The alternative go to strategy of kicking it short to Salem in a pocket is also so predictable and easy to defend because he has seemingly misplaced his precise kicking and just lobs it slowly to nobody in particular At least Hibberd ,Hunt ( when he’s playing) and even Rivers ,take on their opponents. Though not always successful they DO attempt to break the lines

Realistically we are disappointed to lose Jackson because of potential rather than actual performance. I for one would not be shedding tears if he left as long as we’re well compensated
-
Gawn - rusty but important Viney - prolific but wasteful Oliver - regularly under pressure May - great after first Petracca - surprisingly selfish game Salem - took easy options Brayshaw - a few moments Harmes - tough but loose Jackson - continued disappointing season Hibberd - was generally safe Lever - steady all game Jordon - was rarely effective Neal- Bullen - couldn’t get involved Langdon - suffered from constriction Bedford - overwhelmed by occasion Bowey - didn’t handle pressure Brown - poor second half Fritsch - totally ineffective performance Petty - was never disgraced Spargo - needn’t have arrived Pickett - another nothing game Sparrow - was rarely sighted

I can’t stand the guy but the groundsmen at Casey would love him because they wouldn’t have to water the turf as often with the amount of phlegm and saliva he expels.🙄
-
Whilst there’s NO doubt the umpiring was rigged, Lever was given a lifeline when not penalized for fumbling ( deliberately) the ball over the goal line when under absolutely no pressure.
-
Petracca - bull has returned Oliver - incredible winning desire Langdon - indefatigable running returned Salem - rarely raised sweat Jordon - reliable and consistent May - great after first Viney - continued outstanding season Harmes - tough and reliable Brayshaw - regularly repelled attacks Lever - crowd boosted performance Neal-Bullen - an efficient game Bowey - reliable and unflustered Sparrow - some important touches Fritsch - a forgettable milestone M Brown - a meh game Spargo - couldn’t get involved Weideman - hurry back Max B Brown - couldn’t impose himself Bedford - no heroics today Pickett - did just enough Petty - was rarely sighted Hibberd - better first half

Interesting that our 3 main on ballers last week, Oliver, Petracca, and Viney , were arguably our 3 best on the field, despite, or perhaps because Gawn wasn’t playing. Without Gawn to direct the ball to them far more effectively than Jackson could, the above mentioned 3 had to play different roles last week and had to rely on cunning, experience, and sheer will to attain the ball. For this reason Jackson and Gawn’s absence could very well work in our favour…. though I do wish they WERE playing.

Viney - amazing all game May - superlative in defense Jackson - outstanding after first Petracca - important when needed Sparrow - excellent tagging game Harmes - great first half Fritsch - deadly around goals Weideman - was not disgraced Bedford - some party tricks Brayshaw - impassable all game Lever - perfect defender’s game Oliver - prolific and important Jordon - made excellent decisions Neal-Bullen - some important tackles Hibberd - disposed of Cameron Salem - was rarely required Spargo - pressure was better Pickett - Some breathtaking involvement Brown - provided regular contests Bowey - quiet but classy Langdon - will get better Petty - gave opponent nothing

Gawn -played under duress Viney - disposal was haphazard Brayshaw - great third quarter Salem - still finding feet Lever - played without conviction Bowey - schoolboy footballer again Turner - limited before injury Petty - was obviously hampered Hibberd - not the answer Oliver - prolific but harmless Petracca - lost his edge Langdon - had limited involvement Harmes - all or nothing B Brown - North was right Jordon - disposal couldn’t hurt Neal- Bullen - disposal was amateurish Jackson - couldn’t take control Spargo - was never dangerous Sparrow - tried but limited Pickett - one noteworthy involvement Fritsch - delivery didn’t help M. Brown - opponents licked lips
-
He’s been separated from his ‘incredibly close/inseparable’ brothers for nearly 3 years!🙄

Ridiculous response. Our key forwards are ALL underperforming and have been given more than enough opportunities to show they’re up to it. They’re NOT!!
-
Under the circumstances, and with May returning to solidify the defense, we know what we’ll get from Harrison, and placing him at centre half forward seems the only viable solution at the moment to our underperforming forward line.

Who pays for the banner?
-
Gawn -our only winner Viney - old habits again Petracca - McCartin was better Oliver - many irrelevant possessions Brayshaw - loose, seemingly passionless Salem - excellent under circumstances Jordon - sound four quarters Langdon - was obviously restricted Jackson - overrated and underperforming Neal-Bullen - had little influence Bowey - reality has hit Harmes - a nothing game M Brown - not the panacea Spargo - had little involvement Fritsch - took most chances Lever - nothing without May Tomlinson - was surprisingly poor Sparrow - career worst performance Petty - others should follow Pickett - another poor effort B Brown - can’t be retained Hunt - Hibberd must replace

Unless Trac and Oliver pull their fingers out we’re stuffed

The Importance of keeping humble as supporters
joeboy replied to Katrina Dee Fan's topic in Melbourne Demons
I was almost murdered by Collingwood supporters after I dared to shout out ‘Tarquin, get a real name’ , in response to one of their players by that name getting the ball😳, but I hate Carlton supporters… just because they’re Carlton supporters -
Gawn - involved too late Viney - disappeared second half Petracca - career worst game Oliver - amazing first half Brayshaw - tried but unsuccessful Bowey - record has ended Jordon - kept at it Pickett - only dangerous forward Jackson - another poor game Spargo - had little involvement Lever - overwhelmed and irrelevant Neal-Bullen- some minor touches Sparrow - had no influence Bedford - 5 minute game Dunstan - instilled no confidence Fritsch - 5 minute game Rivers - loose and wayward Hunt - was embarrassingly amateurish Weidemann - never looked likely Brown - was thoroughly destroyed Petty - tried but limited Melksham - goodbye and farewell May - still our best
-
Weid’s 4th last opportunity to seal his position
-
Gawn - dominated when required Oliver - top Brownlow votes Petracca - good not great Brayshaw - a liability early Sparrow - assumed Viney’s role Fritsch - quiet but classy Jackson - successfully performed role McDonald - our best forward Lever - back to impenetrable Dunstan - excellent first half May - showed who’s boss Jordon - a reliable connector Neal-Bullen - was rarely sighted Pickett - did just enough Spargo - ultimate team man Bedford - speed was impressive Bowey - uncharacteristically quiet game Rivers - tough and reliable Melksham - had little involvement Petty - very quiet game Brown - couldn’t assert himself Langdon - please return quickly Hunt - was rarely required
-
We were about 20 goals up in the last quarter of the granny and the forwards were celebrating yet another match sealing goal, when ANB came running in and seemingly admonished the players that the job wasn’t done yet. Respectfully, they immediately focused back on the job at hand. Now THAT’S the mark of a leader!
-
Significantly he’s taking first options more often than not now, and seems to be happy playing in the shadows of Trac and Ollie. All credit to him for an incredibly mature response to losing the captaincy and becoming more of a team player. Hopefully the media will eventually take note.
-
And for exactly that reason it’s hard to justify matching other teams’ exorbitant offers to him
-
Gawn - surprisingly didn’t dominate Viney - gutsy and dominant Petracca - impressive not outstanding Jordon - career best performance Brayshaw - continued stellar season Oliver - important but flawed Langdon - reliable as always Neal-Bullen - grunt and selfless McDonald - our best forward Pickett - quality and dangerous Jackson - played role effectively May - regularly took charge Fritsch - took his chances Sparrow - effective bit player Spargo - just some cameos Rivers - tight and steady Bowey - just so reliable Lever - comfortably restricted opponents Harmes - often lacked poise Hunt - continued his resurgence Petty - surprisingly average performance Brown - seemingly without conviction Chandler - left his mark
