Pretty dour performance. Schache and McDonald were non existent. Tommo up forward? You know what, I'd be willing to give it a decent shot. Was drafted as a elite running CHF from his junior days. His tank and work ethic could come handy in blowing up defenders and he's fit and ready to go. Big bodied player who could be a handy foil for JVR.

People were saying the exact same thing with Judd McVee, me including. A full pre season can do wonders for anyone.

He's playing in a year where he's had to recover from significant injury and no fitness base. He's doing just fine.

All eyes will be on Tmac. Let's not forget Schache was named emergency. Just shows he's certainly in some contention if he plays well. Goodwin did not sound all that confident that Grundy will be locked in moving forward. Played a pretty straight bat, but I think we all know Goodwin well enough to think that he knows deep down that Grundy forward experiment didn't work and we'll have to readjust.

Are you sure it was Melksham? Pretty sure it was JVR who was matched up to Weitering majority of the night and actually did a fairly good job.

Right, so we're currently sitting 14-7 and sitting 3rd. The last team to be in this exact position to go on and win a flag was Richmond in 2017. Their form heading into finals is eerily similar to ours right at this point. Richmond won 4 in a row, came up against top 4 team in Geelong in round 21 and lost by 14 points at the MCG. They then won the last two remaining games of the season and went on to have a great finals series which lead to a flag. My point, I don't think this loss against the blues sets us back one bit. I see it as a positive that we can now tinker some changes and it keeps players on edge. Win the remaining two games and then why not us???

Well said mate. Carlton dominated us majority of the night and yet we lost by only 4 points. Maybe I'm the only one who sees a positive in this? Get those selections right and go back to the system that has worked for us in the previous 5 weeks and we can absolutely go deep in September.

I was fully against Tmac inclusion, but after the Grundy forward failed experiment last night then we've literally got no other options. Do we get Schache in who's got forward craft at least until McDonald feels he's got the appropriate match fitness in his legs?

Both Sparrow and Pickett had very limited CBA minutes which was disappointing. Sparrow had a poor game and was stuck at half forward majority of the game, but at one stage.it would have been good to rotate him.through there where's he's actually been in good form since Oliver was out.
