  1. You'd almost think his departure would improve that abhorrent excuse for "entertainment," but all I needed to read was Hutchy to realise this is a break-even outcome.
  2. Geez, real bunch of Einsteins they have down there at the Port Adelaide FC. And LOL at teammates getting together for a [censored] up after training, and at the house of Angus Monfries of all players! You'd think after screwing over your new club by missing an entire year of footy due to being a convicted drug cheat might help you learn a thing or two about decision making? What a way to reward the club who gave you another chance to prove yourself. Culture!
  3. Jarman Impey, and he crashed into 4 cars including teammate Angus Monfries', after they were having an all-day booze up at Gus's house. Supposedly, his defence will argue Impey is having a hard time dealing with his father's death. I have sympathy for the guy, but it's no excuse for getting behind the wheel when you're blind drunk, crashing into 4 cars, then escaping the scene of a crime by driving erratically and doing burnouts while witnesses pursue you. http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/port-adelaide-afl-player-linked-with-hitrun-luxury-vehicle-smash-20161203-gt3grf.html
  4. I hear what you're saying but ultimately H is breaching the contract by not turning up to work. If I had a contract job and just stopped turning up when I was well enough to, or took holidays to Africa and never came back on time, or needed weeks off to grieve the death of people I don't even know, I would be breaching my contract and it would rightfully be torn up and my salary would cease to enter my bank account. Of course, things change when you're an overpaid sports figure who can afford lawyers to manipulate unjust outcomes. What H is doing makes my blood boil; the sense of entitlement and sanctimony is pathetic, especially on the type of salary he's on. You'd think being the "worldly" person he is, he might understand just how blessed his life is.
  5. Haha, funny video Night Crawler, thanks for bringing my attention to it!
  6. So GWS go into the draft with picks 2, 15, 37 & 39 and end up having 2, 5, 14 & 20 as their first four picks. Yes, that's right, four draft picks inside the top 20 for a club who finished top 4 this year. Absolute effing joke. The AFL can go get [censored] for the way they handled the Whitfield affair, this was clearly by design to ensure GWS got all their Academy prospects with the pathetic "bidding" system that is still being rorted by these clubs.
  7. It sounds a lot like these "concussion issues" were used as a convenient excuse for H to not bother showing up to the club most of last year. Shows a real lack of dedication because there's hundreds of other things he could be doing around the club even if he wasn't fit to play games. Instead he was off grieving the death of people he didn't know. Plus he had that extended trip to Africa didn't he, where the club wasn't informed why he wasn't back when he told them he would be.
  8. Seriously, what? I'm a "lefty" and I think the bloke's a peanut. I don't see anyone in this thread even remotely suggesting this is a racial debate. And yes, your post probably should be deleted, if only to prevent an epidemic of migraines from violent facepalms!
  9. Exactly how many specialists does one need to see? Strikes me as someone fishing for a specific answer to suit an agenda, and not stopping until they get the answer they want. And if this condition is affecting him so greatly, it contradicts his claim he was able-bodied enough to play in 2016. Frankly, his accusations against the medical team are outrageously insulting.
  10. Exactly, rather laughable of him to suggest he was automatically good enough to be an instant selection just because the docs cleared him. For that reason, he hasn't really got a case here.
  11. I get the impression he just wants to retire with the rest of his contract paid out (two more years), and the club obviously balked at his demands. The situation clearly escalated if the MFC had to seek legal advice finding grounds not to pay out a fourth year of his contract (didn't reach triggers). Rich of H to cite the MFC's cautious approach to concussion as being "blocked" from playing games. He'd be suing us for playing him while concussed if the situation were reversed!
  12. I'm inclined to think he's just wasting everyone's time now. I've got sympathy for players suffering medical conditions but there's been a sharpness of oddity around this whole situation from day one.
  13. Carlton got away with daylight robbery on this one (pick 19, ouch!) They must have known the extent of Yarran's issues when they were demanding this kind of currency. All the power to them I guess, who wouldn't take advantage of Richmond's brazen naivety? Their list management has been farcical for years.
  14. Their list is putrid. You don't win finals with 1 gun defender, 1 gun midfielder and a bunch of mediocre mids. And tying up 8% of your salary cap to one midfielder is idiotic beyond belief.
  15. Pathetic, the guy is clearly just wasting everyone's time now and has no intention of following through on the appeal. Basically he knows the system and knows how to waste everyone's resources; he's just disrespecting the whole process. In the real court system, Magistrates can just throw out vexatious litigants and prevent them from pulling this crap. Clearly this works differently with the AFL Tribunal.
  16. I think that was a typo on Dr Evil's part. Parish was a standout in a terrible team. Not a matchwinner but he acquainted himself to AFL immediately and has noticeably better stamina than Oliver (probably because he's been groomed in the system for years). Oliver, has more flashes of brilliance but is much less consistent and will remain so until he gets fair dinkum about his fitness. IMO It's irrelevant if this happened the morning after a big night. If you're planning to have a big night, DO NOT take your car with you - make alternative arrangements to get home. I liked the idea suggesting a suspended punishment where, pending his dedication throughout the rest of preseason, he could nullify or reduce any match suspensions. Puts the onus back on him to make amends and win back his teammates trust.
  17. Is there a generic email address you can point me to? Would like to email them some feedback as well, this clash geurnsey is just horrific. And the Demon Shop link is still active to me? https://thedemonshop.shopdesq.com/summer-2017/2017-clash-guernsey-pre-sale-1
  18. Club took a huge gamble taking Oliver over Parish, considering Parish was basically the sure thing. I think we knew it was high risk but high reward but my blood will boil if we got this one wrong because Oliver can't be disciplined. Get Lewis on his back for the rest of the preseason and have him leech off his experience. That should straighten him out if he's serious about putting his immense talent to good use. I agree with the sentiment of others that this sort of thing needs to be nipped in the bud now, not in a few years.
  19. So is the red and blue, but we still have a white clash geurnsey.
  20. There's nothing we can do about the white, the AFL will just never give a [censored] about our heritage colours unless we become one of the "power" clubs (aka overflowing in money). But just slapping that logo on a white background is beyond hideous. It's lazy, looks cheap, and is such a huge step backwards.
  21. Come on, MFC. This took me twenty minutes: Maintains our new branding but isn't a lazy cut & paste.
  22. Could they not have retained just the red elements of the logo (the MFC emblem and Melbourne text), added a dark blue outline, then ditched the rest of the logo proper? Something like this: Would have looked infinitely classier and streamlined IMHO.
