Farewell Jesse Hogan
But if he doesn't want to go then what? He may see himself as a true Demon. This isn't a Jack Watts situation where an underperformer has been given many years to rectify his issues and couldn't or wouldn't meet the required standard. We can't just treat our players as trading pieces to be shuffled around without taking into account the impact on team morale (and as you said dynamics). How can the club demand loyalty and keep a strong list together in an environment where they'd need to accept less money if we turned around and did that? Trading Jesse who is a loved and respected figure at the club would have much bigger ramifications than just player in/player out. Football isn't the same as a straight business where the prime objective is to make as much money as possible - its a lot more emotional than that!

Farewell Jesse Hogan
Unless he requests a trade, I can't see it happening...Goodwin hasn't built the foundations of the club on strong relationships only to offload one of our most promising young stars when he's just about to peak

Farewell Jesse Hogan
Can we trade all the "supporters" who constantly bag him throughout games where I sit at the G instead?

Farewell Jesse Hogan
Bad idea. He's not going to want to go to Freo they are rubbish. And I'm not sure it's great idea to make one of our main rivals (West Coast) stronger while weakening our forward options.

Farewell Jesse Hogan
Hard to see him leaving anytime soon to play with a side that looks a fair way off finals footy....Freo have an ok list but a lot of gaps still. And playing under Ross "The Floss" Lyon! The way they move the ball he'd be lucky to kick 30 goals a season!

The Need for Outside Midfielders
Without a fit and in form Jayden Hunt we look so slow: miss him when he's at his best so badly

Farewell Dean Kent
Always injured....decent player when he's fit, but he only seems to be fit 50% of the time

WELCOME TO DEMONLAND - ED LANGDON
Would he even get a game in our best 22? Never heard of him either

Andrew Gaff
My biggest concern: if we take Gaff the Eagles will retaliate in a couple of years by offering Hogan the mother of all contracts. They would see him as the perfect replacement for Kennedy when he retires. I'm starting to think we shouldn't be too greedy with free agents and concentrate on maintaining the list we've already got.

Dylan Shiel
Gun player and you'd certainly make room for him the side, but hard to see how we'd fit him into the cap? Need to keep enough room for Brayshaw, O and Tmac and Hoges of course...

Andrew Gaff
Would finish off our midfield perfectly....unless he wants $1 million per season we'd have to be the front runners as the other clubs on that list are miles off any real success

Gaming - we are out!
Apparently Geelong and Collingwood are close to selling off all their pokies too...I assume there is a strong business reason for this, and it's more than just for the "optics"? I'm not particularly happy or unhappy we've made the decision to exit the gaming industry, I'm not much of a gambler myself and see the machines as a complete waste of time, but hey it's legal, if that's how you choose to spend your time and money go for it. You'd trust the finance guys have done the sums and agreed that this is the best way forward and the benefits of selling off the pokies venue will far outweigh the costs.

The shares in his company are up over 700% since listing on the ASX: wish word had got around I would have bought into the IPO for sure!

The Petracca v McCartin debate reprised
I reckon Trac is already one of our most important players, his explosiveness and zone busting long kicks into the forward line are real weapons. He's also a brilliant overhead mark, one out he will beat a lot of players in the air this season. Haven't seen enough of McCartin to make a call on him, just hasn't managed to get himself on the park enough....but taking a shortish key position player with diabetes who doesn't display elite fitness and conditioning at #1 is a big risk.
