POSTGAME: Rd 08 vs Gold Coast
My thoughts on the game. The ones complaining about how poorly we played are the same ones who said this would be an easy win in the pre game thread. You can never please them and should be ashamed to think that this would be a walk in the park. Supporters are still not getting it that you still need to respect every team you play regardless of how poor they are. GC are a good team that's being poorly coached imo. If Damien Hardwick ends up there they'll easily play finals. The QLD trip is nearly overcoming WA as one of the hardest trips on the road purely because of the climate and the fact that you're lucky to play there once every 2 years. It's still completely foreign. The game was sloppy but it was such a grinding win. Had we played this game in thr 2nd half of last year then GC simply overrun us. So just shows we're mentally improved from our 2nd half fade outs. I still hold some huge concerns with our forward line. It's a bit of a mess. That has to be Petty's last game as a forward. Either get Ben Brown in and tell him that it's time to compete and get on his bike otherwise against Collingwood and Geelong we'll be exposed big time. Now is the time to get that forward structure settled especially coming up against the likes of Hawthorn and Freo. Great win, and hopefully the lads recover well.

Harrison Petty - KPF in 2023
Experiment over.

Ben Brown and our forward line transition
Its functioning well because we've played poor teams with a poor defence. Come up against Geelong and Collingwood and we'll get smoked. Petty is an absolute liability up forward and is robbing our defence with his ability to lock down and free Lever and May up. I threw up Brown more from a tactical point of view to free up JVR in getting best and bigger defenders which he's copped the past few weeks. Other then that we're completely bereft of other forward options.

Ben Brown and our forward line transition
Don't think Ben Brown is the answer to our forward line issues. He's past his best. What he does do well is draw an extra defender or two in the AFL. I believe this would relieve much needed pressure on JVR who at times had Collin and Ballard on him. Tough ask for a kid. Petty doesn't attract the better defenders like Brown does, and that's why the forward experiment needs to stop immediately. I think Brown comes in next week and I'd just leave him there for now to build momentum and form.

PREGAME: Rd 09 vs Hawthorn
You know when D Spencer is hitting the bottle because of his inability to to control himself by making some ridiculous and outlandish comments. Wanting Fritsch who's our current leading goal kicker dropped but keeping Petty forward and bringing in Joel Smith... absolute FMD. You couldn't make this [censored] up.

Death Riding Fremantle 2023 - Feathered Cap Edition
Absolutely no way is he's still number 1 lol By your reckoning Sam De Koning should be number 1 because he's a premiership player and has higher ceiling? Played CHB for a premiership team which is just as hard as playing ruck. He's absolutely no way ahead of Kozzie Pickett as a starting point.

PREGAME: Rd 08 vs Gold Coast
Think we'll start to see Judd McVee tire out as the season goes on. Been playing senior footy since the practise games and have noticed probably the last 2 weeks that he's just slightly off his composure and timing. Salem should at least have 2 weeks maybe 3 max at Casey then by then should be good timing for McVee to have a spell.

My son is stoked. Runs around the back yard calling his name. Reminds me so much of myself when I was doing the exact same thing calling Jeff Farmer's name.- PREGAME: Rd 08 vs Gold Coast
