To me he looks mentally drained rather than physically. When did Vince get run down from behind last year? happened a lot this year. his concentration and focus have been poor He clearly has had issues with consistency at the crows (good year/poor year) so I think he should get an extended break from the club. does he need a 5 month preseason? a few extra weeks to freshen up and get the anger back and hunger score goals and get us to finals

Viney Gawn Jones T Mac Tyson next in line, Jetta, Watts although Viney slowed up at the end of the year, he still easily leads contested possessions and tackles and just leads the clearances. He led beautifully all year and pips Gawny just IMO

Delighted for Beaker. Fair to say he deserves a win after 2 wins in 7 years!! how he has kept fronting up for training is beyond me. I reckon he'll get a game in finals, the other young ruck will get dropped for mcevoy

I don't think you can have too many quality midfielders. Sydney haven't struggled with their 'one paced midfield with poor kicking skills' and they are again, rightly, flag favourites especially in a few years without vince and jones

Struggling to GAF about this game. I think the excitement of not longer being a 6% chance of finals has us flat I think we will put in a decent show but the players will be flat as well and Cats are playing for top 4 with a week off. Would be great if Hullet made his debut, that would get me fired up. also good to get another game together for Oliver, Angus, Tracca, Hunt, Stretch, Hogan and Weeds alright, I guess I care about the game a little bit then

First thing to with all of our older players not getting a game is to see what they want to do. I suspect they dont enjoy not playing, so some will want to be shopped around. this could take the delisting issue out of it. If I was Grimes Garland or Dunn, I'd request a trade. The first two would get picked up. then wish them well and thank them for their service. JT will 100% get one more year. he had almost 3 years out of footy (played 2 games one year). he has come back and performed well at VFL level. I think he can do a preseason and be in our best 25 next year. he is smart, a good mark and good kicking skills. not too many of the list we can say that about. and I just love the bloke

Anyone see the Titus O'Reilly post: (something like) "North - the first club to announce a rebuild heading into Finals" sums it up for me. what morons. either tell the players with 10 rounds to go and let them announce when they want or make the hard calls after the finals. either way, treating their champ Harvey like this is ridiculous and will hurt the club for years (like the Junior decision did for us)

He is great around goals. Good thing about the new wave of midfield types coming through us that patracca, vanders, brayshaw like a goal. I reckon with hunt and Salem on wings there will be more goals tyson is underrated in general I reckon. Still learning, improving his awareness and getting his body right. completely agree. I think we will target a tall fwd/2nd ruck but good ones are hard to find so I can see Pedo playing for 2 more years to help Weeds/Hoges/Hullet. thats a young fwd line. the other think is that Pedo can ruck and those 3 can't/shouldn't. I also dont think Watts can ruck (pushed off the ball very easily yesterday) but he has to at the moment Pedo might be 29 but he is young as far as games played so hopefully his body holds up

actually if we want to treat this game as giving some experience/trying new things, it would be good to see Hullett play for Weeds. JKH has got himself right and I think deserves a kicks and play Speno (worked last time at the Cattery)

yesterday wasnt about personnel or tactics for me. it was attitude. Somehow, in typical Melbourne fashion we went in without being 100% switched on. I could tell within 3-4 minutes we would lose - just like it was clear within 3-4 minutes against the Hawks that we were up for it and would push them. they literally walked the ball forward for the first goal in 30 seconds. we werent even trying. the culture/attitude issues have improved but are still there and this should be the main focus as we will never win anything if we are soft mentally - expect the LG next year to reflect some change in this area. Goody will pick players who front up and have self belief im not even that annoyed as it didnt surprise me. in some ways id prefer it happened now so we can work on it rather than getting 12 wins and thinking we dont need to change anything for next year wouldnt surpirse me if we beat the cats next week!

Assuming the GWS and cats games are close - eg 10 pts - and go our way we will need around 30-40 point win tomorrow easy

Best thing out of that is that Sydney have a home final to play for tomorrow against north. Win their next two and they will be top 2
