Agreed. Looking at the season as a whole, and even my perception coming into it, I always thought it would be strange to see an MFC team take the field without him. I'm shocked by how smooth the transition was. Sparrow and Jordon were kicking down the door in the end.- DeeWatch Podcast (The Melbourne Demons rewatch)

Absolute tragedy. Heartbreaking.- DeeWatch Podcast (The Melbourne Demons rewatch)

- Who I'd like to see us target
Unbelievably talented but, sadly, undeniably lazy on the field. Hope he can turn it around, but he has so far wasted his opportunities.- DeeWatch Podcast (The Melbourne Demons rewatch)
- Jake Bowey Extends Until 2024
It took Jack Viney 39 matches over three seasons to notch up 7 wins. Timing is everything!- DeeWatch Podcast (The Melbourne Demons rewatch)
Fair call - thanks for giving it a go.- DeeWatch Podcast (The Melbourne Demons rewatch)
Episode 2: Melbourne V StKilda is now available. Listen on Spotify, Apple Podcasts or www.buzzsprout.com/1895332- When do players peak?
Itโs completely subjective - many players peak at 19, others arenโt even considered by recruiters until theyโre 22. Its seemed over the years, the general consensus is 26 - 29 is the sweet spot for age, strength, durability and experience. Looking at recent Brownlow winners, though an imperfect metric, gives us some ideaโฆ Dangerfield 26yo Martin 26yo Mitchell 25yo Fyfe 27yo Neale 27yo Wines 26yo- DeeWatch Podcast (The Melbourne Demons rewatch)
Hello everyone! I hope itโs alright by the mods that I use a thread to promote my new Melbourne Football Club Podcast. In the spirit of the many โTV re-watch podcastsโ, my friends and I have started re-watching all the 2021 Melbourne matches and reviewing them in the context of the season as a whole. Weโve just released Episode 1: Melbourne v Fremantle at the MCG, where we reminisce about the lead-up to 2021, the match itself, review the votes and debate our favorite Demons to wear the Number 1 guernsey. Listeners are welcome to watch the whole match, highlights or simply rely on their memory of each of our games this year. Hopefully a little bit informativeโฆ Hopefully a little bit funnyโฆ Please follow us on Instagram @ deewatch_podcast Thanks!- COVID & AFL 2021
And the Northern Territory - when theyโre released from WA, they need to go there to face the music all over again.- Hawks on the Slide: How Mitchell is making life hard for himself
Mitchell is attempting to do what Clarkson did when he took over; trading senior players for high picks. Problem is that, unlike last time, the market values early picks a lot higher than it did 04 and 05. There's either a lot of Clarkson or a lot of Neeld about what he's doing...- Robboโs Top 50 2021
Itโs a cult; youโll never convince any of them.- Bobby Hill
I think heโs got massive upside and would gladly bring him in. Heโs a quick, agile, mercurial forward and doesnโt compare to Chandler. If anything, Chandler is being kept out of the team by ANB and Spargo. Hill is more akin to Pickett, and two such players in the team allows them to hunt further up the ground and rotate through the midfield. By the time it comes up, our first pick would be around 20, which wouldnโt be too far off the mark for him.- Welcome to Demonland: Luke Dunstan
We had a blessed run with injuries this year, yet AVB and Jones still got games- Iโd rate Dunstan as at least their equal. Even as a โdepthโ player heโd make our list better. No brainer.- Welcome to Demonland: Luke Dunstan
I'm shocked that the Saints would be moving him on; seems to blitz it for them every time I tune in. I have heard their supporters being highly critical of his disposal, but would seem to be a decent fit for a developing team like the Kangaroos or GCS. If he was interested coming to us, I don't see him in the best 22, but he would be a decent upgrade on our 2021 midfield depth (AVB and Jones). This'll be important if our current blessed run with injuries doesn't last forever...- Carlton to get on the 'selfless' bandwagon
We're going to get A LOT more free kicks!- Mac Andrew
Even if we had access to him within the top 20, he'd wipe out an entire draft's worth of picks just to get up the points to select him in the top 10. Hopefully a big slider on draft night.- Mitch Brown Signs on for 2022
I find this one to be strange. The club clearly has a better idea of whatโs going on than I do, but I would have thought both AVB and Lockhart were both closer to senior selection than Brown. Lockhart especially as small defenders is not an area of great depth for us. He must be an excellent trainer and presence around the club, but I would have hoped weโd be looking to bring in a young KPF at the draft and have B Brown, McDonald and Weideman, along with Fritsch and Jackson as our primary KPF stocks. Good luck to him!- Gosch's Paddock.
With that said... the players, particularly Lever and the defensive team, gave glowing endorsements of training at Casey Fields due to Covid restrictions. Training on a full (MCG) size oval gave them the chance to better rehearse their defensive set-ups which strangled most teams this year. - DeeWatch Podcast (The Melbourne Demons rewatch)
