Collectively, the clubs have an informal policy that is something like: a) official closed sessions are respected, except for undercover spies sometimes; b) Spies who are identified and asked to leave either open or closed sessions respect that direction.

agree. I'd back us against anyone else week 1.

i know he was injured but you need more than 3 tackles to cover getting only 5 disposals...
-
A lot of wrist slashing given our injury depleted team lost to that clear top team in the competition, hashing beaten them when we were were full strength earlier this year. Hell, 24 months ago we would be happy this wasn't 90 points. We'd have been happy to be competitive.

You're kidding? He had one good run then fluffed the inside 50 and he got on the end of a cheap one...what else did he do?

QFT

Waa only a couple of grabs and a straight kick off having a good night. Unfortunately he is a confidence player. If he clunks or jags them early, he is often on for the day.

how many that bounce up to adelaide??

Oscar playing a really good game everywhere except for on the lead.

Make sure you go to the salt mines!

Disgrace.

He actually signed a comtract extension with us weeks/months before he quit to head home. And from memory we didn't draft him, he came as part of the Hogan package.

Im struggling. On one hand I'm bullish. But I fully expect it to all come crashing down. Im not ready to deal with being successful yet: I don't want to gloat but people either say "how about those dees ey?", which is hard not to respond by talking them up out they whinge about how we didn't deserve it due to umpiring etc. which makes me want to respond. I had resorted to talking up underrated players as having potential but everyone knows about Hunt now and Oliver is hated more than anyone. Now I'm resigned to copping it and Im just holding on, hoping we keep robbing so I can start dishing it back.

I hope we get on the offensive and shape the conversation: "we're disappointed the patron was allowed to remain despite threatening an afl player"

Oliver amazing in close. TMac great up forward. Defence (Frost Hibberd Hunt and OMac) all solid. We should win this from here. We dont have the finesse that we get from having Salem, Watts and Jones in the side but we are getting it done now.

So having seen the supporter on tv, it's unlikely he said anything racist or sexist given he too was a white male...
-
who cares? The carlton bloke started it. As long as he hasn't said anything racist, sexist etc. nothing should come from it.

The outcome was not his intention. But: a) it wasn't needed as the ball had already gone passed and such contact was unexpected; b) he DID do it; c) the act had significant potential to do harm. As far as I'm concerned it is worth 2 weeks on that basis.

Awesome thanks for the heads up.

Hi Demonland, ill be in ballarat tomorrow and can't make it to the game. Is there a Ballarat supporters group that gets together or a good pub you'd reckoned to watch it in? cheers Deanox

* according to Wikipedia The voting system as of the 2016 AFL season, consists of four members of the match committee giving each player a ranking out of ten after each game. Players can receive a maximum of 40 votes for a game.
-
interesting about the Geelong system. I understand that in the Bluey, every player is eligible for votes each week. i.e there aren't a maximum votes for the team, each player gets a rating (out of 7 I think) each game. I'd like clarification of anyone has it.

An elbow to the jaw is just as dangerous but that isn't worth any weeks. Im not supporting or condoning Buggs actions but he was provoked by an off the ball elbow and retaliated. He eve looked surprised when he saw Mills down 2 seconds later. In the incident last week, a player elbowed another player in the jaw without provocation and during the half time break. Did it connect as well? No. But it had the same potential to do harm.
