  1. So if you can speak well you are a leader. Please excuse my annual rip into the 'Leadership Group' Stuff. It remains the greatest overrated heap of shite inside football clubs. So so boring (and pointless)to hear it spoken of, alluded to, referred to etc etc etc. Vince. Leader. BANG! Suspended. Lewis. Leader. BANG! Suspended. I couldn't give a [censored] if the players were mute. As long as they can play.
  2. Can someone point me in the direction of JW's statement please. A friend today likened this scenario to an inexperienced teacher clashing heads with a student. With experience the teacher knows how to handle the student and would almost certainly deal with things differently. Like everyone on here I love my Dees, but Goodwin has actually failed us in this instance. Over a seeming 6/7 weeks he has decided he can't deal with Jack Watt's football talent because he, in his own pathetic, vague words 'is in a rut'. Ridiculous. Watts will be a star in Port Adelaide. He'll play every game. He'll kick 35+ goals. They'll make the Granny. There you go. ps yes i'm happy we got lever and Balic (whoever the hell he is)but thats what I expect. To sign players. I don't expect us to be giving away a very good one.
  3. Jack Watts sent packing! for Pick 31. F me! At the start of the year I said to a mate that the worst thing that can happen this year is that Collingwood will knock us out of the eight in the final round and both Howe and Dunn will be playing. The next worse thing I said would be that Watts (because Goodwin and he wont work)would be dealt at seasons end. So all in all, the end of my footy season has been gut wrenching. This will [censored] me for many years. In the same way it would [censored] me if I lost a good watch. Or accidently run over my trusty, loyal, resilient dog. The only medicine that will heal will be a premiership before Port Power. So get cracking all you coaching staff and FD gurus who don't see Jack Watts as an important asset to a footy team, make me believe. Come on Melbourne!
  4. Is it all meant to happen today is it? is that what the press is saying??
  5. Hope this is not the case as that would be the second time we have been bent over by an overachieving multiple premiership country coach (didn't he and that [censored] idiot neeld both coach Grovedale, Greensborough, Geeelong west, Geelong East, Gariwerd, Gnanjup, Goulbourn Valley or Gonadsville or something like that, starting with a G?)
  6. Stupid post the above. I couldn't care if he was no 1 or number 100. He is amongst our best 10 players. Bottom line. And we are giving him away. None of this is complicated.
  7. Great question. The 'in a rut' comment was mindboggling. Have I said I cannot believe we are doing this?
  8. He's probably tired and a bit weary... having spent the last week or so, completely cocking things up!
  9. Of course he was Top 6 after 12 games. He helped carry us. Because he is a very good footballer. So 30 odd games in a row he is in our top half dozen. Gets hurt and struggles to regain his form, yet still manages to be amongst our best on our most important game in recent years whilst having the pressure of having to come back thru the ressies. Its unbelievable. We miss out on the 8 by 0.5% and the thanks we give this servant is 'do you mind leaving now Jack?' Coaching staff and decision makers have [censored] this up. Polls 21st in the b/f. All interested parties rub their hands at this. He gets cheaper and cheaper. S C A P E G O A T .
  10. After 9 years service, he at least deserves the opportunity to speak. Again, to reiterate many of my earlier points regarding this matter. Fu#$ you Goodwin. And you will sound like a di^&head if he decides to stay. You go on and be excited about tackling with intent and chasing with intensity. How I miss Jordie McKenzie, Daniel Nicholson, Terlich and Tapscott. All very good chasers and tacklers those boys.
  11. Still cant quite believe we are trading Watts. FMD. Astounding! He has nominated Port Adelaide. The MFC have treated this bloke so poorly as advised by Goodwin. It is a mistake. I don't want to hear any retorts about his preparation and his party boy status. Everyone can blow all that out their ar$e for all I care. The fact of the matter is he is an outstandingly talented player, loyal and deserves to be a part of our success. 70% of fans on this site agree. Watts agrees. But not Goody the, Hall of Famer from Adelaide. Load up your shot gun and blow both fuc$%ing feet off. Well as annoyed and upset at this as I am, I won't ever quit them. But disillusionment is strong. We have only Hogan for this year, if that. He will return to WA in 2019. That is a certainty. But as a passionate fan I have to say this one more time. "[censored] you Goodwin you [censored] South Australian for the way you have orchestrated Jack Watts departure from this club." It was very clear this has been his intention from Day 1 when he took the reins. So predictable. Having said all that good riddance Jack Watts. Watch Ken Hinkley get the best out of him. Hinkley doesn't coach from a manual like our boy. He coaches people, all the different types of them. I'm not yet sure Goodwin could coach a finger up his ar$e at the minute.
  12. what a slap in the face to the great cornflake.
  13. Its not the industry. Its a personality clash between the coach and player. If it were the industry he wouldn't be courted by other clubs. FFS his talent is insane. Other clubs know it. We don't want it.
  14. Jackaub, think for a second about the talent around Watts during those first eighty games.
  15. Totally agree with this. F me, but he was helping to carry us in the first half of the year. His set shot accuracy is outstanding, his delivery also. Its a goodwin thing. Its been on the cards since preseason. He is a typical young coach who thinks he is going to change the game and 'stamp' his style. His frigging style is no different to any other club. He is about to give away an integral piece of our immediate future, and give a match winner to another club. As for all the commentary regarding Watts's partying. Get a grip you sad, boring pricks. Of course he is partying. Its what young people do. F me again, he didn't cheap shot anyone like vince and lewis (both in leadership group). His hamstring injury was the first injury I ever recall him missing a game. He has been surrounded by dud players and coaches since he has been at the club. The first year we load up on some talent he has one very good year (2016) and continued that until his injury this year. He has been one of our most resilient players in one of our worst ever periods. Goodwin is a bit pathetic in this. He is scapegoating Jack Watts again instead of supporting and encouraging. He has allowed himself to be swept up in the Jack Watts circus. [censored] Adelaide knobhead.
  16. Yeah. Absolutely. Probably go undefeated. Seriously.
  17. It is a result that was as odious as it was inevitable for Melbourne fans, who would have seen out the season with a look of shock, but not disbelief. It was just another catastrophe visited upon a group of supporters to confirm their belief in the way things are, have been and always will be, and there’s absolutely nothing they can do about it. Just read the above in a Guardian article. I would love Jones or Viney to read this to the team before each game.
  18. Since I saw the result (couldn't watch) of the Adelaide West Coast game I have not read, watched, listened to, anything to do with AFL footy, let alone getting on here or the Dees website. And I am not reading any of the previous 600 odd posts on this thread. I just have to remind myself that we were so bad, so so ordinary that all I ever wanted was a team that gave themselves a chance each year. Based on that I am satisfied and can come to terms with the end of our season. Truth is we weren't good enough. Or smart enough. I am also satisfied with that and comfortable in the knowledge that the coaching staff understand this. Still though, an absolute ball breaking way to bow out. BALL BREAKER!!!!!!
  19. [censored] pumped. so happy. get there all you fans that can and bring us home. bring us the [censored] home!!!
  20. I am grateful for Hells Bells being played as the players run out, but then left shattered by the quick shut off and replacement of the Grand Old Flag. I know its our club song but its also ACDC. Its appropriate for our team. Turn it up louder, don't cut it off. Pump it up!!!! Its the right thing to do.
  21. wow! some people on here are questioning lewis's value to the team. On the verge of finals for first time in years. Jordan Lewis at the club. I'm very happy. In fact I am as ecstatic about having him now as I was when we signed him.
