  1. Another irrelevant post. The question was asked who had been booed as much and I gave an answer. I can't be bothered analysing the reasons why and the question didn't require the reasons why; just who...
  2. What a bizarre post. The question was asked if there'd ever been a player booed as much as Goodes and I gave an answer.
  3. Many Richmond supporters think it was the best match they've played this year.
  4. Oliver won't come back via Casey, he makes us better. We missed him against Richmond. Did I read someone say that Petracca hasn't done enough to warrant selection ? Averaging over 30 possessions and a goal per game (3) isn't enough ? Especially when you look a class above the level ? I don't care that we've won two in a row. This side can be better and needs to be better. If Petracca is deemed to have enough kilometres in his legs then he needs to come in. Brayshaw is noticeably labouring and needs to string a couple of good games at Casey and Frost can't mark. I know he does some good things and yes, his speed pressure is great, but that's not enough to keep you in the side. Petracca plays taller than Frost, because he's an exceptional mark and leap. Out: Brayshaw, Frost In: Oliver, Petracca
  5. I like Hunt not so much for what he's already done, although some of it has been great, but because you can see what he'll become. His upside is enormous.
  6. He may end up the better player, but I wouldn't be assessing Brayshaw on what you've seen in 2016. He's a far better player than what we're presently witnessing.
  7. You can't remember Steven Milne constantly being booed ? He had it as bad for a lot longer. I don't like Goodes because he's a divisive character. Booing isn't my thing though.
  8. I like Wagner, but absolutely love Jayden Hunt.
  9. Frost definitely out Petracca definitely in
  10. Dustin Martin does not cut us up. His second worst record is against Melbourne. He had one good game in 2014. Dustin Martin against opposition teams. 11. I'm not sure why he likes playing us. Out of all his opponents there is only one he has a worst record against. Another poster mentioned "consistency" and this is the key. I believe we'll win comfortably if we bring the right effort as a collective. The Tigers' game-plan is rubbish in 2016 (too slow), they have an inferior ruckman, they have poor inside mids, they don't have a quality small back and at a time when small forwards are wreaking havoc they're deficient in that area too. Gawn is pivotal and so are Viney, Tyson and Jones, who should get well on top early. If Garlett, Kennedy and Kent are 'on' I predict this game could get ugly for Richmond. I seriously don't rate them. Like all games, the midfield is the key.
  12. I've seen enough footy to know if pace is an issue, mate. You're making stuff seem far more complicated than they are. Then again, it may suit your cognitive bias. And you may take the stats with a grain of salt, but the Melbourne coaches and selection committee don't.
  13. I wasn't there last night, but saw Trengove for 3 quarters 4 weeks ago and there was nothing wrong with his pace whatsoever. So unless something has happened in that time I'm guessing Adam is letting preconceived ideas cloud his thinking. Players don't use first gear every time they move, but when he had to on one occasion I knew his pace would no longer inhibit him at AFL level. He got to the right spots, which is why he had 18 possessions to half-time that week and his kicking was a feature. Can't wait for him to be back out on the G.
  14. We're not "under AFL management".
  15. I didn't want Petracca selected this week, because I didn't think his fitness would be quite up to speed, but I'm aware of the talent that awaits and won't curb my enthusiasm.
  16. It's a nonsensical argument. We're talking about a guy that was universally regarded as the best player in his draft year. A guy that without playing a game has been lauded as the best talent his next senior coach has seen train (according to Wayne Carey). Plenty of excited supporters watched this freak talent play for Victoria in juniors, have seen him train and watched him play for Casey. Yet you want them to keep their raptures in check until you see it for yourself at AFL level ? How about you let them please themselves while you please yourself ? Some supporters have a pretty good handle of predicting what a player should become while others don't want a bar of it until they see it for themselves. They want the proof first and not the talk. I guess we fall into two distinct categories. I've seen enough, read enough and experienced enough over many years to know where excitement levels should be over this yet to debut youngster. And I don't really want to be told how excited I should or shouldn't be.
  17. You have many likes, but I must say that I can't say I see the profundity others do. He is not "just another draftee that shows promise".
  18. Thanks for the stats, although I disagree with your conclusion. Richmond have rubbish inside mids (who do they have outside of Cotchin), no quality small backs and a crapp game-plan, which relies on possession and (invariably) slow ball use until they're ready to pull the trigger. They're not kicking well, which is a must with their game-plan and slow ball use has been smashed against sides that press hard and have a strong team defence. They're killed on the turnover. They could only manage 27 I50's last week against West Coast and average 44 for the season (we're 54). If we bring the right effort and intensity I see this as a definite win due to being better around the stoppages and with a better game-plan.
  19. "if we play our best we believe we can beat anybody" He does say some silly things. Eight players were "tired" by round 2.
  20. It did cross my mind that it was a Roos ruse, which serves multiple purposes, i.e. it's gentle on Oliver, they only want him out for a week, it was a very difficult selection week, it gives his body a freshen up. There are lots of reasons to omit him under the guise of a "rest".
  21. It started at 9.45am, which consists of warm ups. It's now 10.10am. Hope that helps.
  22. I didn't like the idea and Roos himself admitted he's not sure if he needs one just that they're conservative with young players and learnt from Brayshaw last year. I remain unconvinced it's necessary.
  23. Just stating facts in the light of your suggestion that he'd "made no grand statements". There couldn't have been any grander. Rather than me cutting him a break I suggest it had escaped your memory or attention.
