  1. i wonder how many threads in the history of demonland have had this many posts? old fwiw i agree with you on this one. he did play well then, and that sort of ground suits him. he is least suited to geelong, adelaide and sydney (and i spose TD). the problem is while he may have played good games, he has never influenced a result has he? (with the possible exception of that game against richmond, however even that day neita booted 6 goals, two more than he). miller looks like he could get 15 touches and kick a couple and be servicable. i think thats a key point. EDIT: in that game against richmond, robertson also kicked 2 goals 5 behinds, so it was a pretty good day for our tall forwards. however miller managed to pick up 2 brownlow votes. (although nathan brown picked up 3 votes with 21 disposals and a goal, while cam bruce had the pill 33 times for the 1 vote)
  2. are you sure your not mixing up the following people: Michael Newton (mfc listed tall forward, currently playing at sandy), leigh newton (ex mfc listed player, current media manager and part time ruck coach), and mark williams (current sandringham coach). for good measure: mark williams (current port adelaide coach).
  3. why? do we have a large number of supporters who get tattoos done during games? maybe thats a market we should be appealing too...
  4. good enough for me mate, i wasnt having a go, i was just wondering if youd seen him and what you thought...
  5. out of interest jarka, you seem to be saying that its not good enough from pickett, but you are keen to see more of hayes who has had reported personal issues also. if you think that people who can't cope with this shouldnt be in the business are you worried about us picking hayes, or do you think he can get over these issues and just play footy?
  6. awesomes, i was just interested if you'd seen him play or not. i havnt seen him and i was wondering if the comments were worth noting or if you'd changed your tune based on the wisby report lol
  7. out of interest, why do you think he can make it? whats he shown to you?
  8. what makes you say that?
  9. interesting point you make. i think that when you think about the people you know and work with, a hard as nails, tough as guts footballer doesnt seem the likely type to need 'stress leave' or to break down at work etc like seems to happen to so many people these days. personally i know i have outside issues sometimes but that doesnt make my job go away so i do my job and deal with my issues at home. some people cant do this and they seem to crack at work. im not saying byron 'cracked' but do we expect things not to affect him because he is a footballer?
  10. red and blue, nasher might have something to say about that!
  11. from the melbournefc website player profiles (colin garland): ...a tall, athletic, key position player who is capable of playing at both ends of the ground... i havnt seen much of him so i can't really comment. it would be interesting if one of the sandy supporters/watchers here could comment on what he has been doing?
  12. i cant see any of them playing this year tbh. bartrams time frame just keeps getting pushed back and back. moloney has op and i dont think he will be right, and i reckon rivers is in a real spot of bother with that lower back problem...
  13. yeah i thought he's been lining up on the wing... but he has played great footy the last few weeks hasnt he...
  14. i would have liked to be a fly on the wall in the uruguay-ian change rooms after they lost the game, and their 'divine right' to be in the world cup
  15.   and what a fantastic 3000th post!
  16. see i told you you were immature. cant you see that we are discussing an issue and a problem, not forcing an extremist view. you want to think that he is perfect. he is not. he needs to work on his kicking. we dont want to drop him or trade him. well trade might be an option if we can snare a good deal...
  17. but we have already stuck with miller LONGER than we stuck with bell! he hasnt been out injured, he just hasnt played well. simply put he is not as good a footballer. i think he has some great attributes and could make a consistent performer but stop trying to say that he will be a superstar. and stop saying that we gave bell more chances. because he wont be and we havnt.
  18. i was thinking about acquiring tickets for this match...i might wait and see if neitz will be playing first...
  19. only because 'on the bandwagon' decided that because miller was two years older than daniel bell, miller should be given extra time to develop. im sorry? did i hear you right? that doesnt make sense to you either? thank god. there is no reason why we should be comparing these two except that 'bandwagon' wanted to use this (terrible) example to support brad miller. i am not bagging brad miller. but her comparison, and arguments regarding bell and miller and their age, make as much sense as saying that i am wearing new shoes which is why i slipped over, i should wear my old shoes.
  20. miller is two years older, and has been played in double the amount of games that bell has been played in and you still say that bell has been given more chances than miller?
  21. no but over his career he has kicked 3 goals for every 2 behinds. this season he has kicked 1 goal for every 2 behinds. that is a drop in accuracy from 60% to 33%. a remarkable difference. this stat epitomises his overall struggle with his kicking this season.
  22. cameron bruce used to be a great kick. brad green was even better. last year brad had an injury in his left foot which meant he had pain killing injections in that foot every week before the game. this was numbing his foot meaning he didnt have much control over where he was kicking it. this year his foot is fixed and his kicking is fixed. brad miller, when it comes to kicking, isnt brad greens bootlace. he can't kick more than 40 metres, and his accuracy is questionable. this has been the case his whole career. i have heard rumours he has had a mild case of OP. could that be the problem? maybe but i think he just cant kick. cameron bruces current probably seems to be poor technique, as most on this website agree. is that form? it is strange that such a hard working player hasnt corrected a simple technical problem at training isnt it? perhaps he is carrying an injury similar to green was last year. his hard work on the ball has been fantastic. if his kicking had been on song this year he would be looking at having a good run at the browlowe. on current kicking form he wont. FWIW this season bruce has kicked 5 goals 10, in his career he has kicked 178 goals 126 behinds...
  23. thats clearly not what you said. what you said was: that implies that we have given bell more chances than miller. maybe you were thinking that, but you sure weren't writting it.
  24. good girl, now you've got it. no one is saying bruce was worst on ground. this discussion is about how his kicking has been poor, what has caused it, and what can be done. there are opinions that his poor kicking is holding him back from being a superstar, and that is a fair point. and a couple of wayward kicks? i reckon he is missing 5+ targets a week. last week he missed 4 shots at goal alone. is it skill errors, is it confidence? what do you think the problem is?
