  1. Essendon have released a seriously odd statement on Hurley. On the face of it, it's not saying anything that people don't already know. So why do it? Trying to put a bit more pressure on him to sign? Let's hope all it does is push him further away... http://m.essendonfc.com.au/news/2016-07-06/hurley-update
  2. That would be an unmitigated disaster.
  3. Wouldn't be a travesty if he didn't, but would be brilliant if he did.
  4. Replace Vardy with Weideman and get even more excited
  5. They were his first AFL games in two years, what on earth were people expecting?!
  6. This is top 10 in the worst threads I've ever seen on here. Who gives a flying fark when he signed?
  7. Unfortunately not mate, says he has no idea. He reckons we've gone from a place nobody wants to go to one of the most desirable clubs in Victoria, which isn't exactly groundbreaking but still good to hear. He also swears black and blue that Clark is a good bloke, which I can't have.
  8. Nope. But one of my best mates plays for Geelong and I was talking with him about this exact issue over the weekend.
  9. I'm afraid this shows an enormous lack of understanding about the CBA. The "waiting for the CBA to be negotiated and announced" excuse is a complete furphy. In every player's contract there are a number of clauses. The clause that players signing a new deal this year have inserted is a simple "if the salary cap goes up by x amount, my contract will increase commensurately". This is extremely straightforward. I think and hope Hogan will stay but "he's just waiting for the CBA to be announced" is just plain wrong, a complete red herring.
  10. Hang on a minute. You think Josh Wagner is a better player than Tom McDonald?
  11. Because you have to live in Western Sydney, play in front of 7,000 every other week and represent a soulless franchise? And to answer the OP, yes he's exactly the type of player we lack and need.
  12. I'd suggest before making a comment like that, you; A) make sure you know what you're talking about, or B) do some research.
  13. And can't even get a game for just about the leakiest defence in the league. What does that tell you?
  14. I question anyone's football nous if they don't see that if Salem gets his body right he'll be a star. He's played 29 games for gods sake, and in most of those has been asked to play a position he's never played before due to his sublime foot skills. He's the least of our worries.
  15. Has given us far more, both with and without the ball, than Pedo or Frost in that same role this year.
  16. He turns 32 this year, nearly retired at the end of last year and is likely to do so at the end of this. Got one more year at the absolute most.
  17. Probably not fair to lump them all in the same basket mate! Would be like a sandgroper saying they don't trust Victorian journos because of Barrett. As I said above, Gossage has been consistent in his view that Hogan will stay. According to my good mate in Perth, he is a far more respected journo than the likes of Scott Cummings, Langdon and Hardie who are borderline comedy figures. In the SEN interview he was absolutely unequivocal that Hogan will stay.
  18. Gossage has consistently said he thinks Hogan will stay. Langdon and Hardie have consistently said the opposite.
  19. Why do people take figures quoted in the media as gospel?
  20. Matt Jones finished 4th in the BnF the season before Roos arrived. And there's no way he's a "first pick defender".
  21. Strange post. He's a limited player but surely one thing nobody could question about Grimes is his desire to compete.
