  1. I'd personally add a tick to Hannan. Pick 46 50 games (so far) Averages over a goal a game.
  2. If there is one thing we've done well over my time following the MFC, it's developing ruckmen. Jim Stynes (Brownlow, 2 x All Australians, 4 x BnF) Jeff White (1 x All Australian, 1 x BnF) Mark Jamar (1x All Australian) Max Gawn (4 x All Australian, 2 x BnF) Not to mention Darren Jolly, Troy Simmonds and Stef Martin. That's 30 years of consistently elite performances - I'd say that'd be better than any team in the league.
  3. Seems getting out of Victoria is his number 1 criterion. Makes sense; highly recognisable young man, playing for a polarising team.
  4. Great news! Has finally got his body right and is entering his peak age as a footballer.
  5. Passing comment on Footy Classified about a player 'looking unhappy' at the BnF leads to 14 pages in a week.
  6. My understanding was that it wasn’t whether or not he could play, but what he was demanding in regards to contract length and size. The MFC’s view wasn’t that he was bad, just that he wasn’t that good. I liked him, but haven’t really missed him.
  7. Would consider trading in a player, but would rather not part with a developed, mature player for a late pick.
  8. Sad that it's worked out this way. Looked like it could have been a really positive story to come out of 2020 and beyond. Pretty deflating. Glad that the club took a chance on him and a credit to our medic and fitness staff that they got his body right.
  9. Posts like this say a lot more about you than him.
  10. Accuracy in reporting is not a priority. It’s all about generating discussion, outrage, re-tweets and, dare is say, threads on fan websites.
  11. At his best he is a very, very good footballer. He has weaknesses (mainly in mindset) but would fit in perfectly on the opposite wing to Langdon. If it’s a salary dump and costs next to nothing in trade, then it’s a yes from me.
  12. I’m going to file this away with the ‘Petracca requests trade to Geelong’ rumours last preseason.
  13. 1. Petracca 2. May 3. Oliver 4. Langdon 5. Gawn
  14. Congratulations to all three of them on their careers. Got to do what all of us could only dream of doing. All the best for the next phase of their lives!
  15. You should watch it, it was really interesting. Gave some interesting insights into the running of the club and some of the people behind the scenes. It was a membership promotion, not a manifesto. Very strong opinions from someone who hasn't watched a second of it.
  16. Would be curious to see the breakdown of games where Gawn did/didn’t play. He missed 3 matches and could barely move in another.
  17. That's quite remarkable; completely unrecognisable as a player. Fast, agile and aggressive in the air. There's clearly something physically holding him back and I sometimes wonder if the club is better served by telling the fans. I understand that they want privacy for the player and to not give opposition teams a heads-up, but surely there'd be less pressure and unfair criticism of his performances if we knew what was wrong with his toe / feet / ankles.
  18. Would take him in a heartbeat but also feel like Hawthorn would never let him go. He's a strong leader at the club who's still performing at a very high level.
  19. I've seen enough 'rebuilds' in my time to know we are long way off needing a rebuild. Our list has plenty of talent that is underperforming as a whole unit.
  20. I got told not to.
  21. Mind-boggling stupidity and lack of professionalism and respect. They’re at work. They've been explicitly told not to do it. They did it anyway. AFL doesn’t like it, sponsors don’t like it and members (as it was leading into the most important quarter of the year) don’t like it. Gives an insight into some players focus and mindset. If we’ve ever wondered how we don’t turn up to play in big matches or drop the easy ones...
  22. I think they're about one Round off with most of their predictions. (Except the Hogan one - that's completely off the mark)
  23. Harmes has value and any team lacking midfield grunt would happily snap him up. With that said, I wouldn’t trade him for Saad.
  24. It'd be a no from me, unless he came cheap; which he won't. He's either going completely off the rails or he is one of the dumber people playing AFL football... his ofield decision making is seriously awry.
  25. It's impossible to say what pick 22 will end up as, but I would have thought an early second round pick is close to spot-on for Saad. Would happily part with 22, but think throwing in TMac is overs unless something else comes our way. Would be reminiscent of the Melksham/Hibberd trades.
