I think you might be mistaken there. Oliver was going to Essendon with pick 4 or 5 hence why we moved up the draft order. 10 or 12 clubs requested that Oliver attend the Draft Camp as he was not an automatic selection as he didn’t play for Vic country. Im just glad we made the right decision with Oliver over Parish

Isn’t it amazing that he was nearly lost to AFL as he wasn’t fit enough. I think he couldn’t train due to the drive??? Lost four kilos a couple of weeks before draft camp as he didn’t think he was attending. Watching him makes me wonder what other ‘talent’ hasn’t made it due to their location etc

I love how Neil skips over the fact we didn’t get a priority pick and links us giving up an AA fullback as the same thing. We did receive pick three but too much has been made of the pick that is received by the media. The AFL (correctly IMO) linked the pick to the clubs current draft position. This was to over compensate a club at the bottom, if the top echelon clubs continued to pick off their free agents.

Isn’t it nice that these high draft picks aren’t expected to come in and carry the side!! They now now have the ability to focus on their game not being the star player for the MFC.

Exactly, there is a game starting 1hr later, which is only 2km down the road. So it’s not a logistical issue. Surely you would just just swap an umpire to remove any doubts. They dont work in teams? Ie the same three umpires work together regularly?

It’s easier than you think At a guess, it will come down to police not swapping rubber gloves. The procedure would be when an item is located you change gloves to ensure they are sterile so whenever the item is picked up they can’t be an acquisition of transfer of DNA. The raid would of been video tape and when they were searching they wouldn’t have realised they were picking up a kg of MDMA (it could of been in normal packaging). When they realised what what they had it would of been too late because it was video. Realising the money that will be thrown at Thompson defence it wasn’t worth using that evidence. The cladestine unit also deals with drug labs(the only unit that is allowed to make them safe) and are required to make the lab ‘is safe’ before a complete search is completed. In the process of making the lab safe the above could of occurred.

Someone would have to admit something. Can’t remember the bomber player (maybe Kyle remier??) who admitted they were putting experimental stuff in their body right at the start but the PR from Essendon was savage. I actually think this is a big issue. Given Goodwin belief in his ‘brand/game plan’ I wonder if he has changed the structures to suit a ground like eithad (he came from Essendon which plays predominantly at Eithad) rather than MCG. Given the finals are played at the MCG this can be an issue.

Agreed. we have trained for the contested brand/ pressure footy and the AFL have changed the ‘interpretation’. We look like we are still playing ‘our way’ inside of adapting.

Speaking to a Richmond supporter about hardwicks change from 2016 and 2017. He stated that Hardwick was told he micromanaged the game too much. He changed his style in 2017 and told the players they made this grade because they were elite players. Go out and trust your instinicts, he also allowed the line coach’s to worry about the small things rather than him. It was obvious last week that we are playing to instructions not instincts.

It’s obvious that they don’t believe in the coach and the game plan.
