Tom McDonald (and Oscar) SIGNS.
DistrACTION Jackson replied to dazzledavey36's topic in Melbourne Demons
How do you know what we offered Hooker? It's all media here say and from what they said he was offered the most from Freo. -
Tom McDonald (and Oscar) SIGNS.
DistrACTION Jackson replied to dazzledavey36's topic in Melbourne Demons
I noticed Daniel Merrett from Brissy is an unrestricted free agent. Could be a good option as the number one stopper to release McDonald and Frost to being 2nd and 3rd talls for the next 1-2 seasons? -
The Jesse Hogan Panic Room - all contract talk here
DistrACTION Jackson replied to Grapeviney's topic in Melbourne Demons
Haha that would be sweet! Coming from WA I hear a lot of Freo supporters sure he is coming to them. It would just be great if he signed a contract extension that week and then came out and kicked a bag of 6 or 7. -
Extremely pumped if he plays but unfortunately I won't be here so that would be disappointing!

POST MATCH DISCUSSION - Round 8
DistrACTION Jackson replied to Gorgoroth's topic in Melbourne Demons
Someone needs to show the umpires this footage as he has mastered it and frankly he should get a free against for staging. In every video he keeps his arm low and then raises it quickly and then flings his head back. Umps fall for it everytime! Someone should've just clothes lined him on Sunday and maybe he won't do it again! -
The annoying thing about our selectors at the moment is they think we can play this small back line every week. It worked against the Suns because after half time the ball hardly went down there. We knew the Dogs were are far superior side to the Suns and yet we play the same back line who struggled with the pressure. I don't know what Dunn has done to get off side but is a far superior defender than Garland. We also have been playing Frost as a forward when it was fairly obvious he is just not going to do well in that position. My team for this week would be as follows (this is if no one gets suspended which is unlikely for Bernie). B: Jetta Dunn Lumumba HB: Salem TMac Wagner C: Vince Tyson Stretch HF: Petracca Pedersen Kennedy F: Garlett Hogan Watts R: Gawn Jones Viney Int: Oliver ANB Bugg Harmes Outs: Michie (I like him but we can't play Salem, Wagner, Hunt and Michie in the same team as they all play similar roles and is behind those three IMO) Garland (doesn't defend well enough and has no weapons) Hunt (loved his first few games but needs a rest and Lumumba can come back in if fit) Ins: Lumumba to give Hunt a week off Dunn to come in for Garland ANB because he is just banging the door down

We need two big key defenders
DistrACTION Jackson replied to Demonsterative's topic in Melbourne Demons
I agree. Most teams play 2 or 3 tall forwards and we are playing McDonald, who is better as a 2nd tall defender and garland who I don't rate at all and should be depth. We really need to play 3 tall defenders along with Jetta, Wagner, Salem and hunt rotating through. -
Garland should not play again unless we are undermanned in the backline. We just offers nothing. No run, not that good defensively, not a good kick... Nothing! Bring back Dunn and play omac. We need 3 tall down back

The Incredible Hulk - Jesse Hogan

I was just about to post this….. wonder if it will fast track a deal? -
MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 8
DistrACTION Jackson replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
My final team would be the following: B: Jetta McDonald Bugg HB: Wagner Garland Hunt C: Vince Tyson Oliver HF: Watts Pedersen Garlett F: Harmes Hogan Kennedy R: Gawn Jones Viney Int: Salem ANB Petracca OMac (because the Dogs forward line is fairly tall) -

That is hyperbole at its finest. Supporters care about wins, if we keep winning they will keep coming. -

Very different situation with their salary concessions at the time..... thankfully they are being wound back! -

I think Hogan will need to decide if he wants to win premierships or earn an extra 100-200k a year. He will definitely be well paid with us but any side that wants to win flags can't pay one player an exorbitant amount in comparison to the rest of the side. -
I remember saying last season I didn't think he was good enough...... how wrong I was! Really loving his play this season and what a great rookie pick up!
-
I remember reading about the coaches having some pretty harsh words with him about what is expected. He seems to have turned the corner since then.

This weeks game is pretty massive if we want to have any shot at playing in the finals. I ran through the predictor and the Dogs are likely to be battling it out with Adelaide and us for the 7th and 8th spots (that's if we win the games we are supposed to). If we can get a win over them it would give us a sneaky chance.

Just watched the replay. If he gets done for that I would be very surprised. Eye on the ball, doesn't leave the ground, low level contact, plus the other player is also pushing him towards the contest.
-
Highly concerned about TMac and Garland being our only two tall defenders..... Last time we did that Daniher destroyed us.

Nothing to worry about, Misson mentioned he just had to spend 4-6 hours away from training.... -

I would say the back up plan would be 'Freo you give us Lachie Neale and your first pick in 2016 (looking likely to be in the top 5/6). He will stay and play in multiple flags...... -
Christian Petracca & Lucas Peters
DistrACTION Jackson replied to Deestar9's topic in Melbourne Demons
What an incredible person. So proud to have him at the football club and I really wish him all the success, he deserves it thoroughly! Can't wait to watch him run out tomorrow! -
He definitely can over step the line at times, however, there has always been players like this and they are often necessary to be a premiership side. Love what he does and may it continue. On the Reiwoldt action, he hardly pushed him hard, or tried to injure him more like the Lions did to the other Reiwoldt so I don't think you can compare the two.
