I want Roos to take Nathan Jones off. I'm sick of us relying on Nathan Jones all the time. -

Vandenberg has good skills. -
That would be the final nail for me. Player movement and Free agency are ruining the equality of the game. If player movement continues I will be long gone, MFC is the only thing keeping me interested in the AFL. When it comes to the modern day AFL, there is no loyalty, there is no equality, there is no direction, and there is a lot of corruption.

The AFL is one of the most corrupt organisations: Discuss
KingDingAling replied to Wolfmother's topic in Melbourne Demons
If Essendon get away with that, I will walk away from the AFL. I will continue to support the MFC, but outside of that, no AFL. However, if Essendon are found guilty, I will gladly watch them get pumped by 100 points every week, I'd love that. -
How convenient for them. Then I again, I guess they cannot comment on something they know nothing about (integrity).

Christian Salem signs 2 year deal
KingDingAling replied to dazzledavey36's topic in Melbourne Demons
This is a massive signing, Salem is a very special player. It is good to hear that he loves the club. We will need him to love the club, he'll be sort after when he comes out of contract. We haven't drafted a more complete player than this kid in the past 20 years - and I've said that for over a year now. Roos pulled off a coup when he got Salem and Tyson, and hopefully we end up with Kelly anyway. -
I would fold them up tomorrow. We want a stronger competition - on and off the field. This isn't about tens of thousands of members. This is about what is best for the game of AFL - as without the game those clubs wouldn't exist. Given that the AFL is a business, it should be trying to put the highest quality product it can to the people. It can kill 2 birds with the one stone here. Makes sense for the good of the game, and from a business perspective. One of the very rare instances those two aspects align.

Too many Victorian teams, I'd cull 2 to start with. North and Bulldogs would be gone tomorrow.

Mitch Clark's 6 goals - how ... 'depressing'.

Next cab off the ranks #whateverittakes. -
I think that is to emphasize 'we are good - but we can get better' (win).... Vs.... 'we did some good things, we have a lot to work with' (loss). I think that is all for the psychology of the playing group. I have no doubt Roos is doing this to change our way of thinking. In the past, the boys were told they weren't good enough, that is why we dropped our heads in games. The list actually believed it was useless. Roos is changing the psychology of the club, which will go a long way to improving our future. This guy is a genius, as is Bennett.

Just a suggestion, but maybe you should think about squeezing Christian Salem in your supercoach.
-
Kelly has done A LOT more than Salem so far. That is partially only due to Salem having next to no pre-season. Kelly has already shown what he is capable of, now we are starting to see Christian Salem show what he is capable of. I thought they were hard to split at the time of the draft, I had Salem at 1 and Kelly at 2, but hard to split. Hopefully we can land Josh Kelly in the future, he should definitely be the no 1 target of the MFC, without a doubt.
-
I don't think Treloar will leave GWS, he'd be the target of many sides, we'd have to pay overs in every sense - on the draft table and through the pocket. I think a more practical target would be one of their (GWS) second tier midfielders. GWS will have one of the best midfields in the competition this year. They also have the depth depth through their midfield IMO - probably along with Brisbane/Sydney. We should be targeting that depth, players like Coniglio, Shiel, Kelly. I cannot see Scully even breaking into their midfield after this year. Scully is going to need to play up to every cent he is earning this year - to even keep a spot in that midfield next year.
-
Yep, we stuffed around around half back. We lost the clearances due to trialling blokes through the midfield - also explaining the inside 50 count. I thought there were some positive signs today. If one thing stood out if was Salem down back. Roos is now faced with a tough decision. With a midfield looking capable of extracting the ball out of the middle - but incapable of clean disposal/direction going into the forward line, does Roos throw Salem in the midfield. I think he will, it stood out to much today, and Salem brings the midfield attributes it sorely lacks atm.
-
Nah, he's alright. He just needs some work on his inside game. Toumpas gets caught more than any other player I've seen in AFL football. It is fixable, he has many quality attributes, he'll be a good player, just needs to iron out some simple issues. I hope McCartney can get in touch with Scott West, because he would do wonders for James Toumpas.

Mitch Clark's 6 goals - how ... 'depressing'.
KingDingAling replied to bush demon's topic in Melbourne Demons
From a MFC perspective I think the best way to combat the issue of Mitch Clark is to not give it any energy. If there is one thing I have noticed about Clark - it is that he lives for attention, everything he does is for attention. This depression card will give him prolonged attention, it will be interesting how it all pans out. But.. I suggest that we don't feed the beast. I'd like to see this thread closed. Let's not give Clark any attention, he doesn't deserve it. Paul Roos has played this card from the very start, we need to start following suit on Demonland. -
Mitch Clark's 6 goals - how ... 'depressing'.
KingDingAling replied to bush demon's topic in Melbourne Demons
I am godsmacked by those pages. As someone who hasn't done facebook in over 5 years, it appears to be one big cess pool of negativity. In this instance - all that negativity is being directed at Mitch Clark. I am amazed the sheer amount of numbers. They certainly don't hold back. Here I was reading big footy and demonland wondering why there wasn't that much hostility over the Clark issue, now I've realised how censored and regulated these sites must be. Judging by the SEN page, this is fast becoming an uproar. I don't know anything at all about the Clark situation, but if there is anything untoward about it - It will come out. It can't not. I'm still blown away. I'm glad I don't do facebook!! -
Salem, kid has it all.
