  1. There are a number of experienced players available to help with the younger players eg Tom Mitchell to help with the young mids
  2. I wonder what the players are thinking as player movement is the afl norm but in particular the leaders eg Gawn & Viney, there was also posts of what the players thought of his B&F speech….
  3. Hawks were able to win 4 flags inc a 3 peat team using, imagine having the whole club under 1 roof, able to park and watch training
  4. Was King in the room? Or do the coaches not participate in this?
  5. That would be very disappointing if true Something shifted in him after the injury what exactly who knows, I remember seeing him at the last game in 24 wearing a cap head down like I just don’t want to be here…. There’s pain and anger in us & I can’t read or look at him talking up GC etc, Someone posted can we close this thread .. we should move on, Hawks lost Buddy and won a 3peat.. he’s no Buddy but one player dosent make a team & Buddy didn’t win a flag with the Swans in 10yrs!
  6. Best way So he’s saying he couldn’t go to another level & the Demons??? Honestly it’s verbal BS, can’t wait to hear what the supporters will have to say when they play us at the G
  7. Hearing both Trac & Curnow in their pressers like they found the holy land with their new clubs reinforces the selfishness in these players, wanting to help Jamara yet was upset about the culture & our club
  8. He would be better than the vfl players we traded in last year
  9. It’s a joke that a premiership team can get simply too up with free agents to remain strong! No to mention their academies they have in qld & nsw. We needed a player from the Suns, they know it’s a week draft so it will only be a win for us if pick 7&8 work out the rest of who we traded are good additions
  10. spoke very well, was respectful to trac & Oliver, like how he said can’t win 21 again & looking to next flag…perhaps the 1st time of heard our CEO speak so well since Jackson
  11. Trac had already checked out… he wasn’t 100% committed & his B&F speech said it all part of the afl landscape unfortunately, Essendon will have a captain who doesn't want to to be there! Sorry to say the afl is producing selfish players
  12. Yeah his B&F speech said it all saying it’s his job reinforced he had checked out, interest to know what how his teammates rate him as I dare say there is more to this & to hang on the club on his treatment during his injury, can’t be the defining moment
  13. Agree that King need clear air without having to deal with the issues of both Trac & Oliver which have suffocated the club, strong clubs do their talking on the field vs the circus of the past 2 seasons, having Green stand up & say those players would be @ the club only to see them go, we need to stop grandstanding, you don’t get this from the cats, pies, lions, swans,
  14. It’s the manner and all the issues, both in contract vs Farmer who was end of contract, we will never know all the reasons but it reinforces we are not a well run club across the handling of Oliver issues & how we supposedly handled Trac post injury with him feeling isolated, lays at the feet of the footy/goodwin dept… looking fwd King needed to clean air and a new era
  15. Needed to be moved on 12-24 mths earlier, very sad demise and stupid contract, Goodwin shielded he’s behaviours and ruined the culture, Trac would still be here
  16. Trac was frustrated with player behaviours, how will he react to Jamara???
  17. Pretty spot on & why we lost trac
  18. Very sad day & a reflection of how poorly the club managed whatever occurred culturally to make a player like Trac want to leave, he’s our only Norm Smith…like many we would like to know why but we will never know, Watching him talk after the win at Geelong in 21 and how he dedicate it to all the suffering supporter base in tears to fast fwd and see he’s disconnection…I question he’s motives also & will never know what they are… Moving fwd King can now have clear air without the continued question of Tracs future. The trades look decent with exp/leadership of Steele & strengthen the fwd with Brody & Cj defence
  19. Agree to poor mgt but free agency and seeing the best players going to premiers & GF teams just strengthen them vs the bottom teams hoping that pick 1,2,3 hopefully develop in 3-5 yrs
  20. Agree the saga needs to stop but we need to hold the upper hand! Losing an A grader for picks whilst top 10s what are we going to get kids, throw in Oliver and it’s 400 games gone! Feeling we will come off 2nd best
  21. Surely Oliver is worth more than pick 30s plus paying his contract is crazy! Would be better to hang on to him, are we that desperate to dump his contract?
  22. Afl & PA have lots to answer for as the power is with the player forcing them to rollover, giving up a 200 gamer Norm Smith premiership player pick 2,who has another 4-5 yrs… Club is caught between holding onto a player who wants out or accepting draft picks in a weaker draft, that’s not replacing talent!
  23. One wonders will the Dogs get better compensation for Jamara … Imagine that… hope lamb takes a tough stance
  24. Trac wasn’t happy with player behaviour, hope he can deal Jamara….
  25. Correct poor mgt of clubs impacts the success, my point is rather the Afl carries in about growing the game in northern states and supporting the expansion clubs etc but both the lions & Swans have played in over 50% of GFs in the last 25yrs, expecting similar success in GC & GWS whilst there vic clubs stay unsuccessful
