  1. Without a planet there is no such thing as over-population.
  2. Or perhaps turned a blind eye. It could've caught the AFL by surprise, but I doubt it. If anything, I think the saga highlighted the AFL's determination to keep things 'in house'. They want to micro-manage everything, the WADA situation just exposed them. Now everyone knows what time it is, people ask questions, do the AFL hide things like '3 strikes', etc. Because we wouldn't know if they did, I think it begs the question, should the AFL be regulated by an independent party? Which goes back to your second question of accountability.
  3. What, and end up like 'big footy', please tell me you are not serious?
  4. I agree. I think its because the AFL is now a business, and the game of football is just a part of that business. In KB's day it was football first, now it is football second, perhaps even third. But I think, maybe now its too far gone. I don't know where the game will end up, but I do think the NZ government were onto something a few years ago when they labelled the AFL an entertainment spectacle - as opposed to a sport (which occurred after a St Kilda game in NZ).
  5. "Can't take him with pick 4, that's a big stretch is in response to Garlett" - if you cared to read that. You idiot.
  6. Yeah, the only disappointing thing about his poll is that a lot of the 'yes' votes came years after it was started.
  7. http://demonland.com/forums/index.php?/topic/30753-toumpas-v-stringer-v-wines/ Post #13 Thanks for coming.
  8. Yeah, I understand that. It was in the wording, and I should've worded it is a little smarter. I didn't intend on associating the word 'proper' - with rape, assault, drugs, etc. When I referred to proper, I just meant acceptable behavior (a proper of decent way of conducting themselves). Its just those other issues (rape, DV, drugs) came in the next sentence. I don't mean to justify those other issues (rape, DV, drugs) either, I understand they happen, and AFL players aren't immune to them, they should be held 100% accountable.
  9. Yeah, he reads the play so well. Has great awareness and timing - closes in on his opponents with momentum. I agree with you regards to Parish re: beep test, 13.8 seems a bit low, he didn't look like a guy struggling for pace or endurance in that match.
  10. How many members of society are well behaved at all times? Certainly not all. IMO it is unrealistic to expect AFL players to be any different.
  11. Cricket mustn't have worked out, good call. http://www.afl.com.au/news/2015-10-28/crows-catch-cricket-codehopper-as-keath-signs-on
  12. Yep, fair call.

  14. Not really, I said earlier that not having Toumpas in my top 20 was an exaggeration, and that I would've had him in my top 5 - that bump just shows that.
  15. He was pretty quick to say a 'vintage' Daisy Thomas. Would be a worry if he compared himself to the current version of Dale Thomas.
  16. I agree with most of that. But I think its his indecision that kills him, and I'm not sure that a midfield role would help.
  17. Yeah I was surprised I mentioned him in the same breath as the other 2. I will try and make it a bit more clear cut this year.
  18. Wow, that impressive. I didn't realise I was so high on Stringer.
  19. Same name, different account, the old KingDingAling copped a ban at some point.
  20. IMO Wines was a standout, in yours Whitfield was. No big deal. I wrote my opinion at the time, I am not re-writing history, just rehashing my views.
  21. Yeah I think I was just exaggerating, I would've had Toumpas top 5 at times that year. Wines was a standout, the rest was a bit of a raffle.
  22. Looks more agile, better evasive skills than Sloane IMO. Also, I think Oliver is better in tight, IMO a better clearance player than Sloane. But where Sloane has him covered is in endurance, gut running, and effectiveness. I think that comes with experience though. Oliver is an interesting draftee, he is a good user on both sides of his body, and like Wines, he does all the grunt work. I would take Oliver above any other mid, but I wouldn't be disappointed if the club looks to take a couple of talls with 3 and 7.
