talent with the compensation pick we get (1st rounder). To stay around the mark we need to continue to find ways to regenerate the list with top end talent. Personally I think a gun midfielder or another key position tall forward would be my number 1 priority.
  20. Goody said its a knee issue with Petty and will get it looked at.
  21. Disappointing no JVR tomorrow.
  22. Yeah I'm not a huge fan of it and never have. The concept of it is to build mental resilience, but there is also a high risk attached to that. If Petracca was sick today why on earth did he play??
  23. Bedford just needs games now. He's got tools that are AFL standard and some that need work. But in the games he's played this year he hasn't done a lot wrong. He certainly gets a game next week.
