Father Sons have worked well for the Lions & Pies, what I question is the strategy of those teams inc the cats in there premiership windows have topped up with experienced players vs our strategy to go back to the draft which Goodwin confirmed, did we blow the opportunity to maximise our window 22-23 ??

As much as I hate the pies & they are looked after by the afl the fixtures etc also respect them that they fight to the end, something that’s gone missing from us & all this love BS and talk of not wins & losses but process is that BS as it’s created mediocracy acceptance of losing, we don’t hear McRae saying this he looks like he cares deeply for all his players!

We dominated inside 50s & have been butchering the ball going into our fwd line, correct teams worked us out & Goody hasn’t been able to fix it, last 3 premiers are contending we are heading for another bottom 6 finish with so called stars ageing.. but hey let’s accept another season of the same

He’s won a flag plus 2 finals in 2018, he’s 2 straight sets exits and since then has won 11 games in 24 & be lucky to win 8, that’s going backwards not to mention suspect culture issues and by his own admission the handling of trac & Oliver, he’s talking rebuild yet the last 3 premiers are contending, list mgt may not be he’s entire fault but look at how he handled Grundy saying his much thru value him then dumping him! Too much flip flop

Have also heard that Goody comms with the younger players is very poor and has his favourites, Roos built the foundations and I can’t remember ever hearing Goody talk about Roos etc even after the flag!

So are all assistant coaches & list mgt fall under him, if so needs to go with Goodwin, which of the traded players are getting games, all are vfl level , whilst losing Harmes, Bedford, Jordan.

That’s unfair by the AFl for any club that’s had to medically retire a player should not be included in the cap! We lost a great player so how can u replace him if ur restricted on cap space ??

Listening to Goodwin presser it appears their strategy is to improve via the draft & our existing older players are still capable of featuring at the next flag assault, not the course that the cats, pies & lions have taken, can’t see many of our senior players will request for a trade if we finish bottom 6 in 26 if not this season

Listening to his presser of copy & paste it appears that the strategy around list mgt is on drafting in young talent vs trading in experienced players vs what the cats, pies & lions are doing to still be contending for another flag but what would they know! Whatever talent is left will retire or ask to be traded waiting on Goodwin rebuild and watching the cats , pies & lions winning multiple flags

Correct but goes deeper than that our presser turnover has dropped off, our marks inside 50, who’s our danger marking fwd ?? our mids are not what they were, call it game plan, call it ageing and or injury certainly Trac not the same Oliver has dropped off, Viney he’s given everything but he’s not the elite, game plan coaching, we have gone from Yze to Mcqualter both senior coaches now to Jones & no disrespect but the 2 before him coached under 2 coaches who won 7 flags.. it seems as though the strategy is to improve the list via the draft and Finnish outside the 8 rather than trading in exp talent like the cats, pies, lions who are challenging but what would they know!
