I agree with DL that we were a pawn used by Elliott and his management to get an extra year out of Collingwood. It failed. Now the same tactic is being applied using Brisbane with his management upping the ante, this time cameras were on stand-by filming Elliott’s arrival and entering of Brisbane’s facilities. Elliott is a fan favourite, Eddie won’t let him leave.

I thought that could be the case and slightly covered off on that in my initial post. So if an RFA announces they are going to explore free agency their current club can make them an offer anytime? I thought they had to wait and see if he accepted a rival clubs offer then match it. Edit: Irrelevant now as grey wolf has brought to my attention Elliott is a UFA.

Apologies I should have said Nixon’s report. I suppose my point was that I don’t believe Collingwood would have increased their offer as they know Elliott is exploring his rights as a free agent.. Surely they’d hold off and see what offer he accepts then match it if they want to. Therefore I don’t believe Collingwood have increased their offer.
