I never said it was worse for men than women Stuie, you seem to have a problem with putting words into peoples mouths. Do I think that men have it worse than women? Obviously not, but is your quoted 1 in 20 men being assaulted at home not a problem? After seeing the effects of woman on man violence in my personal life I find it quite disgusting there is nothing out there to help men.

National Intimate Partner and Sexual Violence Survey (2010) - Relevant Table Partner Abuse (2010) - Ten Examples of ~200 Studies Showing Gender Symmetry in Assault Homicides, Firearm Offences and Intimate Violence 2010/11 "Intimate Violence According to the 2010/11 BCS, seven per cent of women and five per cent of men experienced domestic abuse in the last year, equivalent to an estimated 1.2 million female and 800,000 male victims. In 2010/11, estimated levels of domestic abuse experienced in the last year were at the lowest levels since 2004/05 when the self-completion module was first included in the BCS. There has been no statistically significant change in the level of domestic abuse since 2008/09 Around six per cent of women and four per cent of men experienced partner abuse in the last year, equivalent to around 900,000 female and 600,000 male victims. Non-physical abuse (i.e. emotional and financial abuse) was the most common type of abuse experienced by both female (57%) and male (46%) partner abuse victims. Female victims of partner abuse were more likely than males to suffer from nonphysical abuse, threats and sexual assault, but apparent differences between the sexes for abuse involving force and stalking were not statistically significant. Around a quarter (27%) of partner abuse victims suffered a physical injury as a result of the abuse. Among those who had experienced any physical injury or other effects (such as emotional problems), around a quarter (28%) received some sort of medical attention" Is the government doing anything to help male victims of domestic abuse? "New funding was announced in March 2015 for the National Awareness Campaign to Reduce Violence Against Women and their Children. This new campaign is to receive total funding of $30.0 million over three years." That's fine, surely they have some kind of help on their government website for men. Oh dear Source: http://dcp.wa.gov.au/CrisisAndEmergency/Pages/Men%27s-Domestic-Violence-Helpline.aspx

Nah sure didn't, half working and half doing this. I'll pull up some more articles when I get home. Other first world countries have very in depth research about this. Unless you're going to say that those arn't relevant.

Jurrah was a star.

Yeah I stole your thread idea Return To Glory (sorry) but as it is the off season it seems like it could be a bit of fun. What were your opinions or feelings regarding a player that were completely wrong? The one that comes to mind for me is that Addam Maric just didn't get enough of a chance.
-
I've completely missed your point
-
My points were on point(?) still in the opening post.

I am a nerd and a drunk, I was absolutely blasted when I posted this

I've been here for a long time I'm just asking for everyone to think to themselves "Is this adding to the thread". Cheers all.

I've been reading this site for about 6 years now and it has been going on for a lot longer than that but for the last year it seems to be getting a lot worse!
-
I've noticed in the last year or so that there has been a lot of stupid bickering and name calling derailing threads. I'm just asking can you please stop this rubbish? If you don't like or agree with someones opinion so much that you feel like you have to respond with insults why don't you just put them on ignore. It is becoming a chore to read through some of these threads listening to you guys throw stupid insults at each other. Dazzle, Moon, Stuie (I know there's a lot more but that's all I can think of right now) I'm talking to you guys. I enjoy reading your posts on football but for a long time it has just been you guys calling out other posters and such. I know a lot of posters are dumb and I'm probably one of them but for someone that comes here to read about Melbourne news it sucks to have to wade through pages of posts of you guys just arguing together.

I hope he proves me wrong but I don't rate him very highly so far. For someone his height he isn't quick, can't take a mark, kicking isn't great but his agility seems ok. Reminds me of Jetta a bit.

I read write ups on the draftees and watch highlights but it really doesn't do much for me. I just have to trust our recruiters to make a good decision because I'm sure they have been watching the kids for a few years now. Unless you have seen them play over a few years how could you know.

Hannibal can be a huge jerk sometimes to keep it PG but his football knowledge is legit. -
Man... someone is upset that they called you out
-
I've never seen Weideman play but man the 3 or so things I've read about him weren't very positive. Pretty much said he was a fantastic mark but isn't a very good kick for goal, not athletic and hasn't got a good tank.
-
This might be hyperbole but he seems to be the best player in the afl to get the ball out, he is just a bull.
-
It's a shame he didn't do the lap of honour, I feel like there wouldn't be anyone booing him but maybe I'm naive. I remember a fair few years ago when we smashed sydney he dominated the game completely and looked several classes above. Just a super player who could play every position.. ruck midfielder forward and im sure he could play back as well. A champion of the game and I hope he is remembered as such. He looked like superman compared to everyone else out there, seemed faster bigger and stronger than anyone one in the game. It was so obvious when I saw that it was kind of crazy
-
He did very well when he played as our number 1 ruckman.... Ahh well

Great to have this bloke (McCartney) at the club
