  1. Maybe he is sore with that crook back he had pre-season...I like him as a player when he's up and going but been underwhelming so far this season.
  2. Genuine pressure on our team to perform today as with other clubs around us losing a big jump up the ladder is there for the taking. Great test of the sides development and maturity, hope we rise to the occasion.
  3. North would have to be the most vanilla side I've seen do they have any X factor at all? Waite maybe but the rest look like B graders at best
  4. I reckon we just need one really good performance at home with the Southern/Members Stands rocking in the last quarter as we bring it home to get our form back at the MCG. I cant really see it being a gamestyle issue as to why the side has lost there so far....maybe we need to play a little more direct at the G? Lot of messing around with the footy in our losses there, way more handballs than kicks etc
  5. If he can get a decent run of not being smashed in the head he'll probably be ok
  6. She is a brute! But yeah neck problems are no joke shows how tough Jones is when he played a season with a busted neck...
  7. You might be on to something....I have a bad neck from an old injury and now its so sensitive to any contact to my head or anything around here (eg my five yo launching herself off the couch onto me).....touch it wrong and I get referred nerve pain, sickness, double vision etc for days
  8. Our form both as favourites and at the MCG has been poor this year. Need to turn it around at the home of football in particular, if nothing else but for the loyal supporters who turn up there!
  9. Way to early to write off or try to trade a player of his talent. He'll be right with a decent run at it.
  10. As soon as we our favourites we aren't in trouble
  11. Cold and wet slog at the G coming up....should suit our inside mids as long as we don't mess around with the ball too much
  12. Maxy aside are we at full strength if Hogan plays? Seems amazing considering our recent injury and suspension issues but a good result.
  13. Our intensity was good all game just the turnovers horrific in the first half. But we persisted and out worked them in the end, Bombers don't like it tough and I thought our tackling and pressure cracked them open.
  14. Very sad for Jesse and their family....I lost mine at 32 and I was a mess so at 22 I can't even imagine. Playing footy isn't important right now.
  15. Our forward line looks so much better with Jesse than without him: on that basis alone I dunno how anyone can doubt his importance to the side
  16. He was one of our best players in the second half of last year, especially in our great wins over Hawthorn and Port, and our near win against the Eagles in Perth. So we know what Dom can do at his best. Bit early to call for his axing or trade, sure he's not in top form at the moment but he can still be a key performer as he works into the season.
  17. I'm not a fan of our style of footy at the moment, could be due to lack of personnel but it's indirect, ugly stacks on style footy circa Swans of 2005. We have hundreds of possessions that seemingly end up no where and for a monster amount of inside 50s we aren't getting many shots on goal. We certainly can't score "easy" goals either. Fremantle had this problem in their strong era they would dominate the game but only be 2-3 goals up leaving the door ajar for the "inevitable" comeback. Have we recruited too many inside mids when the game has moved on? The best teams (GWS, Adelaide, Geelong) play a clean attacking style that we seem miles away from. You can see our players are absolutely stuffed from playing this grinding style: we aren't the Bulldogs and we don't have their same type of midfielders! I think the story would be a bit different with Max Gawn in there directing operations as we could spread harder from the contest but our setup is so reliant on him it's hard to see where the next win is coming from...
  18. I'm not as confident as some about this one seeing as we couldn't even beat Freo who are very average. It really depends if the team is switched on and plays with AFL standard intensity for the full 4 quarters....a repeat of last week's disgusting 3rd quarter and we won't get it done.
  19. How did we lose to Freo they are very ordinary
  20. Harmes also missed Jetta all on his own screaming for it running through the 50....
