List Analysis Potential v Reality
DubDee replied to Its Time for Another's topic in Melbourne Demons
thanks for starting the thread, good read I do disagree with the above though - Tyson is a classic 'reached his potential' for me. Foot skills are not something that generally get a lot better after 24yo. And Oliver has a lot of unfulfilled potential imo. he racks up possessions, but with experience he will soon dominate matches. take more marks, score goals, become a leader, develop better tank etc -
thanks for the reasoned response we support the club, one of our favourite players gets put up for trade, you voice your opinion and show support for that player, whats wrong with that? the majority of MFC fans are strong and unwavering in their support (you'd have to be to still be around). I think if supporters want to discuss the fixture and point out the negatives that is reasonable.
-
Ahhh the veil of negativity! the whinging supporters are stopping the players from winning again you're hilarious Chazz

I'm getting de ja Vue, Buckley has no excuses now?? What excuses has he had the last 3 years?
-
I'm usually not into conspiracy theories but it's hard not to think that the afl wants Collingwood and Essendon to make finals or keep their seasons alive for longer as it results in so much money.

Any Chance Jake Spencer back to MFC as Rookie?
DubDee replied to Umpire Please's topic in Melbourne Demons
we need to pick up a mature age ruck in the draft. I dont want T Mac to have to ruck if gawn goes down. he is key up fwd now and we are getting light on talls -
Great news! Smashed Avos all round!!!
-
You said There is no reason we shouldn't win those games against lower opposition and I replied saying we've never proved we can do that over a season in recent years. Once we prove we have the mental strength and consistency to beat the easy teams and be consist I'll expect to beat teams below but I certainly don't expect it right now
-
we have struggled winning the "easy" games since Roosy came (there were no easy games before he came!) im usually just as confident going in against a good team than a poor one. Saying we should win those 12 games doesn't carry much weight. especially with an even comp
-
the other simple fact is that any Team wins more often when playing at home. So by selling the games to NT, we are tangibly hurting our chances of on-field success. and depriving us loyal fans of being able to see the team play 2 games per year live
-
that better not be the correct fixture. Dons have another dream run! and we get shafted again figured we would play the Cats twice and we need our annual trip the freeway not much has changed really. wait for the one friday night game for us and 5 for essendon
-
So the drug cheats get rewarded with a friday night game. makes me sick, lets hope the crows belt them Surely Cats V Dees would have been ideal for Sat night at the G? and not two average sides who won't make finals (hawks v pies)? anyway - still cant wait for the game! thank god its at the G! Viney will tag Ablett and Selwood at the same time. Run Gary into the MCG turf and break Ducky Selwood's spirit like usual

I still can't get used to seeing the words 'Melbourne' and 'Blockbuster' in the same sentence! things on the up

Look at who has won the flag the last two years. Kicking skills not critical but need aggressive animals that roll the ball forward.

couldn't disagree more mate. so not much point in arguing back Go Dees

Port the big winners in Trade Week?
DubDee replied to Bring Back Barassi's topic in Melbourne Demons
Everyone going on about Ports 3 players they brought in. They also lost: Trengove - solid backman Impy who I rate, speedy and is still young Ah chee who is young and some potenial Lobbe - decent ruck Austin and Young They have gone for flashy players over more reliable types - is the net gain of talent much? id argue no If Ryder goes down that will struggle big time -
i hear ya but I reckon its a bit harsh on the big fella. last 3 years he has averaged 16 games/season. and the missed games in 2015 was partly coz he was in vfl not due to injury i think he is in our top 5 players and certainly our top 5 most important. so happy to pay him as such
-
Gawn is well within his rights to ask for a good deal, 3-4 years and high pay. He knows his body won't let him play 7 more years. if we try to shaft him with a poor deal he would leave (so would I) as this is likely the last deal of his career. I'm confident he can get his body right and play a big 3-4 years for us, his knees seem good just unlucky with that hammy

A divorcee, an addicted gambler and a sexual deviant walk into a bar . Barman says: Jake, you drinking alone again tonight?
-
I see Blues are giving next years 2nd round pick so if they are poor again that could be around 24 ish. and if crows are high could be eg, 16 --> 24 which isnt that bad
-
2 first rounders for Gibbs? fook me! at 29 not too many years left they have learnt a harsh lesson from last year, Gibbs could have been the difference for them this year
