Brayshaw - cemented senior spot Cross - age catching up Dunn - tried but beaten Garland - some good efforts Garlett - lone ranger forward Grimes- looked past it Hogan - ok but held Howe - just another game Jamar - tried but beaten Jones - too many clangers Kennedy - Harris - out muscled constantly Lumumba - couldn't break free Pedersen - worked very hard McDonald - 2015 b&f winner McKenzie - a vfl footballer Michie - another vfl footballer Newton- a reality check Salem - was sorely missed Tyson - poor form blues vandenBerg - tried but beaten Vince - just did enough Watts - worst 100th ever?
-
Salem might miss, and Dawes will need to pass a fitness test on that calf. Riley and Jetta in for me. McKenzie out with one of the other handful of players who were not up to it today.

WORST NEWS EVER!!!!!! 12 weeks is insane.

Alex Neale Bullen and Stretch have a bit of speed and endurance. ANB was second fastest in last year's draft over 3km at the combine. For beep test, ANB was 7th, Stretch 9th and Petracca 12th at the combine. No players hit top 10 in 20m sprint, however other results suggest we drafted guys with some speed.

Carlton needs a full rebuild. If they are smart they might do a cooney type deal and sell him at current market value just to move the salary on. He was a fair player, but his body has robbed him and he is now just an ok player at this level. Richmond would be a prime destination for Murphy. Could also see GWS or GCS adding his experience if the price is right.

Would rather have a target down forward with an unusual kicking style than have no target down their with a nice kicking style. That is all.
-
Big out for them if he doesn't pull up. That said, Viney being out balances the scales. Tigers will be ready to go, dees need to be up for this one.
-
They still have some cap concessions. They would only lose these guys if someone offered overs in terms of salary or length of contact. Let's not forget that the names on the list of players to leave gws went to other clubs for reasons other than money (in playing time, closer to home). Also, Scully, Davis and other big fish to sign on had heavily front ended contracts, meaning they might still have some cap room to play with. Shiel would be great, but we can't offer $$$ like Carlton could.
-
We have Gawn, Spencer, Fitzpatrick and Pedo and none of them fill me with confidence. Our tall timber stocks might need reviewing if one or two of these names can't claim and hold onto a spot with frosty out. Jamar has 1 year left at best. Russian looks gassed. Who has what it takes to be a top ruck?

Watts is no superstar, but I would not be dealing him for the sake of dealing him. Kruez is broken, and may never reach his potential. We need to keep looking out for savvy additions and building through the draft.

Howe- Out of form Garlett- Go to specsavers

The ABL was resurrected when the MLB took over ownership and poured cash into. MLB Players are sent to Australia to work on their game during the offseason which lifts the quality of play in the ABL. The NBL would need a similar lifeline with a cash and player injection. If the number 13-15 guys on the bench of an NBA roster came out of to Oz the standard of play would be a drastic improvement. Also free agents trying to get back into the NBA have a feeder league that doesn't require them to go to Europe or China. In order for this to work the league must run parallel to the NBA or D-League to remain viable. Also visibility and TV rights need reviewing. Get this on free to air and get it trending.

I think Dangers will be a cat in 2016. As for the other stuff, I would need a bag of shrooms to get on the same page and accurately decifer those prophecies. My own prophecies for us: Howe will be expensive to retain and may become a demon rival, and it is a bad year to be out of contract at the dees if you don't make 10 or more senior appearances this season.
-
I recall his name popping up on the trade table. Word on the vine was he wanted to go back west. Intriguing prospect, could elevate us another notch if he were fit and firing. Just unsure of the cost, his injury history would have me worried if we had to pay big for him.
-
Salem could be the "man" for us in 2-3 years. He has already become important.
-
Poor Viney. Another set back. Just as he starts building form he gets hurt. Story of his career thus far. Hopefully we see him back soon because he is one of our best. Brayshaw still hasn't built a tank for a full game of footy. Start him and see how he goes. I'm not huge on toumpas but his vfl form might warrant another chance as the sub.

2015 - the year to remove all the BS records

Can't stand the Hawks. Would love to see us surprise them, although I think we are 18 months away from beating that mob. They can't keep rolling forever! -
Which player positively suprised you against GC
Adzman replied to Henrietta Lumbago's topic in Melbourne Demons
Vanders for me. Had a great preseason and I was expecting him to drop off with the pace of regular season competition. Instead he held his own and did his job well. We have found a player in Vanders and his spot is going to be hard to win for those looking to crack into the side. -
His future will depend on how his body responds to a fuller training schedule once cleared. He can't afford another set back if he plans to play again. I think trenners is an incredibly hard worker and will find a way back to senior footy. I think expectations should be in check, as he can't be the player he once was and we still don't know what that looks like yet.
-
Viney's best is yet to come, and I think his best is going to be absolutely first rate in this competition. He has taken gradual steps since being drafted, and only stands to get better with each passing game.

Who is shaping as a surprise packet for Melbourne in 2015?
Adzman replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Salem for me. Will benefit from another premiership season and will have added some conditioning in preparation for more senior footy. -
What a sad story. He was as gifted as they come.
-
Sad for Dom but like all players moving on we move forward and build towards the future.

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - BEN NEWTON
Adzman replied to Moneider96's topic in Melbourne Demons
Would like Newton at Melbourne. Has plenty to offer. -
Dean Kent for me. Showed something this year and could go from being a fringe guy to being very important for us.
